Not intentionally... but my goodness.   Hecky's offers SWISS for the cheesesteak!  Marinara, Mustard, Vinegar as a spread for it?    Cucumbers and Olives as toppings?   What is going on up there?  😭@HazletonEagle I am starting to understand why you eat at Taco Bell now!

Is a lot of places offer different crazy variations of cheese steak. You obviously don't get those. Stick to what's good.

Nope, Mayo tomatoes and lettuce

Did Nick say in the PC if McLeod/Dickerson are trending towards playing?

I'm not saying in St. Louis nobody watches the games, I'm talking about nobody sees it on TV. Nobody - it's not a market where we're gonna have a bunch of primetime games. Like, for years of my career it was like, 'Hey, noon game. Hey, noon game. Hey, noon game.' There was never primetime, there was never an opportunity to show what we could do in front of 65,000 people. Because the organization was bad, and we weren't winning, so I'm not blaming the fans.

"But when you get to a place like Philly, I just felt like they adopted me, man. I was like, 'Oh, this is the NFL.' And the sick joke of it was, I'm in Year 10. So I never got to really experience something like that my entire life. And I was like, 'Well, at least I'm going to make the best of it.'

"[...]

"Players don't know how lucky they are, I think, to be in a place like Philly. I would've - if I could've kept playing a long time there, I would've played 'til the wheels fell off."

Eagles really need to hire him. Move Spads to Chief Inspector of PE.com’s EMB  and just do videos of Chris and Fran, no holds barred.  I would actually go to PE.com for that.  Can you imagine during preseason if the sideline reports were Chris?   Much better than Spads.  Now imagine if Fluff with Spads and sometimes he lets Fran talk  (the current version of Training Camp Live) was Chris and Fran?

Rasing Cane's is better, but they are only out west.

Cane's is trash...if you've had Zaxby's.

That is my favorite cheat day item from there.

Chicken fingers for adultery 🤔

Been to Zaxby's, they have them in Utah, they're ok, they have like 5 million sauces if that's your thing.

burger king is disgusting but I did try their new hand breaded chicken sandwich. Not surprisingly, it was disgusting.

I'm pretty sure that the forever contract with the DoD is the only reason BK still exists.

There's only Zax sauce...all others don't matter!  Makes sense that it was only ok in Utah.  Gotta go to the south for it.  Didn't know it extended past Louisiana

Provolone. Otherwise it's inedible...unless you like Taco Bell, Chipotle, Wendy's McDonalds, Arby's, Chik-fil-a(sp?), Popeye's, etc. in which case you can hoover anything.

No need to mention them.  Living in the Philly burbs there's a mom and pop shop all over the place.  No need for a chain.  I prefer the smaller shops, and normally, you get to be known by the owners/operators.  It's just being part of the neighborhood.

Lee's Hoagie House is my fav.  The general store by my parents, Spors, makes a killer hoagie as well.

I wish we had a zaxbys out here. We have canes. It’s good especially when you consider the other options.

So we are #3 overall in DVOA after one week.  Top-10 in all three phases.

(Adjustment for opponent strength won't be added until week 4.)

Yeah I didn't know it was a southern thing, they don't have Zaxby's here in Kansas but did in Utah, weird???

I'm shocked, shocked I say, that no one has mentioned the best hoagie house in Philadelphia. (I am equally guilty but now I am rectifying it) Koch's on Locust in the 4300 block. The best meats and, if you're destitute, you can hang back in the crowd that assembles there daily and feast on the cold cuts they distribute freely to the waiting multitudes. It's been the best sandwich shop in Philadelphia since forever and I am ashamed not to have mentioned it before.

What is the parking situation down there?  Is that what you would suggest?

I mean there's parking in decks but you will get charged for it.  The last game I went to was the Sunday night game in 2015 so it's been awhile but I don't think the parking has changed for the better.  It was fine finding a spot but I think it was  fairly expensive like more than $20.  I also decided to park in a deck rather than a lot.  It also wasn't great getting out of there that night.  I think day games are likely less hectic.  My thought is that the light rail in would help me avoid a lot of the traffic.  My firm also has an office downtown and I think we can get passes for parking there on gameday but I am not sure.  I will let you know.

Those are 2 paces I didn't get to try on my trip across the country. I was to busy stuffing my face with Culvers butter burgers. Holy sheet I couldn't stop eating those!

I buddy of mine went to Penn.  He registered an intramural softball team with a bunch of names from the student directory and then would invite his friends in the area that didn't go to Penn.  They never checked IDs, so about a dozen of us would just show up and play intramural softball against real Penn students.  Over the years we played several night games in Franklin Field and a variety of places around campus.  Most of the time we'd end up at his off-campus house on Baltimore Ave to drink/smoke.  Koch's was only a few block away.  Maybe my most enjoyable sandwich-eating experiences occurred in West Philly.

Yeah they are really good. Their cheese curds are also really good. It’s a good place when you get the ice cream too to have a 4000 calorie meal.

Your loss. I'm one too, but I was not always. Looking for recommendations, here, of course. Bryn Mawr, so, west of the city.

I hope we get to see Marvin Wilson get some PT at some point this year.  If they can tap in to his potential he could be a steal.

I got the double patty with bacon and American cheese with a large cheese curds and large crinkle cut fries and their house made root beer.

I'm lactose intolerant... Custard would of really did me in. If you step in any wet poop out there that was me I didn't make to the gas station a couple of times

I went to college at Drexel.  I can't go over to the UPenn campus.  It just turns my stomach.

I'm a Delco guy.

La Spada's in Parkside and Ridley is the classic for hoagies.
Leo's Steaks and Hoagies in Folcroft is great.
If you are looking for more of that 'high pressure' ordering experience, try Jim's in Springfield.   (same as the place on South Street)
Phil and Jim's in Parkside is also a nice one.

And then there's Cocco's Pizza in Primos.  Order from there and you get 10% off at the Gelateria next door (owned by the same family).

I'm not up on the Main Line.  My wife went to Eastern, but we didn't eat there very much... too expensive for a couple of college kids back then.

I worked at Subway back in the day.

Theyre steak comes in a big plastic bag, pre cooked with the green peppers and onions mixed in the bag.

In the morning we'd portion it out into little paper containers  then before one puts it in the sandwich wed nuke it, which makes the steak all rubbery.

I'm sure it's probably the same "steak" they use in dog food and taco bell, low quality fatty scraps.

Jersey Mike's uses higher quality meat, and fire house subs, which I don't like steams their meat instead of microwaving it.

Subway though as far as Philly steaks, is at the very bottom of the quality totem pole

Their chicken Cesar wrap is edible if you make modifications to it.  Their cold cut sandwiches are cold cut sandwiches.  At our if the weather was inclement, Subway was the only "restaurant” in walking distance.  Most required driving at least a couple of miles. It was only open during business hours and always had fresh baked bread.  Best delis are real delis and these chains are killing those.

My suggestion remains, avoid the chains.  Search out local specialties.   Ask locals what is unique to the area and where to get it.  If you like precooked and warmed up or deep fried then continue to go to the chains.  Best fried chicken sandwich I ever had, I probably couldn’t find the place again. Little fried chicken joint northeast of Memphis, not on the freeway. Had a vinegar based slaw on it that was to die for.
