Ever hear of sliding?

I didnt say bench him forever.  But for that drive... yeah, he sits.  Playing time is the only thing that really bothers profesdional athletes. So he watches the rest of that drive.  He gets a chance to prove he learned something the next time.

Not sure your Buddy reference here.  Care to ecplain that one.

That's totally something Buddy would have done.  Bench a star player for not playing hard enough, running out of bounds, etc.  Heck, if it was bad enough, Buddy would have cut him.  He cut Cris Carter because "all he did was catch TD passes".

Hurts is not a finished product by any means. Let's so how far he progresses next season before jumping to conclusions.

I'd be overjoyed if he ends up a bigger, much more physical Jeff Garcia, who didn't exactly have a gun attached to his shoulder.

He cut Chris Carter to save his life - and Carter has said so. Carter was a total mess, he needed a wakeup call to turn his life around.

I thought that's where you were going with that.  You should educate yourself before saying anything more foolish tonight and find out what Chris Carter said about what Buddy did.

idk where he thinks sanders is holding up getting 23 touches a game. The kid can’t stay healthy and he’s getting less than 20 touches a game on average over his first 3 years. On what planet does he think giving him 20 plus touches he’s going to somehow stay healthier? Also just because he’s catching the ball out of the backfield does not mean he’s not gonna get hit. I would also argue Miles Sanders has regressed has a pass blocker. it’s one of the reasons why they brought Jordan Howard back last year. he and Boston Scott were bad picking up blitzes and pass pro in 2020

so we should pay sanders $8-9 mil per year when he’s shown he gets hurt on about 15-17 touches a game. Meanwhile the eagles averaging 186.5 yards rushing when he’s been out. So instead of using that money to spend on the defense that desperately needs playmakers we should put it into the running back position on a guy who can’t stay healthy and we have to invest more resources at the position to make up for the fact he’s in and out of the lineup.

Not to mention, Buddy called Minnesota to get him a shot there and into the rehab facility up there.

Ahhhh.  There it is.  I knew you were going there.   You know that’s not why he cut Chris Carter right?  Most real Eagle fans know that was BS Buddy spewed to hide the real reason.

Did you get that from Chris Berman at ESPN?  LOL.

He’s the Eagle fan version of "Philly fans threw snowballs at Santa Claus”.

And I’d do it again. Hanukkah Harry for life!

It's well known now that was the reason.  But at the time Buddy gave that as the reason and didn't blink an eye.  He was known for being "tough" on some players.  The reality is that (most of the time) he did it for good reason.   Buddy took a lot of heat for that move but never gave a "real" reason.  Most fans knew there were "side issues" going on but few knew how severe it was.  Truly a shame.  Buddy should have been here for at least 3-5 more years.  That's the "Norman Braman" era for you in a nutshell.

There's no hate for him.  I don't think he's good enough as a quarterback to run the offense the way Sirianni intends to.  They've invested a ton in WR. Hurts goes to the RB and TE way more than he does WR.  I want a QB to give the ball to Smith 6-8 times a game, Watkins 4-5 times a game and Goedert 5-6 times a game.  Sprinkle in some RB passes/screens and that's great.

Wanting better play at the QB position does not equal hate.  Goodness.

He's developing. Shouldn't be expecting a finished product for a young QB.

Good grief this is painful please make it stop.

At the time he was protecting Carter by not making it public why he cut him.  He had his back by not telling the media the real reason.  And he was loved by the players because of how he was.

Yep.  That's basically what I said in the post.  Hence the reason I think he should have been here for several more years.  Great coach, knew his stuff, best defensive player recruiter in franchise history, best defense in NFL history (or close).  No way you let a guy like that go and then double down by replacing him with Rich Kotite.

buddy cut carter cause he had a drug issue and wasn't wanting help for it so he gave him a wake up that he could lose everything.

And yet you asked if I was related to Buddy as if that was an insult.   🤔  very confusing...

Totally did not mean it as an insult. I meant it as an "old school, hard nosed" coaching style.

He has not developed. Still a one read wb with a weak arm that leaves the pocket too soon

Well, almost any coach worth their salt doesn't put up with errors at the end of the game that can cost you a win, especially repeated errors.  Most of all mental errors.

Posts like this make me wonder if the blog is being trolled by a bunch of "undercover" Dallas fans.

Dallas fans would want Hurts to be the starter for 13 years

It’s an exceptional play because nobody makes it "on a regular basis”.

Wrong. The broken play offense is taking the league by storm. Watch out!

So Ben out in Pitt…Bake out in clev…

Rodgers wilson and watson…

going to be a wild offseason

I think it's fair to say that Howie made the right call on the Mailata, Goedert, and Sweat extensions (barring injury the rest of this season). The wins should be highlighted just like the losses.

I didn't see the play you're referring to but if you took a look at the play I posted, Sanders IS (obviously) aware of in game situations.  He sacrificed a TD and a ton of yards to "end the game".

Sirianni likely isn't aware of that play because if he was, a simple "I know you're good at paying attention to these types of situations because I watched you make that game ending play where you could have scored a few years ago.  We need that type of awareness from you".  Simple.  Then you play the RB that's averaging 5.5 YPC and that can score at any given moment, from anywhere on the field.

This is Hurts' potential:

How many NFL QB's can make that play on a regular basis?  Mahommes and maybe a handful of others?

- yes it was 3rd and 14

- nobody looked confused except hurts

- going poorly because he can't shoulder the load so correct

- wow he escaped half decent pressure

- horribly under threw a ball to a place that made Ward make a miraculous catch

- game shouldn't have been close to begin with

Reid and Mahomes have 2 Super Bowl appearances and 1 ring thanks (in part) to some of those amazing broken plays.  So yeah, I think you're on to something.

The draft is his glaring problem
