Colts probably out of divisional race now, but still can compete for wildcard

Yup 3 games back and the Titans have the tiebreaker.   Only 2 games out of the WC though.  And they are very much 'in it'.

We won, Jets win, Colts lost, Fins lost.

Perfect start to week 8.

Now I want to see the NFCE lose. 😄

What does Jets winning do?

I'm guessing it pushes them away from the Phins, to keep that pick as high as possible.

Improve the Pick we got from the Fins, likely our best next year..

Kenyon Green?

Jets and Jags up next to continue to hang around.

SO I gott admit, Hurts looks much better with a running game and where you basically keep him from trying to throw the ball.

Now if only we could get the rest of the NFL to just lets us run it all the time, and play a team with a horrible offense every week? We might be able to win some games

Hard to believe the Jets 2 wins are against Tennessee and Cincy. I'd LMAO if they upset INDY too.

The mor teams that have more wins ahead of us and the Phins and the Colts the better

Yup. Colts will win at least 3 of (Jags x 2, Texans, Jets) to stay in the race. At 3-5 though, Colts must go 7-2 to go 10-7 and make the playoffs. Difficult, but possible.

White named the starter for the Jets on Thursday (obviously). Guess we’re getting a late 6 for Flacco.

Gotta give the Howard/Scott duo some love for their performance today.  Nice to see it.

Also helps by giving Bengals a loss, keeping the AFC playoff picture little more competitive. Essentially helps keep Colts in it even after losing today as well

What do we need? Him to play five more fully healthy games?

Did you not watch the game? Hurts did not throw well at all. Even a bunch of his completions were bad passes but Goedert made very good diving cths and coming back for the ball catches. He did not look that good today with his arm. Now if you want to say he looked good as a RB, sure.

I understand many of you want changes to happen very soon, and losing this game would expedite it. Hurts benched, Sirianni/Howie let go, etc. I’ll agree Howie should of been fired with Doug, but he’s here and will probably remain here for awhile no matter this Lions game. I also think it’s early to call for changes, it’s week 8. Halfway thru the season with 1st year HC & QB in his 2nd year being full time starter. Maybe I’m just more patient and willing to see things thru, maybe I’m wrong, who knows. But to me it’s an evaluation year, I don’t expect much from this year and haven’t since week 17 last year. I don’t think Hurts is the guy, maybe Sirianni isn’t either, but at least want to see the great/good/decent/bad/ugly from this year to see how to go forward.

I should have worded my comment that the lions not showing up was the worst possible outcome. That was atrocious.

I rarely pay attention to the mascots but this is hilarious at the end

Target was always 14 games (it could be 13, but then you're playing the "average snap per game" thing). Good thing is that the Colts played 71 snaps today due to overtime.
6 more games to go.

Is that metaphor OK?

We’ll have to see how next week’s game goes.

On paper, that metaphor is much more apropos of football than a gardening metaphor. However, after #flowerpower, we came out and manhandled the Lions. Granted, they suck, but at times, we haven’t looked much better. Hell, a lot of us thought we’d lose today.

So to sum it all up—If we lose next week, then no—his post-game boxing metaphor is not okay. If we win, then it’s fine.

All in all, this was a senseless post, and this is a minute of your life that you can never get back.

My apologies.

I guess it gave some cushion but Dolphins were always behind Jets

Disagree with that. He looked like the same Hurts just with limited opportunities.

That was my point. He only looked good because they kept him from being a QB.  LOL
