HS and College FB state*  I can't see a 3rd team really flourishing in Texas.  Houston garners some interest but 90% of Texans are either Cowboys fans or don't GAF about the NFL.  I could see OKC getting a team before another city in Texas.

San Antonio built the Alamodome hoping to land a franchise.  With all the tech moving to Austin and San Antonio being the seventh biggest city in the US, much bigger audience than OKC.  If Texas is a CFB state, one could argue the same for OK.  Ohio has a major college football team and the whole rivalry with Michigan going on, yet they support two football teams.   For comparison, you can drive to two NJ teams, a Baltimore team and a DC team from Philly in less time than it takes to drive to San Antonio from either Dallas or Houston.

The choice with Goedert isn't about ability -- it's whether the Eagles will utilize him or not.

Travis Kelce -- 62 catches on 89 targets for 747 yards (12 yards per catch and 69.7% catch rate)

Dallas Goedert -- 29 catches on 39 targets for 429 yards (14.8 yards per catch and 74.4% catch rate)

I've been saying this all season; get him the ball -- he should be the Eagles 2nd target right behind Smith.  If the Eagles don't intend on utilizing him, then sure -- why pay $12-13M per season?

Travis Kelce is on the back end of his career and is still a better tight end than Goedert. His rookie season is maybe what Goedert gets to in a 17 (well, 16 with the concussion) game season.

Yes, I agree with you that Goedert should be utilized more. One billion percent. Having said that, it doesn't seem like it's going to happen. I think people think that I feel he's a bad player or actively want him gone. I do think we should have traded him because we aren't using him and can't afford him moving forward, but that isn't because of his level of play. I've always thought it was funny though that people got appalled (not you) when I didn't agree that he was a slam dunk top tight end in the game.

As for the contract, I'm thinking he wants 14/15 million at minimum and I would imagine that's why he hasn't been signed.

I disagree and look that's OK because we can disagree on things. I think he's a top TE who can block really well and makes big plays for this team. Don't just look at the stats because they are misleading.

He's a good tight end. People get uppity when I say he's not one of the best in the game, but he is a good tight end. Underutilized, too.

But again, we don't have the money for him and we aren't going to use him effectively so, it's time to move on.

That tackle was a classic square up and put your shoulder in the ground (with the opposing player between your shoulder and the ground).

Imagine still thinking we should get rid of Goedert who is a young cornerstone core player on offense that the team drafted and has actually turned out good.  At a premium position too.

So the latest of downundermike logic is that Miles Sanders should be shelved because if you remove his longest 4 carries this season then his YPC drops almost a full yard, but not a full yard.

First of all, I never said he should be shelved, I just chimed in with some stats.

Secondly, if you remove his 4 longest carries, it drops more than a full yard.

It's not like we are talking about removing a 70, 50, and 50 yard run.  His YPC drops a full yard removing a 24, 23, 23 and 18 yard carry.  That is sad.

Comparing Dallas Goedert to Travis Kelce is laughable at best

Franchise tag for 2022 is projected to be $10.8M; I'd franchise Goedert for 2022 and if he's not a top target in the offense then other options can be explored.

Just put up salsa verde and some creamy salsa verde. Except for the onion and garlic (and avocado for the creamy), everything grown in my garden. In the process of pickling some jalapeños, serranos and habaneros.  Then will put up some red salsas, a rojo chile enchilada sauce, a poblano sauce and some green chiles  in the next couple of days.

You remove Miles 4 longest runs and his YPC drops from 4.8 to 3.6.  It drops 1.2 yards and you say that is sad.

But as I already stated (and predictably you removed it from my post when you quoted) that if you remove Jordan Howard's 4 longest carries (25, 18, 15 & 11) then his YPC drops by 1.3 yards from 5.1 to 3.8.

Is that also sad or does it turn out if you remove a RBs longest runs that their YPC then drops?

I was not comparing him to Jordan Howard, not sure why he was brought into it.

What is sad, is you are missing the point.  I will say it again slowly.

For Jonathon Taylors yards per carry to drop a full yard, you are removing an 83, 78, 38 and 34 yard carry.  That is 233 yards.

For Miles Sanders yards per carry to drop more than a full yard, you are removing a 24, 23, 23 and 18 yard carry.  That is 88 yards, barely more than 1 of Taylor's longest carry.

What that says, is Miles Sanders other carries are not doing much that these not even home run carries lower his average more than a yard.

Without getting into a 20 page debate about vaccines, is there a reason it seems the position that most are not vaccinated is QB?

After what happened with DEN last season having to play a game without a QB, I'm gobsmacked that every starting QB isn't.

You're not sure why Jordan Howard was brought into it? Because it's a discussion on who should get the most of the carries with Sanders return and one of the ridiculous arguing points for why Sanders should not get the most of the carries is because his YPC drops if you remove his 4 longest carries.  But that happens with Jordan Howard too, to the extent of an even larger drop-off.

Why you are even bringing up and discussing Jonathan Taylor I have no Fing clue because he is not on this team.

I really want Kyle Hamilton. Wonder if his injury will make him drop a spot or two.

Miami is likely picking between 6-10 now, and safeties rarely go top 5, so this is very possible. If DEs go early, I think it's Stingley/Hamilton for us. I'm good either way.

While I agree in general, comparing the two with stats alone is hardly fair. Kelce didn‘t share his snaps with another top TE.

When you have a good young player that's who you need to be trying to lock up long term.

Lets face it: RB and LB are bad value early in the draft. If you take one early he better is a star, and even then it‘s probably a bad idea.

And these positions are cheap in FA too..

I don't think LBs are a bad value early in the draft.  Certainly teams have done well drafting LBs in the top 100.

Really? I thought we should be overpaying 35 year olds.

Yes, I know that, but again with what cap space? If Howie can magically draft well and free up a ton than sure, keep him.

But there's a reason he hasn't been signed yet. Should he get signed, I'll be fine with it. It's not like I hate the guy.

The now 2-7 Jets in a rebuilding year gave up a draft pick for a declining unvaccinated 36 year old QB with a generous contract.

What a ridiculous move that was.
