Not the best year to have top 3 picks IMO

Nope, neither lines have tons of high end talent, same for the QB’s. DB’s  are good and 2  or 3 really good linebackers.    The WR’s might be underrated though.

The NFL really need to look at the games they put on Thanksgiving.  The Lions should be as far away from the prime time TV audience as possible.  I can't be the only one who just thought, sod it, not going to bother with that game.

Time will tell.  I'm not in a hurry to rush to judgment.

I think they’ve been on Thanksgiving since at least the 80’s, time for a change there.

And it's the same for the Cowboys.   It's a convenient tradition for the Cowboys to play at home - at least make them somewhere else once in a while so they have to travel on Thanksgiving week.  Time for a change.

I miss Mark Sanchez on Thanksgiving.

I usually consider 5th round and beyond to be lottery picks; 4th round I still get irked when I see guys like Pumphrey and Hollins getting selected.

From @mattwill's list above it illustrates the Eagles scouting staff has been able to find some good gems after pick #120 overall:

Maddox 125, Sweat 130, Mailata 233, Driscoll 145, Watkins 200, Gainwell 150 have all acquitted themselves very well considering where they were drafted.

The Eagles drafting issues recently have been getting 1st and 2nd round picks right -- shaking an 8-ball would have likely given better results.

Joel Buschbaum, who is considered to be the all-time guru of NFL Draft thinking, came up with the following table of values.  Most knowledgeable Draft afficionados accept it as close to gospel.

Picks 1-5 - Hall of Famers and Franchise QBs (average of 2,350 in a range from 3,000 to 1,700)
Picks 6-15 - Perennial Probowlers and Franchise QBs (average of 1,325 in a range from 1,600 to 1,050)
Picks 16-30 - Quality Starters at Key Positions (average of 810 in a range from 1,000 to 620)
Round 2 - Solid Starters at Key Positions and Quality Starters elswhere (average of 420 in a range from 580 to 270)
Round 3 - Solid Starters and Key Backups (average of 190 in a range from 265 to 116)
Round 4 - Special Teamers and Backups (average of 70 in a range from 112 to 44)
Round 5+ - Whatever you can get (average of 35 in a range from 43 to 28.4)
UDFA - Again, whatever you can get (0)

Indeed we will see.  Why not wait until it actually plays out on the field rather than prejudging the outcome?  We get into a lot of trouble in life when we prejudge.

I've seen enough. The things people like are a mirage.

No reason he can't be.  The offense with him physically over powers teams, they don't turn the ball over often, they control the clock and they score points.

The problem playoff time will be that this defense has shown it cannot keep good QBs from completing under 80% of their passes.

We agree on that last part.

Cowboys scouts do such a good job , lots of talent on that team .

That was too easy of a TD drive

Parsons is a freaking stud

I hate that Dallas has Parsons so much.

SB win 2/2018

Drafts since have been as follows.  Help me understand "failed miserably"  Out of 29 picks 24are on the Eagles roster and 2 others are on the Chiefs and Colts rosters.

Year Round Pick # Overall   Name
2018 2 17 49   Dallas Goedert
2018 4 25 125   Avonte Maddox
2018 4 30 130   Josh Sweat
2018 6 32 206   Matt Pryor 6th Round miss
2018 7 15 233   Jordan Mailata
2019 1 22 22   Andre Dillard
2019 2 21 53   Miles Sanders
2019 2 25 57   J. J. Arcega-Whiteside 2nd Round miss
2019 4 36 138   Shareef Miller 4th Round miss
2019 5 29 167   Clayton Thorson 5th Round miss
2020 1 21 21   Jalen Reagor Jury is out
2020 2 21 53   Jalen Hurts
2020 3 39 103   Davion Taylor
2020 4 21 127   K'Von Wallace
2020 4 39 145   Jack Driscoll
2020 5 23 168   John Hightower
2020 6 17 196   Shaun Bradley
2020 6 21 200   Quez Watkins
2020 6 31 210   Prince Tega Wanogho On Chiefs roster
2020 7 19 233   Casey Toohill 7th Round miss
2021 1 10 10   DeVonta Smith
2021 2 5 37   Landon Dickerson
2021 3 6 70   Milton Williams
2021 4 18 123   Zech McPhearson
2021 5 6 150   Kenneth Gainwell
2021 6 5 189   Marlon Tuipulotu
2021 6 7 191   Tarron Jackson
2021 6 40 224   JaCoby Stevens
2021 7 6 234   Patrick Johnson

Being on the roster is a poor metric. Howie has a well documented vested interest and they are relatively cheap. Good decisions on second contracts is a better measure. Sanders probably wont even get one.

Plus opportunity cost gives that list a D grade at best…jjaw over metcalf? Reagor over jefferson? Miller and thorson?? Barf.

From what I've seen you're overrating him quite a bit

So much talent that they have been swapping out 40 percent of their oline this game because it is hard to figure out who is most awesome.
