There it is again... even though, we just went through that 'given where they drafted', they missed continually on those other players that other teams managed to unearth.

Were they or were they not in position to draft TJ Watt, and ended up with Derek Barnett?  Sure, we'll get the argument about Watt being a 3-4 OLB, rather than a DE.  (Even though one is 6'4" 252lb, and the other is 6'4" 259lb...). So, we put that aside and recognize they went Barnett over Ladavius White or Shaquill Griffin at CB, and decided to come back with Sydney Jones in Round 2 instead of White in Round 1 or Griffin in Round 2.   And that they passed on RBs in the most heavily stocked RB draft in a long time and came away with Donnell Pumphrey, while they passed on Dalvin Cook, Joe Mixon (which I still agree with), Alvin Kamara, Kareem Hunt and James Conner... or that they passed on Cooper Kupp, Chris Godwin and Kenny Golladay at WR to bring in Barnett and Jones.

Point is:  they had plenty of opportunities to land better players than they did... and came away with highly disappointing players instead.   And sure, you can do that with every team with all their missed picks.  I just wish that the Eagles were one of the teams with one of the guys that other fans would say... and you took player X over ... "Avante Maddox". ?

The long and the short of it is this:  Howie will be in charge of this draft and he needs to do better... much better than he has recently to actually find talent on the board when the Eagles are selecting.  He can't have the excuse from Lurie, or his cronies like you, talking about how many of the players that went before him were targets... he needs to find more targets!  If he's picking at 14, he needs 15 targets.  If he's picking at 21, he needs 24 targets.  And when he's on the clock, one of the names he's considering at that moment needs to be a guy who will be on the team for more than his rookie deal.  He's got 3 chances this year in Round 1.  He needs to absolutely hit on at least 2 of them, or all this asset accumulation has been worthless.   Assets are only good if you can cash them in for value later.   Drafting Jahlil Okafor at #3 doesn't cut it... That's not good asset allocation.

Haha. WRONG again. Wentz, if you want to include playoff games, played in 40/53 games, or 75% of possible games.

Sanders has played in 35 of a possible 50 games (I'm only including the 17 games this season, not the playoffs....yet). Or, 70% of possible games.

EVEN IF Sanders plays in the next 3 games to pull equal to Wentz's first 3 years, he would only play in 38/53, still less than Wentz.

This is going to be the 3rd time I've had to repost the same stats because apparently you're not reading them correctly.  But I'm still going to be polite about it. AND I'm going to show you what you're doing wrong.

Miles Sanders played in 40 of 49 possible regular season games during his first 3 seasons.  A RB is typically in a rotation, especially his rookie year so there will be games he doesn't start but plays in.  A franchise QB, on the other hand, is likely going to start every game he plays in.

So you looked at "Starts" not "Games Played" for both players not realizing that Sanders had actually played in several more games.

Now let's look at playoff games for Sanders.  1 game in 2019.    Maybe 1 game in 2021. We can't include that one yet because according to reports, he could play.  So that's a total possibility of 50 games.  Meaning Sanders has missed only 10 games during his first 3 seasons.  11 if he does not play next week.

Wentz played in a total of 40 out of 48 regular season games during his first 3 years.  2017 missed 2 playoff games and the Super Bowl.  3 total.  2018 Missed 2 playoff games. Total of 5 playoff games missed out. He played a playoff game in 2019 and even though he was hurt early, it counts.   So we add the 8 regular season games to the 5 playoff games he missed, total of 13 games missed for Wentz (Out of a possible 54 games during his first 3 years.

Even if you want to use percentages, which doesn't really hold water when we are talking about games missed due to injury.... we can still go that route.   Sanders has played in roughly 79.5% games during his first 3 season.  Wentz played in roughly 75.9% of his games during his first 3 seasons.

And Wentz has only missed 4 games during the next 4 seasons .  Point proven for the 3rd time.  And I was nice about it.  :Eagle_smiley:

@downundermike since you apparently endorsed his mistake, I hope this clears it up for you as well.

Well let’s drill down.

Wentz snap count, from rookie year up:

1125, 881, 724

Sanders snap count first 3 years:

613, 602, 426.

Try again sparky

Wentz total snaps first 3 years - 2730

Sanders total snaps - 1641

Difference of 1,089, which is basically 2 seasons for Sanders

Now you're trying to move the goal posts and you're not even doing that correctly.  Since when do RB's get the same snap counts as a starting QB?  Especially when a team has a rotation at RB. Never, that's when.  If you watch football, you know that NO ONE would ever compare snap counts of a QB to a RB.  Other than Center, the QB gets (by far) the most snaps in a game and it's not even close.  You're better than this.  (I hope).

You brought up Wentz in the first place.

Agent or not.  It has his name on it.  And yes, fedex is the new Vet. No doubt.  NFL will be concerned when fans are involved.  Not just players.  And it’s a different time and age since the Vet.

A railing fell with a lot more fans back in the day at the Vet.  Army Navy game.

And I think that was the last time the game was hosted there

Not surprised if Harbaugh wants out. He is losing his two most elite players, Ohio State has better younger talent and will have revenge on their mind, this was his best team yet and he got smoked by the 2nd best SEC team. This year could be as good as it gets for him. Might as well have your pick of NFL jobs and leave Michigan on a high.

Correct.  And why did I bring Wentz up?

Because you asked me to show you an example of a player who missed as many games as Sanders did during his first three seasons but came back and had good careers.  Wentz actually  missed more gamest than Sanders due to injury during his first 3 seasons but has come back and only missed 4 in the past 4 years.  It's a near perfect example.   And it's a Wentz success story so it was not intended to bash Wentz.  You should be thanking me.

Point was he's spent the last few months training for a boxing match. I don't know how ready he would be at 38 to just go back to playing football so soon after.

I'd rather not have him, frankly.  He had his chance and went elsewhere, and has gotten significantly older since then.

Remember when.  What a night.  So glorious.  I laugh at seeing all of those 20 somethings.  Like they sat through all the heartache for decades.  I doubt half of them were even Eagle fans a year prior or have been since.  But still fun to watch.  This just popped up on my YouTube feed and thought I’d share.  I was so hammered that night, I didn’t see any of this.

Thanks, Had never seen before. Less than 5 minutes after that Hail Mary hit the ground I drove to the cemetery to celebrate with my Father.

You don’t get it. You’re sticking to this "games played” thing. How many games did Sanders have to leave early due to injury? Or leave for stretches to come back later in the game?

So of course an RB in a committee won’t have the same snaps as the QB, but for Sanders being such a stud according to you, you’d think he’d be faaar closer to Wentz’s snap counts. Instead, Wentz effectively had 1100 more snaps in his first three years. Based on his career so far, it would take Sanders two full seasons to reach that amount alone.

Wentz always has been more durable than Miles "Glass” Sanders.
