yup.  And they ran a fade against the big slow CB... and ignored Hopkins on the opposite side of the field.  Boneheaded plan, but that entire last sequence from the QB draw by Murray on was just horrific play calling.

Frankly I’m surprised Hopkins was even out there at that point in the game with his hammy. If he’s healthy I’m 100% with you on throwing it up to him. He’s the best in the game at it. But he only played 25% of the snaps last night due to the hammy. I think they were using him as a decoy on that play.

He can't cover like Schwartz wanted.  He's probably better suited to a cover 3 system or in the Red Zone where he doesn't have to worry about getting beat by speed.

We ran a lot of cover 3 with Schwartz but Schwartz eventually moved to cover 1 and Douglas ain’t about that life.

Like I don’t have a problem if the Eagles want to go the route and not draft a quarterback if there’s not one there that they love or can’t acquire one that they love and then just build up the roster. That’s fine with me.

that's how it should be done and that's why nick foles and carson wentz were good players because they had good players to throw to. they werent put in a position to throw to scrap players like the jets and jags. you cant put a young qb regardless of who it is in a position to throw to bad receivers it hurts their development. it's a team sport, we need talent all over this roster. we need best talent right now, not focusing on positions of need.

I’m drafting a QB I’d there’s one there i love and absolutely believe can be a franchise QB. I don’t care who’s on this team. If one is there and i love him I’m selecting him. The bengals had a ton of holes outside of WR and RB on their team. They didn’t say we can’t draft burrow cause our oline was awful and defense was a disaster.

That's a bummer for DeSean.  I wanted to see him get a ring this year.  Hopefully he is traded to another contender.

@LeanMeanGM

Eagles - 16

Lions - 20

Bold Prediction: This is Hurts last game as the Eagles starter.

However this overboard we can’t draft a quarterback right now because we’re not ready and we need to build up the team but if there’s one there that the Eagles absolutely love and can acquire we still shouldn’t do it cause we’re not ready with the rebuild, that’s BS. If there’s a quarterback there that is obtainable that you love and think it’s your franchise quarterback for the next decade you go and get him. You don’t screw around. You go get the QB you love. That’s why they went and got Carson Wentz.

If you love a QB, you get him.  The trouble is... sometimes not having a QB warps your true vision of the QBs you can actually acquire and forces teams to fall in love with the one they can get, rather than the right one.

Oh i 100 percent agree. I think FO is in that stage you are talking about which is why i think they go get the QB. It’s why i wish they did a clean slate of the entire FO and allowed the new guy to make the decision and scouting on QBs. Unfortunately i think we are getting a QB one way or another unless hurts turns it around.

Can we get rid of both?

We can hope.  But until we get rid of the shorter one... the rest doesn't really matter.

I already had you at 26-27 Lions, Hurts misses 3 WR's for deep TD's and Lions win on last sec FG. Let me know which one you want.

New Orleans should be asking about him.  I don't think Tampa has a need for him.  It's possible they don't want to trade him in the NFC, in which case the Chargers, Chiefs and Colts should be looking at him.

Chargers would make sense. Kinda weird he already want's out of a contender. Guessing he's mad about playing time.

I missed the hammy injury.

Saints also make sense as they have a bunch of WR issues and who knows when Thomas is coming back. He has yet to practice yet.

In fairness to you the cardinals will ignore him for long periods of time when he is healthy. Like i said last night, friend who’s a diehard cardinals fan always complains about murray always having 2-3 dumb plays per game and kingsbury having Hopkins disappear for long stretches and sometimes a game.

Meh.   He's not a guy that a team can rely on in a big role.

Oh, yeah. Duh. Stay with the first one.

Sorry

Yep. All because we have to do the BS voidable years. If we had actual cap space, his contract is a smaller guarantee and more money for the acquiring team.

We have very little in the way of proven young talent, and our QB situation is the second worst in the league.

Let me know when Darnold, Lawrence, Wilson, Fields, Lance et al show they can play QB in the NFL.

If he can beat the Colts, that was a great trade!
