Well, it's not so much fun when the rabbit's got the gun.

This is an intellectual battle, not a gun battle, and you don't have the ammo.

I could see Dougie P being a reactionary hire in JAX the same way he was after chip

Chip much like urban was a huge D, pederson was hired because of his " emotional intelligence" and he he was well liked by his staff and players and the organization.

That team organization could use some emotional Intelligence, while I don't think Doug is a great talent evaluator or X and O guy I think with the right staff he can like he did in Philly be a good leader of men, just hide your secretaries Mr Kahn😉

Khan hired Meyer as a splash to get exposure for the brand, just like the Jags for some reason travel to the UK every year -- if your goal isn't to relocate the franchise to the UK I would have trouble rationalizing it from a competitive standpoint.  Unfortunately he doesn't make decisions based on what's best for the on-field product to get better.

He owns a soccer team over there , why not expose your football team there too

I guess the question ultimately comes to do whether or not one believes that Jones can essentially become Tannehill, and whether or not that would be 'good enough'.  I think a Tannehill led team can work for a team with a very strong defense and a very strong running game, where he is almost never counted on to carry the offensive load, but rather to take advantage of the opportunities the running game can open up.   Jones might have that as his ceiling.  I think he could get there, if he eliminated the bad plays.  The second part is that this team is very far from being a defensive juggernaut type and Howie has shown absolutely no proclivity to being able to draft for such a team.

Therefore, I would only be interested in him, with a new GM and likely a new DC... preferably one that is connected to Pittsburgh or Baltimore.   (and yes, I know that we have dipped into the Baltimore well before, but not with a defensive coaching staff looking to play the style that Baltimore plays.  Those guys were trained in the 'Baltimore' way and identified players that fit that style, then were asked to find targets for a completely different style of defense.  We are seeing that Rasul Douglas, for example, can play... just in a completely different system... one that we never ran.).  Ultimately, what this team needs is a SINGLE vision.  Right now, this team just swings on the pendulum from one extreme to the other and has no organizational philosophy unifying the entire thing together.  We want productive players in college, regardless of athleticism.... then we want athleticism with no regard to production... then we want big WRs... then speedy... then this, then that...

Yup Steelers whom have the most super bowl wins if any franchise have had a singular organizational vision for basically since I've been alive.

The rooneys by most are the best owners In the NFL

Where as In the same time Pitt has win multiple super bowls over 3 decades under one owner and 3 coaches the eagles have won 1 under multiple coaches owners and organizational philosophies.

Even Lurie the franchises most successful owner, as you say swings on the pendulum from one extreme to the other with no unifying organizational philosophy other than claiming to be the gold standard

I can appreciate what Lurie has done but at the same time think they could have had even more success if they just had a consistent singular vision.

We'll see going forward.

I am sure if I looked at your posts recently that you probably try to insult somebody in every discussion you’ve had cause they don’t share your view. Because that’s what you do consistently  And that’s why I don’t want to have a discussion with you.

Go look at what I wrote. I had a conversation about how Jalen hurts has stats proving he’s not producing like a top 10 quarterback (which means throwing the ball as well as running). I don’t give a flying F about you.

If you want a good laugh, head over to the Jalen Hurts thread so you can see someone claiming Hurts is a top 10 QB in football.

Both have terrible o-lines, which I think is huge.

It absolutely is, especially those two guys and Tua the past two seasons.   I think Trubisky is overall better than Jones, Jones has a better arm and might be a slightly better athlete, although Trubisky is a better runner than most of us saw in Chicago.
What’s concerning about Trubisky is why didn’t Carolina just sign him, instead of trading picks for Sam Darnold?     Did Rhule really believe Darnold was better, or is there an underlying issue like practice habits, being an a-hole etc… for the reason why he didn’t sign Mitch to be the starter.

That franchise is a dumpster fire on a garbage truck driving off a cliff to hell...

Good Ownership in the NFL is Paramount to success and seems the JAX owner is interested in financial success more so than on field success, someone should tell him he could make more money if his team actually won games...

Here's a useless ranking... They put Hurts at #20.  So, I guess Hurts isn't top 10.

You do have to question what their ranking is based on.  Their own metric (QBR) doesn't seem to be in any way, shape or form connected to it.
Is Hurts' QBR really 48.5?  How is that 'top 10'?  What about passer rating?  Completion pct?  yards?  Yards per attempt?    Is there any metric for a QB where Hurts actually qualifies as top 10?

Shhhh someone could get upset for posting those stats. Return to the blog and then try to throw insults at you. I think if you say his name three times like beetlejuice he randomly appears.

Yes and the Steelers don't have any asterisk next to theirs.

And the pats won all 6 with one owner one coach and one qb with an organizational vision of cheating

F the pats

Maybe a bit extreme and likely base on recency, but it's consistent with the impression that Sirianni isn't the problem.

Even if we just compare his QBR to the others on this list....it's astonishingly low. Whatever they use to calculate QBR, only Dak?? is somehow lower?

I took the average rating of this list, less Minshew, and the average rating is 56.15.

So, at the very least, you could easily say he's below average. Ipso facto, he's not top 10.

True I remember that one time Reid and the eagles got busted for taping other teams, or when tony dungy got busted because his whole team was deflating balls.

The Pats have been busted twice by the league for cheating during seasons they won.

And what did the league do, destroyed the evidence and fined the coach and took away picks.

One can argue whether they should have been punished more strictly but it's pretty cut and dry that they cheated.
