Not really even close.  Cunningham never got close.  Vick never got close.  Lamar Jackson hasn't gotten close.  Defenses will shut down the running lanes at playoff time.

Russell Wilson and Steve Young are the closest resemblances of "running QBs" who have won championships -- and they're passers first.

Actually - Cunningham lost in the NFC championship with the Vikings - though he wasn't running as much then. Vick lost in the NFC championship with Falcons vs the Eagles. NFC championship is close.

Is that the game Gary Anderson missed for his first time in forever?  He was 40-40 going into that game or something like that.
He was a thrower on that team, even Jeff George went crazy in that offense.

He throws the ball better....like a lot.  So that's one thing.....and the only thing......

Not really, he's throwing a lower completion percentage, his TD-INT ratio is disgusting and he makes even dumber decisions on throws than Hurts.  Rasul's pick 6 is a perfect example of his not having the smarts for the NFL.  He's just bigger and faster.

Bo Nix is entering the transfer portal.  That's a pretty big move.

Yup.  Where you land matters a lot, too.  Afan likes to point out that Hurts has better numbers than Lawrence, Fields, and Zach Wilson -- but look at where those poor souls ended up getting drafted.  The Jets and Jags have always been a wasteland for QBs, CHI hasn't had a really good QB in 50 years.

Mac Jones was the most pro-ready and he's completing 70% of his passes on a 9-4 team -- in large part because of the system he went into.  He wouldn't look as good with the Eagles, but he was a better prospect than Hurts for sure.

I don't think the Bears have a ever had a good QB really, I guess Sid Luckman who stopped playing in 1950? Ohio State + The Bears = terrible QB

Mailata is the 2nd best LT in the NFL right now. Trent Williams is by far #1.

Part of the problem is at the college level.  Some of these guys play at places where the talent delta is so big that it masks a lot.  Mac Jones is one of the few QB's that's seen any sort of development at the college level in a long time.
Lawrence was like Cunningham in the Buddy era...just go out there run around and make plays.   Fields was the same.  Wilson was held back by injury till his last year.

Honestly most QB's are better prospects than Hurts, which is just baffling why the FO decided to spend a 2nd rounder on the kid.

I thought he was going to the pros.   Interesting

UCF maybe?

My guess is he's betting on himself to come back and have a big season somewhere.  The injuries this year probably put him in the 4th-5th round range if he declares for the draft.  He could easily play himself in to 1st round conversations if he can find himself in the right situation next year.

I’m not talking about his stats.  I’m talking about the ball coming out of his hands.  It’s obvious he’s a better thrower of the football.  He’s more talented passer then Hurts.  Was in college and is now.

Not really saying much though.  He def at least lets it rip on 'anticipation' throws...which he gets picked too often on.  I know there's a lot of talk that Hurts was a '3rd round prospect' but I didn't want to touch hurts till the 5th.  Trading as much as Chicago did for Fields was not a smart move either.  I didn't think either will be successful at the NFL level.  Regardless of where they were going to.

@HazletonEagle brought up Christmas Vacation last night. My wife and I saw this at a store in Gatlinburg this weekend.  I’m all in.  Just got the RV and Eddie on Amazon (much cheaper).  Still pretty expensive.

Funny you post this.  My mom is setting up her town and I was talking to her about adding some pieces to it, specifically from this set.  She didn't seem to fond of the idea as her village is hers.  I might get some for myself but they are pricey.  You can get A Christmas Story stuff too, maybe even the Home Alone house.

Id take Rex over Gannon as DC right now.

I think both of these guys made it to their conference championship games, but yeah, good teams can shut down the run and make these guys one dimensional.

Lamar Jackson is 1-3 in the playoffs and sure doesn’t look like he’ll be adding to his win total this year.

Lamar had 365 yards passing, with 145 yards rushing, in a playoff loss. He had more passing yards than the Titans had yards.

3rd attempts in rushing. 3rd in rushing yards. may finish as a top 20 rusher in the league... POCKET PASSER

Jalen Hurts is a running QB.

Josh Allen is a QB who can run.

So should we count it as a win?  He turned the ball over 3x and completed 52% of his passes.

His playoff career passer rating is 68.

Teams look forward to seeing him under center in the playoffs.

Nothing baffling about it at all in retrospect... they saw him as the next Russell Wilson, so they had to go get him and make sure they didn't miss out on Wilson again.   The baffling part is what they saw to make it seem like Hurts could in any way match Wilson's game.

And those yards netted 12 points.  Lamar had 2 picks and a lost fumble.

145 of those passing yards were after they were down 28-6

You mean the game where the titans got up 28-6 then the ravens compiled 255 yards from the 4:46 mark of the third to the end of the game and still lost 28-12. Just for perspective the ravens had 269 yards through 3.5 quarters when they found themselves down 28-6 and lamar had 2 turnovers up to that point.

Yards don't equal points?   Who knew?

My aunt has a regulation size pool table that turns in to her studio 54 Christmas village every year.  Elaborate setup with all the snow,  and lights hooked up.

She has so much,  there are still other pieces set up in different areas of her house too.

Those displays give a warmer cozier appearance than that one from the movie,  but if you could create a village made up of the various neighborhoods from different Christmas movies that would be very cool.

Christmas Vacation

Home Alone

A Christmas Story

Christmas with the Kranks would be a good addition.

Obviously, it doesn’t look good when the far more talented and more accomplished better than best possible version of Hurts is still clearly not good enough.

But does Lamar have Hurts swag ??
