This is what I meant the other day. Saying he was near pro bowl level, getting defensive about simple opinions, etc. He loves him some Hurts.

I saw some sentiment in here that Hurts played his best game of the season against the Chargers; I just don't concur at all.

His passing workload has been reduced to under 20 throws the last 2 games, the Chargers were missing several key pieces of their secondary from what was already a below-average defense, and he ran the ball 10 times again -- against 17 throws.  He's now 83 runs against 273 passes ... over a 30% ratio now.  Not good, and headed in the wrong direction.

Maybe best "drives" this year, but I agree, not his best game. And its been the same thing his whole career. He'll have some good drives, but never complete games.

My mum is from England, so I grew up on the stuff, plus Shepards pie, but a hard pass on  the Rhubarb in any form, and Kidney pie.

Single crust Rhubarb pie in the springtime? YUM. Rhubarb cooked down? You can keep it. I used to like the raw stalks just dipped in sugar when I was a kid. It may have had something to do with it being spring growth and having been cut a couple hours ago, dunno.

I'm willing to bet that Hurts is at the bottom or damn near close in passing attempts of all QBs that have played the last two weeks entirely.

Having him try to pass 40 times a game wasn't working.

It was fine and all against a winless Lions team, but what plays got left on the field on some of those off-script scampers he went on?  The scramble where he eluded Bosa was understandable (although some QBs will look for an open player downfield on that), the first time he ran the "QB draw" worked well, and there was a scramble where the back view showed everyone covered -- those are justifiable.  But there were still too many instances of pulling the ball down before any pressure developed.  The sack he took where he tripped over Driscoll was not good.

10 QB runs against 17 passes was not good.  Only involving two players in the pass game was not good.

Besides a QB hurt after 1 or 2 drives and a wildcat QB, you'd be very right.

Duck is great in small portions.  Venison sausage is pretty good if it's in a casing.

Agreed.  Duck and venison sausage is awesome.

I understand that.

I don't want to hear about how he's a pro bowler because he completed six passes that weren't to his right. It's ridiculous.

Pro bowl! 11 ppg! Franchise!

It's whatever. He'll get the year. Possibly next, but people will catch on eventually.

Yeah... Hurts is approaching Pro Bowl level...

Looking for intel.

Stock is for sure going back up for Hurts after a bit of a slide.  Sirianni is doing now what he should have been doing from the start with his young QB.  Make the running game a staple of your offense and make the job as easy as possible for the young QB.  Now over the course of the remaining 8 games you do the same thing but you ease more onto his plate in the passing game along the way.

So as a result Sirianni's stock is also going up a bit.  The issues on defense against good QBs has to get fixed though.  Although we might not really know if it really gets fixed or not though since the Eagles don't play anymore good QBs the rest of this season except the Cowboys week 18 but I doubt the Cowboys will be playing starters that game.   If Eagles beat the Broncos this Sunday then they are making the playoffs.

It was the NFL equivalent of bumper bowling.

I don't mind losing guys who have been around on the Eagles PS for over 2 years.  Assuming Howard gets signed to the roster they have 3 spots open.  Can bring in some fresh faces from outside the organization.

He wasn't on the PS. They only lost Riley today and filled his spot already. Once Howard is gone they will have 1 spot open.

"Hey Casey, what did you learn the 25 times you were on then off the Eagles roster?"

Exactly... he learned the playbook return policy... but, maybe one of those times, he forgot to turn it in.

Too greasy for my liking.

Eh, duck being too greasy is like turkey being too dry. Largely a matter of technique and how you cook it. It's a finicky bird to get to temperature while getting the skin super crispy though so I get it. It being available confited everywhere doesn't help the greasy perception either.

Here... discuss this.

Not much meat on a leg.  Seems like he wasted a lot of sauce for the glaze.

No worries.  The goal of the post was achieved.

Gotta throw homemade calamari into the ring when it comes to holiday dishes, especially on Christmas Eve.
