3 of Top 4, Yes.

If they're smart, they'll put Derwin James on Goedert, Harris on our WR #2 and double Smith. That still leaves 6 for them. If our WR #2 can win the matchup, we should score a ton. If not, it could be a long day.

I guess that comes down to then as whether Quez or Reagor will be the #2 WR tomorrow.

Yeah unless something changes I’m officially on board with waiting until 2023 draft for a QB. Next year just roll with Hurts again, or Minshew, or someone that’s already in the NFL. I’d rather those picks are used for the defense/OL & if they can make a trade to add day 1 or day 2 picks in 2023 then even better

I agree

Willis is on a different stratosphere in terms of arm talent and should be a tick or two faster, so I don’t agree with that one.

What do folks think of the other two comps?

Strong and Bledsoe

Ridder and Kap

Barriere and Murray

I like all three comparisons.

Pickett and Trubisky

Willis and Jackson

I think this makes me not want to draft any of them.

He also comped Corral to Zach Wilson.

Sam Howell is not an NFL prospect.

I was a BIG Howell fan last year.  This year, the more I get to watch Jalen Hurts, I'm convinced that Howell is Hurts 2.0.

Repeat after me, Eagles are 13 in ppg, despite all the ups and downs of the first 8 games.

They may finish the season in the top 10, if the OL jells, Sirianni uses more play action off a top rushing game, and Hurts settles in behind more consistent pass blocking.

If they had an above average defense (we'll see how they progress the second half), they'd be a legitimate playoff team even with Hurts at QB. Because his running ability adds a dimension that allows you to be patient with his slow development, much like Lamar, who he is similar in his impact on the offense.

Hurts  73  432  5 TDs

Lamar 76  480  2 TDs (7 games)

While you worry about most running QBs, how many hard hits has Hurts taken as a runner? Fewer than in the pocket, and far fewer than Wentz did. That's b/c Hurts has good instincts in the open field, is build like a power back (strong and squat), and he doesn't have an upright running style like most QBs.

Yes, they could upgrade, but given the whole package, they could also downgrade just as easily with a 1st rd QB, especially in this draft.

Repeat after me they have 7 garbage time touchdowns. I know beating the breaks off the lions and atlanta that’s who the offense is going to get to play in playoff games.

Corral has some potential, but he's nowhere near as talented a thrower as Zach Wilson was last year.

If that’s true makes me think eagles would be interested in corral. As there were rumors that they were trying to trade up for Wilson.

I dislike all of these comps.

Willis = Josh Allen at Wyoming. All of the tools, but bad mechanics + decision making.

Pickett = value-grade Burrow.

Howell = Drew Lock

Willis and Allen at Wyoming are in different worlds. Not even close.

How many of those points came against the Lions and in the 4th quarter when the game was over?

I still think Garoppolo is in play.

(To anyone about to write a sarcastic, negative comment: I’ll take Bill Belichick and Mike Lombardi’s opinion about QB’s over your thoughts.)

Wasnt Lombardi that called Doug Pederson the worst coach in the NFL then pederson won a super bowl.

I like Jimmy G but I don't think he moves the needle enough.

He's good not bad not elite, one can win games with him if he's supplemented with a running game, but I don't think he's a guy who puts his team on his back and carries them, he's closer to Kirk cousins than he is Aaron Rodgers.

Where do we rank in PPG in the first three quarters?

Where did we rank before last week against the lions?… oh yeah bottom half of the league They were 20th at 22.7 ppg. They jumped to 25.4 after beating down on the worst team in the league.  The packers are behind the eagles right now. Anyone honestly believe this offense is better than GB?

And they have scouts at the Ole Miss game today...however they can scout both QB's in that game.

He will be a 25-year-old rookie.

The dangers of scouting super seniors who got an extra year due to Covid.

Willis doesn’t have nearly the size Allen did when coming out. Allen was 6’5 230. Willis is 6’1 225. I’d also argue Allen has a better arm. The poor mechanics and inaccuracy I’d agreed. Also both whenever they faced better competition tended to struggle which should’ve been expected. Liberty might have 5-6 3-star or better kids. Ole miss has had 70% of their roster as 3-star or better

They were both highly athletic, erratic prospects. They each had awful games with great games. I did prefer Allen if only because his arm was truly special.

Willis is a project as a thrower. Allen was way further along than people think.

I'd rather focus on the games and not the aggregate stats.  They were completely embarrassed by Dallas, they were awful against KC, the offense wasn't in the game against SF, and they were embarrassing to watch against Las Vegas.  But, they put up big points on Detroit, and are great at scoring garbage time points at the end of games to make them look closer on the scoreboard than they were in reality.  13 ppg is meaningless when they are among the league leaders in 4th quarter points because its garbage time.   Those 8 points they got against SF in the literal last second of the game sure mattered.  Or the 14 against Dallas once they were down 3 scores.

But, sure... let's focus on the total number of points scored, not when or how they are scored.

Honestly the atlanta game and lions games skew the numbers against atlanta and lions we are averaging 38 ppg. In the other 6 games 21.6 ppg. And I’m those other 6 games they have 2 garbage time tds against Dallas, a touchdown down 28 to the Bucs, a 42-23 garbage time td in the chiefs game and 2 garbage time tds to the raiders. So really without those 6 garbage tds it’s closer 14.2 ppg. apparently our offense is elite if we play the lions, falcons or garbage time.
