After an hour a second half hour clip came up with three sound Easter Eggs in it. I liked the second one too. I also have the distinction of having the first Dallas Suck comment. While extremely unlikely I use the chat, if this minor effort potentially contributes toward keeping the new EMB funded, it is worth it. Another nice effort by @VaBeach_Eagle that we all benefit from.

F PSU Recognizing your hatred for PSU, I kind of feel like these officials shouldn't be working even a DIII game for a while. Those officials would be castigated doing that in a high school game. Knowing the downs is kind of job number 1, and NONE of them caught that... not even the replay booth to call down. That's just complete and utter incompetence all around.

Yes, if he plays up to the hope that many have for him, then it might be 'an absolute steal'. Meanwhile, if he is what he has been, it will be an overpay. If he gets injured, it's an overpay. He can't command 'market value', when he's not on the market. And the Eagles rolled the dice on this one. The odds may be 40-60 against... it might be 20-80 or 60-40... but this isn't a slam dunk. There's inherent risk (more than normal) for this, because at this point in the process, the Eagles were bidding against themselves. And Sweat does have a knee history. Will the knee hold up if he's used for more snaps, as a contract like this would necessitate? That remains to be seen. Sweat has never been a starting DE in the NFL, but he was just paid like he's not just a starter, but a top half starter in the NFL. For reference... Sweat was better last year than Mercilus and Ngakoue...at 23 and a 3rd year starter. He's not as good as JPP though. JPP of course has an even more severe injury history than Sweat (lost fingers, back injury, hernia, etc).
September 19, 20214 yr I cant believe PSU is actually keeping up with a decent SEC team. Playing Ohio State, or a real team in a tougher conference, these are usually the games that expose them as 2nd rate Big10 pretenders. I am interested to see if they can pull this off.

And in that 'down year', he had 8 sacks and 4 Forced fumbles. Sweat has 10 career sacks and 3 FF. Ngakoue is only 26, so its not like he's 'old'.

None of the original teams wanted to resign him. He ended up with a 2 year deal worth less than what Sweat got. EDGEs get paid! That's just the reality. As long as Lurie is owner, we'll be investing in the trenches.

But, he still needs to earn it.

Do I think Sweat has earned a contract worth what he signed for based on previous performance? Nah. But we’re signing him based on our projection over the next 4 years. Let’s say Sweat has a big year and plays up to a $13M a year deal, we’ll, he’d be so close to FA that he wouldn’t sign for $13M. Then it’s more like $17M. Possibly even more if he decides to test FA. See above. I frankly think the eagles saw what happened with vinny curry after 2015 where he had a very good season. He was weeks away then days away from free agency and had to pay him more than they wanted since they didn’t get it done at the beginning of the season. They probably didn’t want to be in that position again with sweat if he had a very good year and then have to increase what they wanted to pay him cause he was weeks and days away from free agency
September 19, 20214 yr Draftkings sportsbook has DeVante Smith at +1100 to get 100+ rec yards and 1+ TD. Its a stretch. But doesnt feel like a horrible bet against the 9ers banged up secondary.

September 19, 20214 yr Auburn decided to get fancy... and then spiked themselves. Unforced error right there. Poor guy is going to have a rough night. Basically handed PSU a FG... maybe a TD. Wow. Nice catch by Dotson.
