Saleh said Wilson will be out 2-4 weeks. They have a shot.

That could wind up being a top 150 pick. Such a bizarre trade on Jets part

Wilson is out for 2-3 games at least, so it could happen depending on his recovery

Wilson might miss four weeks.

I understand that part, but are we really going to believe that Flacco is the starter this week?  I can't imagine that... though he was there last year.  But, it's a different offensive scheme now, so it's going to take some time.   I see him as an insurance policy, not as the starter.   Maybe I am reading it wrong... hope so.

They would be smart to not put Wilson back in for at least a month. Why ruin his knee for a lost season?

Indeed.  The Jets aren't going anywhere this year.  No reason to play Flacco and give up the higher pick.  Just run with the younger guy and let Flacco be an insurance policy.   No clue why they would make the deal at all though.

It is the Bucs 5th, so it will be a late 5th.

Thought it was Bucs 6th or Jets 5th?

Yeah, I was confused

That’s quite a flop.

I’m not saying put wilson in, but for a team who’s desperate for influx of talent why trade for a 11 game rental QB that does nothing short term or long term.

Agreed. This also speaks volumes about Cam Newton. If I'm the Jets I am sitting Wilson for 4-6 weeks at least.

He supposedly has experience in a similar offense from when he was in Denver.

Trading Flacco also accelerated the QB evaluation timeline.  If the Eagles are losing and Hurts looks like garbage in Detroit, Minshew will be ready to go.

I don't know if that was taken into consideration when considering the Flacco trade but yeah ........

Preseason superstar!

Let's hope.  Would love an early 5th, versus a late 6th.

He will be promoted to active roster when we trade one of these vets

That's meaningless.  How did he perform in joint practices?

Was it you or one of the other mods that said practically all of the reports come from the blog?

Yea. He played with Scangarello whose a branch off Shanahan. So is LaFleur whose running their offense. Don't see what point a team like that is trading for an insurance policy. They aren't going anywhere, so If they are throwing away a pick in a lost year I assume its to start and do something.

I don't see the point in them bringing him in at all, to start or not to start.  Makes no sense.

Well, yea me either. But since they did I figure they have to have some kind of plan or something.

Wasnt Zach Wilson supposed to be our savior?

My God

Watkins looks like a receiver with potential.  He has made some big plays.  For a 6th round pick, he looks promising.  Not a hit yet in terms of being a proven starter.

I like Watkins don’t get me wrong but just how good has he looked? Out side of one huge catch for 91 yards his numbers haven’t been good.

18 catches 348 yards 0 TDs.

That’s just over 2 catches a game. Now his average is 18.3 per catch but the 91 yarder makes up most of that.

Now that could be Jalen Hurts being terrible Nick Sirianni coaching or maybe his numbers are what they are. I’ll tell you this the WRs have been so bad lately in Philly that when a WR does anything it seems more than what it is.

That said I do like Watkins and hope he’s a star.

Mayden is a good addition, at worst he's PS depth, at best safety depth.

Good speed, decent size, only started one year at Alabama.

The last two seasons have been audition time, which is how it should be, b/c you don't care how many waiver wire/PS guys you cycle through when you rebuild, only how many end up on your roster.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Barnett, Dillard, Cox, Slay, Nelson, Lane all shopped. This is full on tank/rebuild mode IMO.

Can Lane and Cox even be traded

With Mailata not 100% I don't think Dillard will get traded

Even in a rebuild you need some solid veteran pieces.
