I would spend our final 1st round pick on Carson Strong in the 20's.

Massive arm talent...yet also has consistent, repeatable sound mechanics and decision making.  In a lousy QB draft...when someone with that profile could be available 20's-30's...why would you not take a shot?

Same conference as Josh Allen, while he’s not the athlete that Allen is, Strong is a far more accomplished passer coming out of school.  Again with him it depends on how his knee checks out,

As background for those not completely up to speed, Carson Strong missed his senior season of high school in 2017 after knee surgery when an MRI revealed an osteochondritis dissecans lesion and resulted in eight biodegradable nails being inserted to mend a crack in his lateral femoral condyle bone. In January, Strong had surgery on the same knee to clean up cartilage after he felt some uneasiness in the knee during his breakout 2020 season. Prior to the start of fall camp this month, Strong has an arthroscopy to clear out scar tissue in the knee. Strong was a full participant in Nevada's first fall camp practice Aug. 6, although his knee was bleeding heavily after the session. Strong has since had to have the knee drained a couple of times and has been limited to watching practice from a golf cart in recent sessions.

He had that mirage of a regular season where he 'lit the world on fire' throwing 5 yard passes with some insane YAC.  Then wilted in the playoffs...like usual for him.

He set a ton of regular season records but for some reason turned mediocre during the postseason

Pretty much his entire career.  If it wasn't for that stretch in Denver where the D carried them, he'd have a losing record for his career.  Shockingly, IIRC he has a winning record against Brady in the post season.

@vikas83 are you fuming reading this?

Because it was widely reported.

I'm not sure what the sweet spot is going to be after Hutch and Thibo come off the board.  I want no part of Barnett 2.0, the Purdue Karlaftisitis or whatever.  We need edge rushers.

Did anyone post this? sad.

I feel like he'd say he was ready even if he was injured

I don't mind what I've seen of Engabare and Jermaine Johnson.  Drake Jackson could be a prsopect.  Not sure about Bonitto from OU; he doesn't look as big as the measurements say.

DeMarvin Leal has the versatility to play both; don't think he could excel at edge rusher though.

We have the ammo to move up for one of the DE's I'd think.  I honestly haven't delved deep into the 2nd tier of this class in terms of DL.

He's on drugs if he thinks the Eagles will take LBs with 2 picks in the top 100.

Brandon Smith in the 3rd I can see that - but with Edwards doing OK and Taylor coming along, it would seem very-very un-eagles to go with an LB in 1st.

Lineman is what I see happening in the 1st, DE DT OL.

Gotta anticipate a Sweat like development for him in the NFL.  He needs a lot of polish.

I'm not sure how I feel about moving up in this draft.  My assumption is we'll end up somewhere around 10, 14, and 17 in the final draft order.  MIA and the Eagles still have a few easy games each left.  Even moving #12 to 10 last season for Smith cost us the 3rd round pick from the Wentz trade.

You act like it leaves us with no resources to build the team?  Yes I would rather we trade picks for proven players, our success rate would be higher if we did.

Yes ideally we all would like someone better to be making the picks, do you feel confident that will happen anytime soon? I do not

It leaves us with limited resources to build the team, with a GM that struggles at bringing in top end talent in the top of the draft... how well will he do late in the draft?

A month ago we were talking about 3 top 10 picks.  The Eagles currently can not do anything right.

Hamilton is such a perfect fit for us, I really hope if nothing else we land him in the first round. Then go edge rusher and LB. One guy for each level of the D. We can get by with Slay/another body at CB for next year. We have literally nothing at safety or LB, and DE is quickly thinning out. They are by far the biggest needs, IMO.

Yeah, that was fool's gold though tbh.  MIA going 10-6 to 1-7 and cratering to a top 5 pick was never going to happen.  Wentz was always going to get his bearings under Reich as well.  We're actually pretty fortunate the Colts have gone from 11-5 last season to 6-6 so far this year.

Hey are you in the GTA? I just found out the Argos are hosting the Ticats Sunday for the Eastern final, lol. It's so under the radar, and with the Eagles being so bad, I might go to the game

I think without QBs populating the top 5 in the draft you can kiss Hamilton goodbye.  Jamal Adams went #6 overall in a similar draft and I wouldn't be surprised if Hamilton goes earlier than that.

Nope, I'm in the West.  I don't think it matters who wins that game because they won't beat Winnipeg -- as badly as I'd love to see them lose.  SASK has a shot, but last meeting the officials said no to that happening.

We may be picking higher than 6

So yeah...I decided to fix the defense.

Lol I haven't paid any attention to the CFL in like 10 years. And nobody in Toronto cares, at all. Tickets are pretty cheap too, which is nice. I think I'll still end up watching the Eagles/Jets.

His knee is a major red flag. He injured it in high school and had to have it drained again recently.
