I’m all for mental health but i wouldn’t have given this to her. I would’ve actually gone with Tate Myre the high school football player that gave his life to stop an active shooter.

The decision, article and photo shoot were probably done a month ago or longer.

The year doesn’t end in November (or even October) when they made that decision. I’m also sure they could’ve updated and done a co-athlete of the year as well and updated the cover. I’m also pretty sure time magazine has the money and resources to then also write an article about the kid and add it to this.

Maybe so, but these end of the year things don’t actually go through the whole year based purely on scheduling and production issues. I’ve seen it firsthand many times working in media.

Which still makes it insane pandering. We are celebrating someone who quit.

I don’t really care to debate that. It’s beside my point.

She shed a light on issues athletes face all the time, but sometimes try to ignore. Is Lane not the best RT in football cause he missed games with his own mental health issues?

I don’t see anyone complaining about him being on the roster cause he quit on the team or calling him a bad teammate.

I get what you’re saying. However i think the co-athlete of the year would’ve been the route to go where you have that billes edition. And then have a second edition for Myre if they didn’t want this crap the whole thing and did a bunch of production in that issue.

Couldn't remember if I shared this or not. My 10 point in archery from this year

When are we invited over for venison chili?

She was worried about getting injured. She wasn't shedding light on ish. She got the yips (or whatever gymnasts call it) and pulled herself from competition.

:roll:What about the sick catch that he made in the pre-season that all of the nut-huggers were celebrating?

I was one of those.  So hopeful I was that it would mean something and/or translate to this season.  I remember  the Bobby Hoying Cincinnati game in the same way.  Then the 1998 opener against the Seahawks happened..

Backstraps on the grill are much better.

I don't want to get deep into this, and I don't really care about Biles or ATOY. It's all meaningless.

As far as Myre, I notice that people want to lionize the kid and rightfully so for what he did. But there's such a focus on that, rather than the root cause of it all, that a 16 year old kid has to try and throw himself in harm's way to stop yet another school shooting. It's wild.

I hade a Hoying jersey....I admit it.  I lost it....or I would still have it....which I dont.

We know it's right next to your crusty socks pal

Let us know when they make him Time ATOY because he quit.  Which they won't for a multitude of reasons.  Dumb comparison.

And BTW.  I called BS on his deal as well.  His wife left him and he was dealing with real family issues.  Biles got scared to compete.....how are they even close?

Why do we even care about what Time thinks about athletes? It’s a magazine.

Do you use a compound bow or something else?

I use a crossbow now. Used a recurve and then a compound when I was younger.

That's like quitting your job and then being rewarded employee of the month.

Good show , money well earned

Just realized no response from @Bacarty2 yesterday.  The fraud must have put me on ignore again.  I 🚨🚨🚨 bet 🚨🚨🚨 just like last time, he can't ignore me.

Didn't know you were a vegan.

B.  Elmer Fudd wasn’t hunting. You would be crazy to "hunt” rabbit with a double barrel shotgun. Just the ricochet risk isn’t worth the trouble, plus that’s a lot of pellets in small game.  Hunting would be a .22.  Fudd was obviously exterminating a varmint that got into his garden.  Snare or trap works better for rabbits. Shotguns in a garden would severely damage the plants

Because rabbits proliferate in an area without predators.  That’s why I am against killing coyotes, despite the pest they can be.

Well deer aren’t "innocent” either.  More of them in the US today than when Columbus discovered America.  Their natural predators, mountain lions and wolves, because they are perceived as a threat to livestock, have been hunted out of PA.  Still some wolves but the eastern mountain lion is gone.  I hope someday the western cats make it to PA, as they have migrated as far as Minnesota.  Guess the vegan would rather deer starve or wreak havoc on cornfields. Finally, a bow isn’t a shotgun.  Now I understand why he was confused.

Some of the best conservationists I know are hunters.  Ducks Unlimited is a wonderful organization that collects properties to insure fowl migration that also helps non-game birds.  The family farm my dad grew up on now belongs to them.  They let it go to tall grass prairie.

Why do you care to respond to people who care, if it's just a magazine?

Don't argue just to argue....

@Bacarty2

Cause it’s fun.

I’ll say what needs to be said……

Time Magazine is a liberal rag.

Actually think if Time went that route they could gone into that angle about the root of the issue that cost him his life and really put a bigger spotlight on that as well in the issue.

For the optimists.  If over the next four weeks...

- NYG and CHI lose one game each (easy)
- ATL, CAR, and NO lose one game each (very likely since they play each other and TB)
- TB clinches the NFC South (see above)
- MIN loses two of it's games (PIT, @CHI, LAR, @GB)
- We beat NYG and WFT twice

Then....wait for it....we clinch a playoff spot week 17.

But what if they all tie?
