The Eagles need quantity over quality but both would be the ideal. I am really against combining 1st round picks to move up. Sit still and grab the BPA please.

Agreed here, 3 of the first 4 picks should be Defense. If not, all 4.

No, recent interview by Doug indicates that the Reagor decision was a Howie decision.

Covering his ass? Because he was very happy at the time and it was reported that he was the primary guy lobbying for Reagor.

Man, Jordan Howard looks great! Can't even tell he's injured.

The  Bill Parcells mentality as a head coach. He gave the scouts and GM, heights, weight, arm lengths, and speed for each position, no exceptions.   If you have exceptions, then your team is full of them.

I've heard of a few teams that do this, like the Rams with their DBs, they have a certain set of characteristics a DB needs to meet if he doesn't fit all the criteria they don't draft him.

This method is one way to avoid drafting RBs that weigh 165 pounds😒

Can someone smarter than I am explain the rationale for not involving Gainwell more in uptempo? With Gainwell and Goedert's multiple skill sets, you could run a whole bunch of formations in the hurry-up. Puts pressure on the defense, takes some off Hurts. Allows you to establish an actual rhythm in the passing game. Am I crazy?

I thought it was mentioned at some point that Gainwell started as a WR at Memphis and then converted to RB.  Going by his Wikipedia page he played QB in HS and switched to RB during camp at Memphis.  He only played 4 games as a freshman and decided to red shirt.  So he only played the one full season in 2019 (he opted out a week before the season opener in 2020 after multiple relatives died of COVID) where he did have 51 receptions as a RB, but I do believe he ran some routes from a WR position (think some of his highlights showed this) and not just as a RB out of the backfield.

I thought he'd be good to use as a mismatch weapon.  Get him lined up on a LB on the LoS type of thing.  Honestly, I'd rather him than Ward or Reagor as a slot WR as he offers more athletically than Ward and hard to imagine his route running and hands are worse than Reagor's.

And something I hadn't heard before, maybe I just missed it, but it says him and Cox are cousins.

That may be in his future, but HCs tend to want rookies to master their primary position before throwing more at them (like learning another position).

Pretty sure I see Lurie there behind him, rubbing his shoulder .... God Bless that man.

What is this material that they are using for a practice field - recycled carpet, sawdust, grass well-salted?

Do you have a link to that interview by chance?

At one point he is asked why the Eagles drafted Reagor over Justin Jefferson and he kinda laughs and goes "You're asking me?"

Doug comes off as an honest guy and an accountable guy.  He doesn't strike me at all as someone who would lie and throw someone under the bus if it's not true.

Howie in the other hand is a complete weasle and a snake that I wouldn't trust to walk my dog.

Nick did play PRS with the prospects in the pre-draft process, but I'm referring most specifically to the draft itself when the team is on the clock -- which is why I said 'selecting'.  If I'm the GM and there's any doubt on who the pick is I'm looking to the VP of Player Personnel before I'm looking to the head coach.

I don't mind the HC having a say in the draft room at the point of selection.  Doug should have been given some deference.  The problem is that I think Howie is more concerned with appeasing the right people vs. making the right pick.

I'm not some sort of yard guru but I think that grass needs watering.

Sounds good to me, although I'm not committed to linebacker.  Like the Eagles, normally I'd want to avoid LB round 1 (with the type of defense we have played over the years).

But the NFL is changing and so too is defense.  It used to be that CB and edge rusher gave you the best/only opportunity for a game wrecking player.  Now, defense is more about surviving shootouts and timely stops/turnovers.  And LB is as instrumental in that as the other positions.  So I'd just be happy with best defensive player available in that spot...which certainly could be a LB.

This is why I put a rangy ballhawking S high up on the most important positions on D in today's NFL.

Some type of Bermuda, probably, cold makes it go dormant, thus the brown color

Yes - Also Doug Pederson was a much better coach than Bill Cowher.  Cowher only won because of Lebau.  Basically his Championship came because Peyton Manning choked in their game and they played a turnover prone Jake Plummer in the AFC Championship.  I mean their NFC challenger was Seattle that was a fluke of a team.

The team got worse after Reich left because of poor drafting, not adequately addressing the receiver position and appeasing a prima-donna QB.  Despite those issues, Pederson took the team to the playoffs.  Pederson won without Reich and without talent.  Calling him a bad coach is idiotic.

How was he a prima-donna QB when he had to deal with injuries to the Oline and receivers. Plus the receivers weren't good and Howie sucked at finding someone until Smith

I think any of us are going to appease the people that sign our paychecks.

Plenty of reports out there of him needing to be babied by the organization, openly disregarding what coaches are telling him in meetings and refusing to run certain plays in practice.  He was not a player who was open to being coached and receptive of coaching.

Honestly, you would think they would use some sort of hybrid that wouldn't be completely dormant over the winter.  I think the problem would be root damage to the bermuda given the usage.
