Maybe you shouldn't watch sports. The bottom line is winning in sports. Ugly win over a pretty loss any day.

Yup

Sports is about much much more than winning or losing.  Just ask the Jamaican Bob Sled team.  The losers are often much more entertaining than the winners.

Yes and no.  A passing TD is the QB distributing the football to another player, so two players need to be accounted for.  If the QB throws TD passes to 10 different receivers, like Mahomes this season, then everyone needs to be accounted for.

I'm pretty sure 12 of the 16 passing TDs Hurts has thrown this season have been to 3 players -- Smith, Goedert, Ward.  Add in Hurts, and that's 22 out of 26 TDs by 4 guys.  Not as hard to defend or gameplan for.

Well, jeez he can only throw to the players out there, Siri has gone with a base formation for most of the season, either 2 TEs or 3 WRs.

The RBs haven't been good receivers, except part-time guys like Scott and Gainwell, Stoll and Jackson aren't part of the passing game yet, Reagor is #@*&$, and Ward hardly plays.

So who is he supposed to be throwing to?

That's great - AB just telling the truth.

Yeah we really had his number… 505 passing yards, 3 tds, 115.4 QB rating and 89.9 QBR.

Nah.  It might have been about wanting to see talent added to the team.   I didn't have the ego issue that you are describing and I was furious at that same pick.  Equally furious at the selection of Reagor.  And I am not the guy who had to play with him.

You absolutely have the ego issue that I am describing.  Your ego is very closely tied to the fortunes of the Eagles.

Howie has value in the front office. I think he is very good at trading for value. He is good at assessing FA value and has re-signed key rookies with good contract.  He has made some good hires at coach and with assistants.  He has built good rosters through FA and trades.  Signing Nelson this season was a good example of being able to fill a need.  He hit on Alshon as a FA but his 2nd contract was a big mistake.  The problem is the draft and his role in the draft process.

His drafting has been average, if you take draft position into account, he's got about average value for his picks.

His problem is his drafting is as good as the consensus behind him, once reason I think they draft better late, is the personnel guys dominate b/c the coaches (other than maybe Stoutland) don't pay as much attention to projects, they want guys who can play now. Peddy may have lobbied for Reagor, I doubt he knew who Watkins was.

That is the text book ego-centric response.

So you want him to win "playing within a team concept" without having a team around him?  Oh I'm sorry you don't even care if they win as long as you're entertained. And if he doesn't agree that having a second quarterback instead of 100 year old oft injured receivers to start the year then he's got an ego problem.

Let's just say I agree with Wentz and not with you. Especially since he cares more about winning than entertaining you alone.

They had a helluva lot of talent too.   No Deontay Burnetts being thrown out there as part of the starting 5.

The teamwork was what set them apart.  The whole being greater than the sum of its parts.  Chamberlain was much more talented, but the Celtics almost always prevailed.

For people that have no shot at winning.....................sure

Hard to say you have someone’s number when He still dominated a game and the eagles are 2-6 lifetime vs. Brady.

Mine had a lot more expletives. Lots of F words and wanting to punch Howie

I don't think he has gotten average value at the most important picks.  We can blame Chip Kelly, Doug Pederson and Joe Douglas for bad first round picks.  We can blame Reid for Watkins and Jarrett.  Your response, though, begs the question of why we would want a GM who you "doubt who knew Watkins was."

all i got to say about this losers vs. winners debate

I too would like Justin Herbert to be my QB. However, that option is not available, so having a QB who is 16th in EPA (expected points added) is fine.

What i don’t understand if you don’t care about winning or losing and just being entertained by football/teamwork then why would you chose to watch the eagles over better games presented to you that week? It doesn’t matter if they win or lose then watch the games that are more entertaining. Like last week you could’ve watched the chiefs Vs. Bengals as it was an exciting game and entertaining. Meanwhile the eagles/Washington game was not nearly that entertaining especially in the first half.

Three things come to mind ... first, one never knows whether an individual game will be entertaining or not until after it has already been played.  Second, I was born in Philadelphia and believe a person's teams are determined on the day of your birth.  I've lived in Upstate New York, Dallas, Nashville and Nor Cal, but the thought of changing my allegiances to the Giants, Cowboys, Titans or 49ers is inconceivable.  That is the way I roll.  But even more important than my city allegiances is my love for and appreciation of the game I'm watrching.  Guy Lafleur rushing up ice was a thing of beauty ... as was Rick Macleish doing the same.  The reason I gravitate to the action in the trenches is because teamwork is so absolutely crucial there.

Lastly, my dad and I went to the 1960 World Championship game where the Eagles beat the Packers. So the Eagles remind me of my dad and good times with him.  They say the best friends are the ones who have the most shared experiences, and the Eagles and I have lots and lots of shared experiences.  1960 is one of them, but the Eagles teams throught the rest of the 60's were just as formative ... and they put the 2020 Eagles into perspective.

And so the motto for you is "don't try to win because you could get injured or fumble the ball". Instead take the loss and then nobody can accuse you of "hero ball".  This of course flies in the face of any sport I have ever played or any coaching I have ever received. You play  to win the game

Herm Edwards certainly would agree...

He also made some terrible choices in whom and how much and when to sign players to 3rd contracts.  Ultimately, the second contracts have worked very well... but those 3rd contracts are the real killers.  Brooks, Johnson, Jeffery, Jackson... so many of them.

I agree wholeheartedly.

My apologies, more than happy to admit my error.  8 v 5 is still not an overwhelming majority when considering 2 of those 8 are a 2 and 3 yard TD run.  He only has 1 TD run of 10 or more yards, it's not like he is Lamar Jackson taking it to the house for 50+ yards.

I'd say that is the overwhelming majority, it's almost double.

A 2 or 3 yard run is a run, it's not a line up under center and push forward at the snap QB sneak.

RGIII first 19: 5,052 yards, 32 TDs, 12 TOs

Dont include rushing stats, this is beneath us.

Yeah RG3 was legit before that trash organization put him out on a messed up knee in the playoffs which resulted in a far more damaged knee and he was never the same after.
