Im not a big fan of guys sitting out of their last bowl games but come on it's not like he was playing for a championship,

Every bowl game other than the championship playoffs are just meaningless money makers.

Why risk it so one can say, I went out on top when I won the Third Bank wedge salad bowl???

Who cares, he's already like 35 years old Anyway what's he got to prove?

Save it for senior bowl combine and  pro day.

I never understood this. If you are a guaranteed 1st round pick and youre 4-5 months from getting life changing money then its unbelievably stupid to risk injury. They are giving up their bodies for basically 100k over 4 years to get that money. While the colleges make millions.

Chase basically gave up his last year, got paid, and killed it for the Bengals this year. The players not playing is no indicator that they don’t like football. It actually should be a plus, it shows they can make good decisions.

Going forward, these college players will be paid so my opinion will change.

Before I forget to do it, 30 to 13 Eagles.

Bonus-I'm rolling with blocked kick by the Eagles; any kick.

@LeanMeanGM

HNY.

Anyone watch that Man in the Arena doc about Brady?   Looks like the next episode is about the 2017 season and losing in SB 52.

Wow.  Kobe did too.  Crazy.

Well, loyalty to your teammates, school, maybe even your coaches... or just being principled enough to meet your obligations to a commitment plays a role in finishing the season with your team.  But these days, its always about oneself and far less about anyone else.  Coaches dip early, so why shouldnt players?   Shame... there was a time that a handshake was all that was necessary.

Haven't seen it myself.  Don't have espn+ anymore.  Heard it's pretty good though.

Washington 20, Eagles 16

I still don't trust the Eagles to score points against teams not starting their 8th string QB. Heinicke is starting to crater, so a result like the last 2 weeks is possible even though I don't expect it.

Prediction: We see a Greg Ward pass

guess what

Matt Corrall just got hurt in his bowl game. Great chance that injury will be a red flag to teams.

Corral has nothing to worry about; RTK will be carrying him around on his shoulders until he’s fully healed.  That’s the treatment leaders get.

Yeah well it’s a forced commitment. The school and coaches are making millions. The teammates won’t succeed or fail based on you missing games. You could get injured and have that same effect. I mean at the end of the day you have yourself to worry about. It’s all bs. Are those teammates, coaches, the school paying you in 20 years? No. Even if you add the scholarship in, you have to commit and think about yourself that has nothing to do with that team to benefit. You have to get to the NFL and be there 5 years to get the retirement plan, the benefits, the paycheck comes immediately. Once you get those things then you can be a great teammate and role model. But to ask these kids to chance their LIFE over blind loyalty to teammates, schools, coaches that definitely won’t give it back to them is just insane. Once seriously injured is that loyalty you gave reciprocated? nope, its given to the next kid who will make them money.

@LeanMeanGM

Eagles 23

Football Team 13

Bonus: Reagor scores a touchdown, hell does not in fact freeze over

She was 16 days away from being 100 and people on social media are shocked.

I'm not asking them to do anything.  They chose to play football.  And yes, I get the whole thing... the money, the risk... all of it.  I long for a simpler time. A time where the love of the game drove these kids to play.  A time before all the big time money for coaches...

Also, the commitment isnt forced... they chose to commit and get an opportunity at an education in return.  Maybe I have too high a value on that opportunity... but turn back the clock... there was no money at the end of the rainbow for these kids.  College football was bigger than pro football.  And this was the last chance they had to play.  And still today, for a lot of them, these smaller bowl games is their last chance.  The DIII kids play more games to fight for a championship... and almost none of them ever get to even try out with a pro team.  Why do they risk the injury?  For the love of the game.  And they don't even get a scholarship to play.

The almighty dollar isnt the only reason to do things.  But that's all that seems to have value to most folks these days.

The bowl game opt out ship has sailed long ago. You can either make your peace with it, or nag about it. Makes no difference.

Well I don’t want Pickett regardless, I want guys like Nakobe Dean and Jordan Davis to flatten his arse the next 10 years. We need defense.

I was big on Jordan Davis until I discovered the guy is like 25 years old
