This is always the issue when it comes to trying to find your elite QB. You have to have the "luck" of having the ammunition (draft picks) to get a clear blue chip NFL caliber QB in the draft, when they are available. The problem is, you may not have the right ammo, when one is avail and you miss out.  So we probably have the picks this draft, and we dont see any cant miss QBs, if we try and get one next draft, we may not have the ammunition needed to get one.

Then some teams compound that issue by taking a QB that needs a lot of work and throw a year or two away on "his development" not to mention what ever draft capital they used to get that one. Only to find themselves in the same position again later on. (This is exactly how the Browns remained the Browns for over 20 years, rinse wash, repeat.)

This is why what the Bucs did with Brady was a great move,  but understand that is an outlier.  Elite QB's just are usually not available, because when a team finds one, they usually keep them.

Bottom line to me, it could be years till we get a real QB again.  Unless we are able to get a Rodgers, WIlson, or Watson somehow.

Which is why we might see the Eagles trade down in the 1st Round and pick up a second 1st Round pick in 2023 for doing so.  Then they'd still have some ammo for the following draft.  It all depends how the board falls, as it always does, but if they get an offer too good to turn down and most of the players on their board would still be in play 4-7 picks later then pulling the trigger on a trade would be a good option.

Lamar has been pretty good as a passer this year.

Last 3 games I watched, he has looked very similar.  I watched the game last weekend, this one and one a few weeks ago. In each game, teams kept him from running and he was  mediocre at best .

The last few games I have watched Baltimore, it really feels like teams have caught up to how to keep Lamar  from beating them with his legs, and make him "try" to beat you from the pocket.

It's a copy cat league, I could be wrong, but this is kind of like what happened to Vick here, once teams figured out how to defend him and get him off his game, other teams followed suit and Vick was never able to overcome it.

He went off against Indy, since then it’s been like you said.

would be the smart thing to do.

Why did he try to catch that? It looked like it was designed for him lol

It really did. I assumed he was a tackle eligible at first.

Lamar seems thrilled, we should send him Reagor.

For those not watching…

lmaoooo

Reagor would've caught it and ran backward and across the field.

So you're saying that a QB who relies on his running ability to open up the passing game for himself, when the D contains his running ability then his passing ability suffers also?

Hmmmmm.......

Ugh

 Yeah it is basically why I am not interested in a running QB.... I want a pocket passer, if he can run on top of that great, otherwise, I am not interested in a Hurts, Jackson type player.

Wow ravens are really screwing us over

Game. I knew we were doomed from the beginning.

This game is drunk.

Sammy Watkins ending the game is appropriate.

How did he not get hurt landing on his head like that?  Ouch!

welp....

Dolphins defense isn’t that good, makes it that much more confusing why they’re handling the Ravens so easily

It's a long season, so I am not worried about MIami getting a few more wins, we know the Lions and Jets will be ahead of them in the draft for sure, anyway.

Baltimore’s WRs are Awful. Reminds me of the early McNabb days with Thrash and Pinkston.

Other teams have been able to run the ball to get Miami out of their pressure looks.

Also, other teams can actually complete mass protect plays on 3rd and long. Brown has 2 drops. Watkins missed a TD. They overturned Andrews. Big plays.

Terrible skill position players in Baltimore

Copy cat league, once a team shows you the road map on beating a QB like Jackson, team try and copy that, and see if The other team can adjust. Baltimore has not adjusted yet, and may not be able to.

They have good corners. Howard and Byron Jones are pretty good. They lack a pass rush.
