With Foles, it's RPO: Run-pass.
With Hurts, it's R-P-R: Run-pass-run.

It makes it significantly harder to defend. Most teams don't do this because
1) You need a QB who can both run and pass
2) You don't want your QB getting hit

Well if it is run pass run. He won't last long in the nfl. That said Nicky could have run if he wanted to but he chose not to.

Blake Lively.  Come on bro.

She is one of those chicks I recognize but never remember her name.  I have seen her in The Town and Green Lantern, but that was 10 years ago.  She does not really have a catalog of movies that make her memorable.

I'm not sure running QBs are that vulnerable, Vick had a long career, for example.

You take worse hits in the pocket. With your eyes downfield, as a stationary target, if you don't see blitzers come free or an DL cleanly beat a block - wham!

Now some QBs, like Wentz, are awkward running and a much better bet to get hurt when they scramble.

Hurts has a compact, RB body, and isn't going to take a lot of bad hits on the move where defenders can't key on him.

I'm probably double you age or close to it and I can remember her name

People can form opinions on whether they think a player will be good or not without being "haters" and 1 game is way too early for you to be blowing a trumpet. Personally I didn't think he would be good, but I rooted for him on Sunday and I hope to be wrong. Looking like I might be but still too early.

For the record I've been wrong the other way too.

The bolded is where I was.  There was legitimate concerns from last years sample.  Huge drop in second half completion percentage and lack of second half scoring drives.  Those were not issues on Sunday.  Now we will see if the positives from Sunday continue against a much better 9ers defense.  My real concern this Sunday is the Eagles defense.  They are going to see a whole lot more offensive fire power this weekend.

You must be an Eagles defense hater.

Not even close buddy.  But, I would be impressed if a 94 year old could turn on a PC, let alone keep up with a message board like this.

Yes, but, Cox was the only player with significant savings that we could have cut/traded next year to help with the cap.  Now the 10 million in cap savings we could have acquired are gone.  Before the Mailata extension and Cox restructure, the Eagles had a combined 17.9 million in cap room for 2021/22.  All they really did was restructure Cox, guaranteed he will be on the roster next year to afford Mailata.  I will update the numbers once the contracts are updated on OTC.

Assuming we don't use the cap savings this year, they will rollover into 2022. That means this makes Cox MORE tradable, not less as the acquiring team will get Cox on a cheaper contract.

Good first win.  Where do you think we still need a better/upgrade at starter?  With all the picks next year who would you want in return for say a 2nd or 3rd rounder to solidify that spot?

Regarding a "running QB"...

If running is your 3rd or 4th option on a play (not including designed runs or 4 minute/2 minute drill when you are desperate), and you still look to throw first otherwise, and can do so with above average accuracy, you can last in the league.

If running is your 1st or 2nd option on a play, most likely you do not trust your vision/arm/throwing ability and just hope to get yards by running, then you are probably only going to last a few years.

In the first scenario, you also need to be smart about sliding, running out of bounds, and taking a couple less yards to avoid contact.

Obviously. But where’s the harm in being kind to people?

Absolutely no harm at all, except to the ego's of those that need to be mean to other people in an effort to validate their own self worth.

For religious reasons, not performance reasons. Good reach to be negative.

Like any signing bonus, it is spread out over the life of the contract.  So half of those savings will apply to the dead cap hit in 2022.  The 11 million in savings will be 5.5 this year, and 5.5 next year.  So in 2022, to release or trade him, it would have been 10.6 million cap savings with 13.1 dead.  Now it is 6.1 savings with 18.6 dead.

Isn't this what Nick Foles won the superbowl with?

I was gonna say the same thing....

Didn't he have his 27-2 season playing like this as well?

Yup, and then everyone caught onto Chips offense, and they were able to defend it, but attacking the QB.

Eh that Green Bay game was a gift for him.  Should have been interception that bounced off defenders hands into DeSeans for the TD.  Then a wildly underthrow ball to Cooper that ended up being a TD.
