Well nothing like Sam Howell killing his Housman chances in the first game of the season.

He is my worst fear for the upcoming draft.

Yeah Howell does very little for me

Pass

I actually saw a lot of potential. He was running for his life.

Also, :offtopic:, in terms of musical covers:

Check out Lake Street Dive.  They cover loads of songs (usually do a Halloween one every year) and cover Hall & Oats' Rich Girl live and it's fantastic.

Just a crooning female singer in 40s/50s Jazz style with a drummer, stand up base (most people playing stand up base for years admit they have no clue how she's doing what she's doing), and guitar/horns.

How’s Rehobeth? Meeting any new friends?

Speaking of Desmond Ridder that guy is a true dual threat. He’s a guy that can pass just as well as he runs. Not wishing Hurts any ill will but if this season falls flat and he opts for draft I’d love to get a guy like that.

and those are laughable grades

You also said Davis Mills was a first rounder.

Academia    Imagine in a real world job sending a business letter with no capitalization.

Be careful, it's coming. As Andrew Sullivan says, "We all live on campus now."

Academia is too inefficient to ever take over.

It's already taking over. Just look at diversity training and other woke-born enterprises. And don't forget cancellation by social media gangs.

Tom Brady is a cheater but the dude has been around and played at a high level long enough that his words in these conversations carry a lot of weight and I totally agree with him.

The league is so focused on what they claim to be player safety that they've legislated defense out of the game, when in reality it's not so much about player safety but increasing offensive production to appease to the short tension span of their younger fan base.

One can still focus on player safety without compromising the Integrity of the game.

Maybe when a guy who carries as much sway as Tom does speaks out things will change.

I doubt it though.

For me, it is not a matter whether I agree or not with their positions. It is a matter of their methods, which I find to be illiberal, anti-empirical, anti-reason, racist, sexist, and fascist.

This place sucks.  Woke. Fascist.....sucks.  Football, now that is a topic.

Admittedly, I know very little about her.  I'm pretty much out of the loop on pop (and other) music most of masses are 'force fed'.  Also admittedly, I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to music and alcohol.  That being said, these are decent covers.  Not exactly sure what type of music she was doing before (Country or pop?), but she is definitely putting energy into both covers and trying to do them her way while still paying respect to the original, so I'll give her that.  However, it's very difficult to touch Debbie Harry and the late Dolores O'Riordan.  Harry had both voice and style while O'Riordan had such a different and rangy voice (the way she sung the line "With their tanks, and their bombs, and their bombs, and their guns" with that Irish accent coming through) that I doubt can come close to being duplicated.  I'm a big fan of both Blondie and The Cranberries and thought she did a good job with each song.

My tastes are pretty eclectic.  The availability of streaming music has really lessened, in my opinion, popular music being force fed to the public. I just like what I like without being aware of the popularity of what I’m hearing.

It has been well established and requested ad nauseum for political talk to be eliminated from this forum.  The real question is why that can't be respected?  But fair enough, it's my choice whether I come here or not.
