What we know now, what Wentz did with the 2018 team is a miracle and should of been mentioned in the Mvp talks(not one) I've mentioned it before. Doug will go down as one of the worst head coaches. other general managers laughed at his game plan and DC's knew what they were doing, draft picks were terrible and he took this team to the playoffs. 

Then all he's done this year is one of the best TD/INT ratios, lead a top 5 offense to the playoffs while being top 10 in most categories. 

Is he Mahomes, nope. Is he trash not even close. I wouldnt even call him middle of the road. He's an above average QB to good QB in this league and eagle fans hate to admit it

 

I make no attempt to hide it, yes I hate Wentz. I hope he stubs his toe every morning when he walks from his bed to the bathroom. And yes to call his play the last few seasons "trash” is and over statement.
But he hasn’t been anywhere close to good or great. He was the worst starting QB in all of football in 2020 and he single handedly lost a game for the Colts this year against the Titans. And to highlight the Colts success is because of the team and talent around him, 5-12 for 57yds 1td 1int in a win over the Pats. 

While he was here and up until he got benched I was a major supporter of him. So yes I can admit my judgment of him is bias, but I’ll never be ok with how he handled his last season here and for his immediate response to being benched in GB to be, I need to get traded out of here. So F him and the horse he rode in on.

 He could be the 1st CB taken in the draft and it wouldn’t be wrong. Listed at 6’2-6’3” and his legs look 35” long which isn’t great for a CB but he’s got super hips, being able too cover 5’9” receivers isn’t typically easy for a CB that tall and he does it as good as anyone. 
 Top 2 CB’s should be him or Booth, you gotta love Booth if your LB’ers and other DB’s are weak tacklers, cause he isn’t.  He plays CB like  a Safety. 
 Stingley who was great as a Freshman has missed a ton of time since, but as a Freshman, going against Chase in practice daily had to help him mature quickly.  He’s the most talented CB in the draft, it’s just lower leg injuries are never good for that position.

He played like crap all year and when Doug finally had the balls to make him ride the pine Wentz’s response was, I need out of here. He immediately turned his back on the team, the city, the fans. Instead as taking it as a wake up call to work on his game, he tucked his tail and ran. 
 

And comparing Hurts and Wentz does nothing for me. I heap plenty of criticism on Hurts when he deserves it. And I fully recognize this team would be better with a more skilled passer. But if you want to make comparisons between the two how about Wentz’s 2020 vs Hurts’ 2021.

I just chuckle at the notion that Wentz made a big fuss and cried and ish.  When you got guys like AB, Rodgers, Deshaun Watson, Jalen Ramsey, doing the ish in public like they are.  Wentz quietly asked to be traded away from a burning building and he’s hated.  Pretty lame.  

Yeah, I don't get the irrational hatred towards him or the consistent mention of what a terrible human being he is. It didn't work out, obviously, but he wasn't the diva/issue he's been made out to be.

Having said that now that we have the pick, what he does beyond this year is largely irrelevant to me unless we happen to be playing them.

I have no other way to take it than he tucked his tail and ran. He was bad all season long, and continued to make the same mistakes game after game after damn game. There was not chatter or rumors about him wanting to be traded until his ass was benched. 
 

My hate for Wentz is what it is. I see him the same way I see Ben Simmons. Someone who has incredible talent and shows a lot of flashes but can’t handle criticism and limits his ability to grow because he’d rather run from the criticism than take it and work on his game. 
 

Either way my original take remains valid. What has Wentz shown the last few seasons meaning 2020 and 2021 that makes someone believe that he’s going to have such success that we regret trading him? And any future success he has will have more to do with the talent and team around him than his individual performance.
