Half the people in here would have S’d their pants if that railing fell right next to them.

And Jay Cutler absolutely would have put a cigarette out on one of those fans.

So we're comparing old farts to professional athletes now? And yes after 50 I could see myself shitting my pants but only if I was trying to fart

Jalen is like 20th in QBR, which takes rushing into account. Once you factor in his age, rookie HC, coolness, back pats and intangibles he instantly catapults to a top 6 QB in NFL history.

Hurts is going to finish the year around average in most passing categories. That includes both his great games and average games. Hurts being "average" in year 2 is fine. That's great outcome for a late 2nd round pick.

Trying to understand how Eagles cliched a playoff birth, However 49ers did not with the same record and hold the tie breaker over the Eagles due to head to head match up?

6. San Francisco 49ers (9-7, hold tiebreaker over the Eagles because of their head-to-head victory)

— The 49ers will clinch a playoff berth with a win or tie against the Rams, or with a Saints loss/tie against the Falcons.

7. Philadelphia Eagles (9-7, clinched playoff berth)

In the hunt

8. New Orleans Saints (8-8)

— The Saints will clinch a playoff berth with a win over the Falcons plus a 49ers loss to the Rams.

right, so you create a hypothesis that this has to do with his ankle because you know that's the causal relationship. That's a bias. Another theory could be that he watched Minshew have success, listened to his coaches, is gaining confidence in how to play the position and evolving as a player. He looked good running yesterday without any ankle issues apparent but, you have all the insights so, nevermind.

He and Nick literally said in the PC that Hurts came up to Nick and told him to call what he needed to call and he would make it happen on his ankle. But sure, he has no lingering affects from a high ankle sprain that caused him to miss a game, and then rush 10 times across two games with no designed QB runs before yesterday and then their little sideline convo was for funsies.

Because we hold a tiebreaker over the Saints.

He's a very talented WR and they are now down 2 of their top 3 WRs.  It will hurt them and their chances to repeat.

He quit on the team, would not go into a game because he had a boo boo on his ankle.  Kind of funny you defending this guy after hammering on Pickett.

so, because of your interpretation of this, you discount the way he played? Your position is that he doesn't get credit for doing things better as a QB because he is inherently flawed and we must reinforce this at every opportunity or face years of agony as fans. Am I getting the position right?

I don't need to argue about this. It will soon be the posse of message board man-babies ganging up on some lunatic, me, who doesn't share their opinion. I am okay genuinely rooting for the QB of the team I follow to have success without fearing that his success will rob me of some future joy that is entirely hypothetical.

Have a good day.

Saints have the tiebreak over the 49ers.  Eagles beat Saints head to head.

So if the Saints win and go 9-8, 49ers lose and go 9-8 and we lose and go 9-8 for example.

We have a head to head match up with both teams. lost to 9ers, beat saints. Wouldnt the Saints be out since we beat them and 49ers beat us? 9ers and saints never played each other. Still doesnt make sense why the saints would get it over 49ers

I mean hopefully we're not seriously comparing being cool on the field to avoiding an accident in our pants. Running around in circles just aint cool

What is the tie breaker over the 49ers? Div record? they didnt play head to head.

Common opponents and SoS, I believe.

It comes down to a three way tiebreaker if all finish at 9-8. Saints and Eagles will have 7-5 conference record and Niners would be 6-6.

20th in yards, 23rd in TD passes, 28th in comp % ………  No, he isn’t

Hurts has been sufficient this season in that he’s not yet holding the roster back, but he’s been nowhere near good enough to make reasonable people think he’s the long term answer at QB

It's just because of a weird scenario that Eagles, 49ers and Saints could end in a three way tie after Week 18 at 9-8 which would have the Saints jump the 49ers. We then become 6th seed. But if 49'ers win they avoid that and clinch and become 6th seed.

Even though Pats don't have Brady they still make it. Has to be great to have Jets and Dolphins in your division. NFCE hasn't been very good the past few years either

One thing I've notice is that the bias of those who want Hurts to fail because they are afraid that any sign of success will mean he remains the Eagles QB is significant. If you watch a lot of other teams, you will see that his QB play is pretty good right now in comparison. Does he miss open receivers? Yes. Does every QB? Yes. He has gotten a lot better game by game and his pocket presence was good yesterday. Where are all the "he goes in circles" jerks when he evades pressure and uses his mobility to make a play like he did yesterday? Right now he looks better than 50% of the QBs out there and the "running back at QB" BS should begin to stop because he is no longer taking off at the first sign of pressure. He is playing within the system and being efficient. You can win with a mobile QB. Give him a chance to evolve his game and see if this is who he can be rather than branding him for eternity as a running QB.

One thing I've noticed is if you're not praising Hurts then you want him to fail. If you don't think he's the future then you hate him and want your team to lose

Pretty sure just last week he bailed early

Any criticism of Hurts and you guys throw a fit

1. Apply division tiebreaker to eliminate all but the highest-ranked team in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tiebreaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two wild-card participants.
2. Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one team has defeated each of the others or if one team has lost to each of the others.)
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
5. Strength of victory.
6. Strength of schedule.

I think its strength of victory.  Might be common games though.

And we hold a tiebreaker in the case of a three way tie.  NO also has that same tiebreaker, while SF does not.  The three way tiebreaker takes precedence over the head-to-head tiebreaker.

Obviously. That's why despite everything I have given him props (when he deserves it), celebrated the interception that won us the game, continue to stay active each week during the games, etc.

All because I "hate" the team 🙄

Show me where I discounted his play? You brought up people complaining about him running in circles or bailing the pocket early. All I said was as soon as he stopped doing that, which is what we wanted, he started looking better. Whether the ankle is the main contributing factor or not, you can't just write it off completely. He clearly had an ankle injury and whether he wanted to or not, made him rely more on being a QB than just bailing and taking off.

It's a freakin message board. Enjoy it all you want. Squirt all over the place. There are going to be other people with a difference of an opinion. If you can't handle that, that's a shame.

@DeathByEagle

That's not exactly true.  Head to head takes precedence if all 3 have played each other and there's a sweep.
