:offtopic: rant:  My 9 month old son woke up fussy with a cough and 101.5 fever this morning...goes to pediatrician and tests positive for COVID.

My wife and I have been pretty careful at home with him...he's had minimal other contact in the last couple weeks...so the exposure is almost certainly from me working at the hospital and taking it home (jokes about the landscaper or milkman and my wife are perfectly acceptable and reasonable).

I work at a US News/World Report top hospital.  As an asymptomatic healthcare employee with both work-related and home exposures, I had to move heaven and earth just to get a 2-day PCR test and could not get a rapid.  I was turned away multiple times by employee health because I'm asymptomatic...and was told there is no need to quarantine, keep seeing patients.  Now, if I were a backup offensive lineman for the Eagles, I'd have instant access to both PCR and rapid tests.  When I asked one employee health person what the hell I needed to do to get a test, they even sarcastically said "sign a contract with the New York Giants and that might help."

I never liked the healthcare hero worship from a year ago, but the discrepancy between our protections/options and those of the professional sports leagues is leaving me bitter enough right now to have lost all interest in supporting them.

Back in October my wife and my son both tested positive for Covid but I had no symptoms. I called employee health for the hospital I work at and they basically told me that if I have no symptoms I don’t need to quarantine. When I asked about getting tested they basically said if I don’t get tested then I can’t test positive and have to miss work.

They have added someone every day since Sunday. They aren't getting the big batches like other teams though.

I realised that after I posted which is why I amended my post.

And yet only one offensive lineman from the unit is represented in the Pro bowl.  Shame

Yup that only one guy from the O line made the pro bowl is a travesty.

U think lane missing games hurt his chances but he's played at an all pro Level this year

I think he's the best RT in the league

LT is a tough spot to get in at and Tyron Smith making it is more playing in a big market team with a good record and has multiple previous pro bowls but I wouldn't say he's played better than Mailata this year

I think those 2 have a strong case as pro  bowl snubs

I don't know why Solak would assert Hurts has "clearly done enough to win the starting job next year, take the Eagles to the playoffs this year ... " -- he hasn't accomplished that yet.

What happens if Hurts spits the bed in the last 3 games and the Eagles miss the playoffs??  He's being more than a little presumptuous.

Top qbs make that throw to reagor for the TD instead, and still was a good throw from hurts a better catch from goedert.

Does anyone know if Davian Taylor(LB) will be back from injury?

Any updates on Jack Stoll (TE) ?? He took a big hit and landed on his head...

I’d take linderbaum regardless if kelce returns next year if that were the scenario. That’s a talent i simply can’t pass up with kelce being 33. And i Fing love kelce. If he was younger i would begrudgingly pass up on him.

I’ll give you the out if they use all three picks the bet goes through and if they don’t it’s void.

Linderbaum looks like he'll be really good and I think could easily be a starter at C for 10+ years and is that worth a 1st round pick when the Defense is sorely in need of Defenders and Stoutland can turn 7th round rugby players into starters?

I haven't seen anything on Taylor since he went on injured reserve a month ago. Sirianni said he could still return this season but no word on that yet that I have seen.

Jack Stoll was limited today with a knee injury according to today's injury report. I guess he is fine otherwise.

Depends on who’s on the board. I’m not passing up a better graded and rated prospect just cause we need defense at this moment. That tends to get you into trouble.

If Squirts wins 2 of 3 no way will they take Pickett or any QB

Thata Pro Bowl Jalen Hurts to all of you all.

For someone who’s is speed he’s taking a long time to recover…

True and there are a bunch of highly rated defenders in this draft.

Taylor had surgery. I doubt he's back this year.

Stoll went back in the game after the hit. He's fine, relatively speaking.

And kirk cousins is also an alternate.

somehow lamar jackson who has the 15th best QBR in the league and 23rd best QB rating  (just one spot ahead of hurts) with 16 passing tds and 13 ints (only 2 rushing tds in the season) and in his last 7 starts has 8 tds and 10 ints made the pro bowl team (not as an alternate).

apparently it’s easier to make the pro bowl now than getting into asu…

I'd hate to find out who the Eagles would put in Slay's spot at outside CB.

McPhearson, most likely.  They have better depth at CB than most realize. None will replace Slay, who is having an All Pro season.

I’m not against taking a defensive player if they are graded and rated equally. However I’m against just going defense if the two players are graded and the defensive player isn’t thought of as highly nor long term think he’s a better prospect than the offensive player

McPhearson has been quiet as a mouse this year. I mean, I know he's a 4th rounder and all....but I don't remember hearing his name once this entire year.

Yet he has played.  Not hearing a CBs name is a good thing.  I also think Gowan has promise as an OCB.  Or they can move Maddox outside and play Scott or Vincent in the slot. All sorts of options at CB. Hopefully they won’t need any.

Way way :offtopic:.

Joan Didion died today. IMHO the best prose writer of the last 50 years.

Pro Bowl has always been about popularity. Hurts probably made it cause he’s a great fantasy football QB. Same with Lamar.

True. Josh Allen should be in over Lamar. And ditto for Stafford over murray. Both have been more consistent the entire year than lamar and murray. Also neither missed games.

League probably stocked up on rapid tests before they became scarce. PCR is all about the Benjamins. What I read on the CDC site, exposed a few weeks ago, was the rapid test should be taken 5-7 days after exposure for a fully vaccinated and boosted asymptomatic person (probably to have the possibility of a load that will register is my guess). My son and his girlfriend were exposed last weekend and had no problem getting a PCR test.  If it helps, I got a rapid test on Amazon in five days.

Quarantining for Christmas?

Pro bowl is a joke.  Lamar Jackson over Allen, Murray over Stafford.  Pro bowl is not about the best players.
