Another GameDay. Yippee.......

Anyone else remember the last time GameDay was so unexciting? I'm considering going grill shopping instead.

A high school yesterday won 106-0, lol. Howie probably had scouts watching Morningside

I’m all for it.

That being said, if I’m the losing team, I’m taking lots of cheap shots

Yep lol. Best time of year to buy them too. It's either that or watch the number one overall pick bowl. Although Minshew will be active today. Wonder the odds Hurts gets yanked.

Im looking at the infrared ones.

Well here we are week 8, normally this would be the halfway point of the season but with an extra game and bye, we will have 10 weeks to go.  Season far from over.   Going into the season I thought we would have growing pains.  So we shouldn't really be too shocked by 2-5 with a Young Coaching Staff and QB.  With that said, we probably let two of those losses go and should probably be 4-3 or 3-4 honestly.    But that's water under the bridge.   Here's comes the 0-7 Lions.   Eagles and Lions have a long history going back to 1933.  The Series is tied all time at 16-16-2.    Today is Halloween and it would be very spooky if we don't pull out this win.    Winless Teams are always Trap Games because you never know if they will pull it together.    Let's hope for a win and break the series tie.

Sure... but trading him costs the team $40M in dead cap space for 2022.  ($26M more than having him on the team.)

And this is the biggest problem with Howie's stupid contract structures.  He's locked himself into these aging players that might have value to a team looking to make a run, but can't get out from under their cap hits.  Cox would cost the acquiring team the draft capital and the prorated portion of his salary for this year (About $500k), and his base salary for next year is about $1.1M (plus a $1M roster bonus), and if they wanted to keep him around for 2023, it would only cost them $1.5M.   What team wouldn't be interested in that?

Yeah, in 2021 he’s basically a league minimum contract for the acquiring team (who would cut him in the offseason unless he agrees to a massive pay cut), while the Eagles would assume roughly $36M in dead cap over 2021 and 2022.

No way some team takes in Cox contract , not to mention his play has dropped off big time , old , huge contract , big time dead cap hit for eagles , equals he will not get traded

The team acquiring Cox can cut him by the start of the new league year to avoid his $1M roster bonus. His $16.1M base salary is not guaranteed.

Let’s say a team trades for him and he suffers an ACL or Achilles tear, the team would have to pick up his option (I believe since he couldn’t pass a physical, but maybe I’m wrong) and the team would hold him until he is healthy enough to cut, so they’d be out $1M in 2022 cap space.

I don’t know the rules well enough, but the biggest issue might be having to hold onto him through much of the offseason and not being able to use the cap space immediately.

Cox carries huge cap hits in each of the next two seasons. He'll count for $23,879,939 in 2021, and $23,779,939 in 2022, the last year of his deal. Additionally, as a result of some previous can-kicking down the road, the Eagles are on the hook for almost $6.5 million on the cap after his contract ends.

The Eagles would take a dead money hit spread out over two years of $21,034,757 if they traded him. But, they would be off the hook on his base salaries of $15,000,000 in 2021 and $16,100,000 in 2022, as well as a $1 million roster bonus in 2022. That $32.1 million would be better spent on players who can help the team whenever they are ready to contend for a Super Bowl again.

Just as importantly, as noted above, Cox's contract is now essentially untradeable this season. Because of the complexity of the restructure (it was actually more like two restructures — in 2021 and proactively in 2022),

Looks like a good deal for the acquiring team.

His play hasn’t warranted 3 million a year let alone more , I just don’t see him being moved , better and cheaper options if said team did their homework , this article is just Rap throwing stuff around  , IMO

Can't see anyone trading for Cox

Doesn’t appear to be any quality games today , Patriots vs Chargers  could be a good one

That’s going overboard. He’s not a bum. He’s just miscast in this defense.

And the acquiring team will only be paying pennies this season before cutting in the offseason.

The biggest obstacle is the Eagles taking the dead cap for a mid round pick.

The biggest obstacle is the Eagles would be over the 2021 salary cap.

The Eagles will not win another game this season with Hurts starting.

@LeanMeanGM

lions 33

Eagles 21

Eagles score 2 TDs in the 4th to make it seem closer than it really ever was.

According to Spotrac we’d save $1.075M but we’d push $24.3M in dead cap to 2022.

Hate to do this but I just don't see the Eagles winning
