BLGs point lack nuance and context (unsurprisingly).  A team like the Eagles spending multiple high draft picks to get a Franchise QB with a LB corp bereft of talent, the Safeties little better, the DEs have little depth, OL needing depth etc and a cap position that is perpetually tight won't take them near a Super Bowl - the ultimate aim.  You can squeeze into a wild card spot with so many teams in the playoffs, but taking it to the next level requires roster with talent across the board where you sprinkle in FAs as you need to.

The Eagles need to revamp the roster and revamp the process behind that so that it fits into the NFL today, not the NFL from 2015/2016.

That game is the Eagle draft pick bowl. As long as both QBs stay the distance, we win either way.

Maybe not enough speed.  Who knows?

Howie!

Kinda surprised.   Does he still think he's a #1 and should be getting more targets?  Seems like a perfect situation for him and a chance to win a SB.

Can we get rid of both?

Need to give Hurts time to develop.....like maybe 5 years?

Agreed.

Let me know when Darnold, Lawrence, Wilson, Fields, Lance et al show they can play QB in the NFL.

Well that response makes no sense.

That's a bummer for DeSean.  I wanted to see him get a ring this year.  Hopefully he is traded to another contender.

I think there are a few contenders that may be interested, not sure what he would fetch in a trade, probably not much but yeah desean can still run, problem is he hasn't shown he can stay healthy when given more than a handful of snaps a game.

The Chargers should trade for him. He’d go well with Herbert.

Watching a bit of film on the DL class, as there are a few rated in the top 15-20.

Thibodeaux is clearly the #1 prospect; he's really fast at either DE position which is somewhat uncommon.  Would definitely expect him to be the consensus #1 pick

I like Aidan Hutchinson a bit better than George Karlaftis; Hutchinson has a better motor and could play either DE or DT; Karlaftis has some good speed though

DeMarvin Leal has very impressive physical tools and looks like he could get a little bigger at DT.  Raw but very talented.

@Original Sin Question: I despise Notre Dame but I really like that big safety. Thinking Cam Chancellor here. What say you?

Hutchinson can NOT play tackle. His great talent is speed to power. Plus he’s about 260. Not 300.

@austinfan

Sorry for being too dismissive. Looking around the NFL, what QB situations wouldn’t you take over Philly?

Id rather have Hurts and Minshew over what’s in Houston, Carolina, Washington.

Regardless of how the rookie QBs have played, I’d take every one of those guys over what we have moving forward, which is the point. Our QB situation lacks any kind of upside in both the near term and long term. At best, the QBs get us to purgatory, which really is the worst place to be.

No need for that. I was being a D so I apologized.

Maybe add the Steelers (Big Ben is done) Bears, ok maybe Foles, Giants, Dolphins

Im thinking Sean Taylor

Daniel Jones and Tua have more upside and are better than what we have.

I forgot about Pittsburgh. Yeah, I think the Steelers would honestly be better with Hurts or Minshew.

I mentioned this a couple weeks back. He was graded by PFF as a 76 and their highest graded olineman on the colts. Figures he’d go there and wind up being good.

You said 2nd worst, I think we'll have to wait until January to know if the Eagles are 20th or 31st in terms of QB situation.

I do think Meyer is an idiot, if I had Minshew and Lawrence, with Minshew having played two years with the same players, I'd have Minshew starting and Lawrence on the bench until halfway through the season, much like Pederson and McNabb. He may well destroy Lawrence as a QB. Same with Wilson with the Jets.

If the Eagles didn't have all those OL injuries, we might have a better read on Hurts, a lot of stuff works better when the OL is stable and practicing with the skill people week after week, especially plays like RPOs and screens, where timing is key.

I don’t believe for one second the OL is the reason for Hurts’ struggles. He’s simply not good enough, at least to this point.

He's been well coached, but I wouldn't depend on Pryor for a long stretch, there's a reason he nosed dived down our depth chart.

But he was good value in the 6th rd, we got a couple functional seasons out of him, not his fault he was overused due to injury.

It is much easier for any QB to develop behind a stable OL, because it take time to learn to see the field, and the more you can sit comfortably in the pocket, the more reps you'll have where you have time to go through progressions - and the more you do so, hopefully, the quicker you'll get at it. Especially with today's college QBs, who have almost no experience going through their reads due to the college game being predicated on one or two reads based on mismatches against DBs who are inferior athletes.

Please sir, it's Canadiens. When you say Canadians, I feel attacked. Sorry for interrupting your conversation.

I was wondering how long it would take to notice that. Sometimes spelling and using the proper word DOES matter, people.
