I really hate the argument well there’s been some busts so we shouldn’t do it. No crap it’s not a perfect Fing science. if all 32 teams had a perfect science on how to do it then all 32 teams would have a franchise quarterback. There’s a risk when you do it just like any player you select. Just like there was a risk when they went and got Carson Wentz. and if they didn’t do that they don’t have their only Super Bowl. If there is a quarterback that they love, you don’t dick around. if you think he’s a potential franchise changer and better than what you already have then go get him. Now they don’t think that don’t force the issue.

also hurts is eligible for a contract extension after the 2022 season. So if they think he’s the future and he’s the guy to lead them forward they aren’t  going to wait to give him a contract after the fourth year like Dallas did with Dak. he doesn’t have a 5th option. So the cheap quarterback is cheap for 2022. Then rent is due.

Well, Howie has drafted some busts, so HE shouldnt do it!

Watching the replay of the game on NFL network......Eagles defense is ranked tied for 9th overall?  Kinda surprised by that.

Not that surprising, really.  Those rankings are based on yards allowed.  And since they've gone heavy run, opponents dont rack up big yards because they don't possess the ball much.

I trust Howard way more in that situation. Plus Sanders loves to run OOB

Pretty solid game overall particularly considering the early turnovers and hole on the scoreboard.  The Eagles are a classic mediocre wild card contender level team.  Enough good things to make them interesting but full of holes.

The key asset moving forward is the OL especially if Kelce returns.  If the Eagles can beef up the other side of the ball starting with the DE position they can be a good team moving into 2022.  To go beyond "good" they need to sort out the QB.  One option is to build a really really good D and hope the OL can stay healthy without have to use a bunch of draft picks.  That approach could work with Hurts as an excellent game manager and rushing threat.  If the D is good enough they can be a real threat with that approach.  The other option is to build up a passing game which I'm thinking does not include Hurts.  I'm ok either way but what I don't want to see is a path that includes hoping Hurts develops into a strong passer because I just don't see it happening.

Exactly.  No way this D is a top 10 D.  Closer to 20th than 10th if you ask me.  Very pedestrian.

Haters gonna hate.

Hurts has the game of his career against a legitimate defense, despite Goeddert dropping two passes and Ward a TD pass. Made a couple mistakes but otherwise the game of his career.

20/26 with three drops for 296, but it's not good enough. Bring on Mishew!

Team spots WFT 10 points then outscores them 27-7 the rest of the way.

Guess they should have won by 30.

New player?

Yeah, Sanders telling Philly fans to stop booing players should go well

Gilbert had a better QBR than Hurts.

Gilbert played well, especially for a guy that wasn't even on the team last week

I'd be more interested in yards/drive... ppg... etc.

I think the response to him would be:  stop running out of bounds.

i'm hoping this guy drops off  a playoff run at my house

Legitimate defense?      I’m convinced, you don’t watch the games.   And yes, should have won by 30.  The Skins fielded a 4th preseason game roster.  On both sides of the ball.   But hey, Minshew only played well because it was the Jets.   Right?

Do you watch the games?

They had three of four starters on the dline, the two starting linebackers and three of the five starting DBs for most of the first half.

So eight starters for the first half, seven for the second half.

Look, I know the Eagles playing well makes you miserable for some reason, but there's no reason to distort reality. The Eagles put up 200 more yards of offense against the WFT than the Cowboys did last week against many of the same players. Regardless of how you feel about it, this is a really good thing.

It's like the better they play, the more angry some people get.

Nice to see you in here, Matt.

Leave it to you to get that expression correct. You could have just gone with
"Balls to the Wall", tho I've never really understood that one....:smoke:

From my understanding. "balls to the wall" originated in WWII aircraft: exceeding normal engine limits by moving the throttle into WEP (War Emergency Power).

Video sucked.  But hey, when you gotta go, you gotta go.   I’m just shocked that a Dolphins home game had so many fans.

This is what got me lmao.

"Pro tip for all you fellas out there: If you’re going to go through the considerable trouble and expense of professing your undying love for your girlfriend on the stadium scoreboard in front of thousands of strangers, you might want to make sure you’re not in line for a hot dog when the message is scheduled to go up. These things don’t just randomly happen. It’s not like Hard Rock Stadium was like "when do you want this to go up?” and he was like "dealer’s choice, keep me on my toes.” He must have known it was coming"

Underrated aspect of Sirriani rookie season....success with challenges.

Nice to have that finally.

So, is he a Jets or a Dolphins fan?  Is there more to the shirt?

I remember my brother had the Dallas shirt with the big star growing up. Cowboy fans would come to high five him, then noticed the word sucks at the bottom.
