If the objective is to evaluate Hurts,  we need to see more passes from him. Unless the FO has already made a determination earlier in the season, he should be throwing 25+ times a game so the FO has all the information they can possibly get.

I think they are trying to squeeze any positives out of him with this style of offense with the hope of getting some pick for him in the off-season.

With how the play calling was vs now I’m convinced that was the evaluation period.

That question is backwards... its not who is worth a 1st round pick... we really don't know the values on the open market.   But, the question is likely better asked... who would you NOT be willing to trade in exchange for a first round pick?

Mailata.

Smith?  Meh.
Dickerson?  Maybe.

That's it.

Mailata and Smith for me

Excluding Kelce because I think he's retiring in the offseason and will stay. Otherwise I'd add him to the list

I think he has "improved” with staying in the pocket and some other things but the problem is it’s a few times throughout a game and when he’s only throwing 20 times it looks better because they are hiding him.

There was that game where he stayed in the pocket a tiny bit more but I don't remember which. He still bails though

Is that tiny bit of improvement enough? It also took forever

For the "Hurts is basically a rookie” crowd, his contract says he’ll be finished two years of a 4-year deal at the end of the season.  If the Eagles expect to get any value in return for him, this would be the off-season to move him.

What range does pickets go? Would he cost 2 or all 3 picks?

I think most would agree the offense has changed greatly after the loss to the Raiders in week 7.

Over the first 7 weeks Hurts averaged 21 completions and 35 attempts a game with a 60% completion rate and 245 yards a game. After the Raiders game, Hurts has averaged 13 completions and 22 attempts a game with a 60% completion rate and 145 yards a game. His rushing averages are slightly better, but a significant dip in rushing TD's.

Accuracy hasn't improved even with the huge drop in attempts. You would think when they do call a pass play they would be high percentage throws.

I don't even think Pickett is worth a single 1st, but I would imagine he goes in the top 15.

When army won for like the first time in 15 years in 2016 I was working at a joint command and I heard about it for like an entire month afterward. And then of course they won the next two after that so it only got worse

They've definitely had the edge past few years. When I was in, Navy was completely dominant.

Gary Danielson saying he would stomp on a players chest too is a first for me.  Granted, the LB wasn't letting go of his ankle but to advocate for stomping a guy....cool.

Ug. I hate that I have to root for the skins tomorrow.

7 trades in one draft?

Come on people, if your going to do a mock draft at least make it somewhat realistic.

I wanna circle back to a question that was discussed at the beginning of the season: who on our roster would net a 1st round draft pick if traded?  Early year the answer was probably no one.  Now I think there's a few. Mailata, Johnson. Maybe Hargrave but he's been up and down. Maybe Dickerson with how dominant he had become year one but a 1 is tough for a guard. Smith.  Kelce and Cox are probably too old. Brooks too injured.

You are kidding yourself. No one on our team is worth a 1st round pick. Maybe in madden, but not in the real NFL. You play many video games.

The way the NFL draft and draft value goes no one has a clue. A player could be a top 3 candidate and drop out of the top 10 all i one week.

you wont really know till a few days before the draft on possible value and pick position. Its a roller coaster.

You can;t watch a game and just watch and hate both teams and not root for either?

I gotta have some side to root for to stay interested in a game. Weird thing for me.

I like Edwards, but I want more impact from either him or Taylor. or someone else. Seems as though as soon as Taylor starts to show a little something he gets hurt. Hopefully another offseason in the gym, head in the playbook and plenty of practice he will develop further. But still, I need a high draft pick or FA added to that mix. Brandon Smith has the size and traits to be a 3 down guy, I would be fine with him in round 2. Lloyd would be a round 1 option. Dean while light, he plays the brand of football I need this defense to get back to.

I worry about Dean, unless he can put in some serious weight I can't see him holding up against the run.

He's a fast and explosive player and one has to wonder if those traits will be neutralized in the NFL due to his lack of size.

Don't know much about Lloyd I'll have to look him up.

Either way I can't see Howie using a high pick on a LB.

I think safety DL and corner are more of a need than LB at this point then again the eagles really need help everywhere on D.

It wasn't 7 individual trades, those little arrows represent picks received too.

I think Mailata is easily the most overrated Eagle in this blog but he’s also easily worth at least pick 20.

You shouldn't. Our battle at this point is with Washington, not Dallas. And unless we sweep them, we're going to lose a tiebreak with them, so we really need them to lose their other games. The Cowboys are going to win the division anyway, so who really cares if they win an extra game along the way?

I love that question.

I don’t think Lane has any trade value at all on his contract.  Maybe something 5-7 range if a team loses a starter pre deadline and he happens to be healthy.

Mailata is an unquestionable 1st.  I still don’t think Dickerson has that value.  With the decent sized contract, Hargrave is not a 1.  Smith is a definite 1st round value.

Thats it, IMO.  2 players.

Im not sure how many players other teams have though.  Players depreciate fast.  The Eagles, I’m sure, have a lower number than most…but I bet most other teams don’t have that many.

Sounds about right. Kelce, Johnson, Slay are great but age/contract aren't right to warrant a first.

I think Dickerson is firmly on the border. Shaping up to be a dominant guard but probably needs some second year jump to put him in the conversation for a first. Hargrave is probably the next closest but the contract and production probably isn't quite there.

As much as I love Kelce... I'd absolutely trade him for a 1st round pick.  "It's not personal... it's business."

Denver... 1st half.
