Ground game has worked better with Howard and Scott as they do not have many less than 2 yard carries.  You can't keep handicapping the offense with 3rd and 8 hoping you get a 60+ yard carry.  I will point out, Howard has the longest carry by a RB for the Eagles this year.

Ground game has worked better because they have called a ground game on offense!   Keep handicapping the offense with 3rd and 8?  Have you completely blacked out on this season?  There was no attempt at all at a running game with the RBs until hints of it were shown in the Raiders game.  Miles Sanders got injured the 2nd drive of that game and has been out since.  He only got to experience 1 drive of the offense where Nick Sirianni is committed to running the ball.  In that one drive he had 6 rushes for 30 yards to help setup the Eagles opening TD of that game.

Also you never answered from before.  When you said it was sad that Miles YPC drops by 1.2 yards when you remove his 4 longest carries yet you never answered if you think it is also sad that Howard's YPC drops by 1.3 yards when you remove his 4 longest carries?

Right, but you we're poo-poo'ing the jets move when the Eagles did the same thing lol.

We signed Flacco and traded a guy who was about to wear street clothes for the year

The Jets traded a guy(same pick) and he's starting.... Probably argue the jets made out better.

In regards to Flacco we payed money and they gave up a pick. What‘s worse?

We shouldn‘t have payed Flacco, but getting a pick for him in a way justifies that mistake.

I'd give Howard the second most but you're limiting the potential to get that huge 60+ yard run from Sanders that you aren't going to get from Howard if you don't give Sanders more rushes.

I'd rather take the two plays of 3 yards for a manageable 3rd and 4 than the two negative plays leading to a 3rd in long in hopes Sanders springs a big one.

It's just not a sustainable way to run an offense.

Howard and scott may not be capable of breaking off a 60 yard run but they keep the offense on time by not taking negative plays and getting what they can.

Eagles offense has been more efficient with a ball control run game, Sanders isn't a ball control back, he's a hit or miss guy.

I agree with it. Let them play.

It's unfortunate he was hurt but it's probably the right call. I mean it's close but I don't think he lowered his helmet or hit him with it.  I don't think that's the only penalty.  He can't launch himself at a defenseless player. Arguably it's a foul for a hit against defenseless player because he was going to the ground at the time contact was made.  He shouldered him in the head but I don't think he left his feet.

Jalen Hurts the last 4 weeks was tied for 23rd in completions, 28th, 30th,  21st.

The 23rd, 28th, 30th, weeks he was basically dead last but players who got hurt mid game(Winston 2 weeks ago, Tua who came in late last week, White who got hurt, etc) were below him.

on the season he's 22nd, and again, the only reason he's that high because Darnonld's been benched a lot, Jacoby Brissett/Tua mess in Florida, Russ Wilson Injurt etc and yet people still wonder why Goedert's numbers are down lol.

In that case, I'm really shocked Derrick Henry didnt put up big yards last week

Goedert had to share snaps and targets with Ertz.  Since Ertz has been traded there has been an instant increase to his production with the increased number of targets.

The good news is if Sanders is not playing well, they can play Howard or Scott.

Hamilton/Sanders/Lloyd

Every level of the D improves.

Foundational players.

Maybe even get a trade down somewhere for an extra 1st/2nd in 2023 and still pull the above off.

Agreed. I don't think there was much Simmons could do either. He was within 3 yards when the other guy made contact and tripped up Goedert. It was bang bang.

I would say assume not unless we hear different.  That was a hard shot to the head he took.

And amazingly, it was apparently completely legal somehow.

If they run the ball Sanders will play well.

San Antonio built the Alamodome hoping to land a franchise.  With all the tech moving to Austin and San Antonio being the seventh biggest city in the US, much bigger audience than OKC.  If Texas is a CFB state, one could argue the same for OK.  Ohio has a major college football team and the whole rivalry with Michigan going on, yet they support two football teams.   For comparison, you can drive to two NJ teams, a Baltimore team and a DC team from Philly in less time than it takes to drive to San Antonio from either Dallas or Houston.

I get that, but money talks.  I can't see a 3rd Texas team surviving and being able to build a fan base.  San Antonio is a city of migrants as well for the most part with it's recent boom/expansion.  Not many there are 'tied emotionally' to the area.

You plop one in OKC and give Oklahomans a reason to cheer against Texas and it's a gold mine.

I think you also have to add in the way the NFL handles expansion teams...minus that weird Panthers/Jags fluke their 2nd seasons in the NFL, expansion teams are doomed from the get go.  SA would be a hard place to build a franchise without instant success without the NFL moving to a NHL way of making expansion teams competitive.

He's one of the best safety prospects in recent memory though. Actually which safety was a better prospect this century? Sean Taylor comes to mind

Since Taylor only Berry and Adams come to mind.  There's a lot of other outstanding ones.  Granted I need to watch him more to understand the hype.

Where does Hamilton stack up against Sean Taylor, Eric Berry, Ed Reed, Earl Thomas as a prospect?

Without an in depth analysis, he's a much better prospect than Thomas.  Thomas was extremely flawed coming out.  He could tackle his own shadow and was a ball hawk only coming out.  It wasn't till his 2nd or 3rd year of PEDs on the Seahawks that he became a pretty complete player.

If they add more teams, break up that New England BS. That's not a city or state.

The now 2-7 Jets in a rebuilding year gave up a draft pick for a declining unvaccinated 36 year old QB with a generous contract.

What a ridiculous move that was.

Base salary less than $700,000. And part of that was already paid by the Eagles.  The Eagles guaranteed the salary and paid his $2,450,000 signing bonus.  So the cost to the Jets is probably around $350,000.  They lost their started, had dregs for back ups and got a QB familiar with their team for less than they paid him in 2020 for the cost of a sixth that could escalate to a fifth only if he gets a certain amount of playing time. (Probably along the lines of the Minshew deal. Flacco looked recovered in PS so there is a decent chance he plays ok on Sunday.  Hopefully he beats the Dolphins. Not sure I see this as a bad move by Douglas.

Scott ran a 4.4 forty. Plenty fast enough to break a long run.  Did last year but called back on an unnecessary penalty.

I spend a lot of time around San Antonio and travel through OKC usually at least twice a year.   OKC already has a pro football team, twenty minutes away in Norman.  UT is about an hour away from San Antonio. OKC has less than 650,000 people. San Antonio has 2 1/2 times that population.  Plus it has Austin, up the road with close to a million and if you add in San Marcos, Gruene and New Braunfels plus Austin suburbs like Dripping Springs, Driftwood etc. you are talking well over 3 million.   Even if you throw in Tulsa, the population around OKC isn’t significant.  With San Antonio, they probably get two major television markets.  One smaller one with OKC.  Make the team an AFC team and they probably don’t lose much of the Texans fans to San Antonio and the fans will have the cowpads on Fox.   It just makes sense.  The only other top ten population centers without teams are San Diego (who supported their team but lost it to the attractiveness of LA) which might make sense and San Jose, the Raiders have shown how hard it is for the Bay Area to support two teams.

with all due respect to St. Louis, they stole the Rams when they lost the Cardinals for not supporting the team and the Rams just decided they wanted to go home.  Their case is bull.

I only know about the neck.

Not sure about the rest of his spine.

If their goal was to win sure I get it but they're over of the worst teams in the NFL. Why give up any draft capital for an old QB coming off injury, who oh by the way is at risk of having to quarantine for an extended time. I think Flacco is a decent backup right now still but best case scenario he wins you an extra game or 2 at the expense of draft order. Just doesn't seem worth it for a bottom feeder.

Because in a market like NY with direct competition with the giants, they can’t just throw in the towel. They have to appear to be trying to win.   A later round day three pick isn’t much of a cost.

From an outsiders perspective what would you and others think about a team in SLC Utah?

Just put up salsa verde and some creamy salsa verde. Except for the onion and garlic (and avocado for the creamy), everything grown in my garden. In the process of pickling some jalapeños, serranos and habaneros.  Then will put up some red salsas, a rojo chile enchilada sauce, a poblano sauce and some green chiles  in the next couple of days.

Tomatillos?
