Nah.  Called them Dallas fans because they're clueless.  Next.

No you called some of us Dallas fans because we called you out for saying Sanders is equal to Westbrook. Which still blows my mind anybody who watches football would make that comparison.

Anytime you win 7 of 9 games, it says something about your team no matter who it was against. It's still the NFL. To win that consistently, you have to at least be decently good.

The schedule certainly helped us. But we became a top notch running team, which limits turnovers generally speaking. Our defense was designed to make QBs drive all the way down field and limited big passing plays. Against the lesser QBs we faced, this was a good strategy. It worked really well.

But, we don't know how much we've improved since the 2-5 start against legit playoff teams. The good news is, in 2 weeks, we get to answer that question definitively.

How many pro-bowlers should a team that wants to win the Super Bowl have on it, in your opinion?

Bucs 2020 - 1 ( But they had the best QB in NFL history )

Chiefs 2019 - 6

Patriots 2018 - 2 ( But they had the best QB in NFL history )

Eagles 2017 - 6

Bucs 2016 - 4

Broncos 2015 - 4

Patriots 2014 - 5

Seahawks 2013 - 6

Pretty clear you need Pro Bowlers or a great QB

So... 5.  Thanks.  Being a 'reserve' Pro Bowler is still a Pro Bowler.   That's not the same as Alternate.

You might to want to look that up.

Take out the alternates since Hurts being an alternate doesn't count.

If Hurts wins the SB this board will implode

If Wentz was threatened by Hurts (after missing 3 straight playoffs due to injury), he's too weak minded to be a top QB. Mental toughness is part of the job description.

Wentz hasn't been lights out in Indy, he's pretty much the same QB who finished 2019, most effective when he runs a conservative, run oriented scheme where he doesn't make too many high risk throws - he's simply not the same guy he was in 2017.  There wasn't a huge gap between Wentz and Hurts this year, and Wentz went 9-7, Hurts 8-7 with equivalent talent (might give Indy the edge on defense).

Wentz turns 30, makes $30+M a year, and we got a 1st and 3rd for him and ended up about where we'd have been with Wentz at QB. Win win for both teams.

I'd actually think we'd win maybe 2 more games if Wentz was the QB.

This is assuming they are still a run first, run heavy team.  He isn't that guy we saw in 2017 anymore.

Well, that does not really apply as the Eagles won't win a Super Bowl.

We know what we are. We're better than those bad teams, and we're not quite at the level of the top 10 teams. That's not so bad for a first year head coach at the beginning of a retool with 3 first round picks. Things are at least trending in a positive direction. Hopefully, they continue to move that way. Doing it with a QB who a lot of us believe is pretty limited is all the more impressive.

There is potential with Gannon. If it wasn't his first year implementing his scheme,  and he had some talent.

Next year should be better.

Soothing symmetry lol.

DVOA takes opponent into account.

Eagles beat the Jets by 15. Jets beat the Titans & the Bengals! Jets lost to the Bucs by 4 & Dolphins by 7.

So yes we beat the Jets, but we beat them by more than the average team.

Objectively, I don't think another team deserves to be in the playoffs ahead of us this year; and the DVOA data you provided backs this up (13th, right?).  It's also apparent that if the NFL hadn't watered down playoff eligibility - we, like many mediocre teams of yesteryear would be either out, looking for help or playing for our playoff future in the final week of the season.

16 teams in conference

7 go to the playoffs

spot 7 is slightly above average

Calling people that you disagree with idiots, stupid or trolls is typically a sign of not being educated.  Most educated people tend to take the higher road because they realize they're speaking to someone with a low education, who's best "psychological defense mechanism" is to hurl insults at people because they believe insulting an adult is "winning" a conversation.  "It worked when I was in grade school and my friends thought it was funny".  They really don't know any better.

I mean you're not really interested in legitimate conversation. You've been a ghost all season, and only now show up when we clinch a playoff spot, posting nothing but superlative articles and hyping up this roster to be more than it is. When people point out the criticisms with the team and your fluffing, you constantly move the goalposts. So, all that's left is what you're getting now.

Most educated people realize a message board is not the place to try and validate their self worth and level of intelligence.  They don't take themselves too seriously and are able to compartmentalize real life from a blog about a sports team.

I question my life choices and level of intelligence the more I post here.
