That's what I've been saying too.  The last thing I want is trading all of the picks for Watson.  If the Colts pick is a 1st rounder, they could get 3 blue chip guys.   3 foundational pieces at much needed positions (CB, DL, S).

The problem is, and we all have discussed it, is Howie is the one with those picks.  I'm trying to not get my hopes up but the thought of what they could walk away with next April is just exciting.

Wasn't he impressive?  The Taylor Mays comparisons scare me off but Hamilton has way more speed a movement to his game rather than just being a huge thumper at safety.  Bottom line is there are going to be game changing players from day 1 available.

My fear is with potentially 3 1st round picks, Howie might think one of them can be a developmental project.

The thought of 3 blue chippers is exciting but at the same time, think about the future.  Maybe you use 2 of the 1st rounders on players (have to think about salaries as well) and then trade out of the 3rd 1st rounder for a 2022 1st.  Continue the multiple 1st round picks for a few years.

NVM... I considered going that way, then decided it looked small... and the one thing I learned from keeping fish was: smaller volumes are harder to keep at steady parameters than bigger ones.   So, I then decided to go with a dedicated smoker, and ended up with a pellet.  Very easy to use and very low stress... which is what its all about for me.  Bad news is that I have to get a new grill as well now... the good news is that I get to buy a new grill now.   So, I'll have a smoker and a propane grill... both full size.  Best of both worlds.

I don't think Hurts is ever going to be good enough, but it will be interesting to see how the Eagles play it.  If we finally got the weapons figured out, I wonder if they would have the restraint and patience to draft all the BPA with their early picks in 2022, build a stacked roster, and continue to wait for the right opportunity at QB.  As anti Hurts as I am and as much as most of us would flip out if they stuck with Hurts in 2022 after an unimpressive season, I'd rather ride with him an extra year than go all-in on someone else who isn't good enough.

If the roster becomes good enough, then you can do well with a more accurate, composed, pocket, "system" QB like a Mac Jones, which should be more attainable in the draft.  Also, then you become a potential destination for the next iteration of guys like Manning, Brady, Rodgers, Watson who want to change teams and hop onto a stacked roster.

Howie... restraint and patience?   .  The guy that kicks the can down the road... all the time?

Some keep saying it’s a bad year for a QB , that’s only because the majority thought Rattler and Howell were the best of the class , and they wet the bed the first week out .

I will keep saying it , at least 3 of these guys will be franchise QBs

I would say QB ends up a strength of this class , along with DBs , specifically CB and OL , backer would be the weakest position

Costco has some good sized butts most the time, that's where we get ours, usually about 15-20 lbs, good quality meat as well.

2)  There is no rule the Eagles HAVE TO draft a QB, even if Hurts struggles

That's where the Minshew trade could pay dividends.  While I'm not inspired by having Gardner Minshew as the starting QB in 2022, the Eagles have the flexibility now to make an honest, candid evaluation of Hurts in 2021.  If he's not the guy they can trade him away while still having Minshew available to start.  Their hand wouldn't be forced to draft a QB early as other teams might be.

It is Hurts' chance to prove himself as the #1 QB this season.  If he struggles, Minshew will get a chance to step up.  However, he is not likely to hold down that position for the future.  Howie, being a wheeler and dealer, would take the opportunity to get a starting QB, either via the draft or trade for one.  He has to handle that carefully and not subject the team for years of uncertainty.

Yup. Hate the idea of 1st round safeties, but when you play like a mix of Sean Taylor and Earl Thomas...whew.

I'd like to see him make some tackles before boarding that train. And I say this as a lifelong Notre Dame fan who's seen Hamilton play since his first game as a freshman and immediately thought he could be special. He's athletic as hell in space but he's no Dawkins level hitter.
