I'm pregaming tonight.  I'm watching the game out at the pit tonight and drinking.  So I am pretty sure we got this win in the bag or we don't.  We just gotta outscore them.

As far as BBQ.  Someone asked about you tube guys and I referenced Malcom Reed.  I saw this sammich he posted a few weeks ago.  I am making this sucker tonight..

I have used that jalapeno chips before.  They're great on salads too.

That sounds like a great idea.    I won't be able to watch the game from the start... but watching on my projector and screen would be fun.

Brady Beat mahomes, leaving Lamar(good) Ryan T.(good) Baker, Goff in the dust

Mahomes beat Jimmy G leaving Ryan T, Lamar, Deshaun, Cousins .

If you think about it the last time over the stretch of.... 10 or so years the SB winner didnt have someone elite was the Eagles.

I think good QB's are more plentiful but that can be traced back to how these kids are in high school, off season work outs, tape etc.

Can you win a lot of games with a good QB, sure, but sure seems like the ELITE are still needed

I went to bed last night full off beer and wings thinking....

It's EXTREMELY possible the games get 3 top 15 picks and maybe 3 top 10 picks...

I havent dug in but that has to be an NFL Record.

I’d say Eli and Flacco fall into this too. Otherwise, yes it was all the Brady’s, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees and Russel Wilson. But once there all gone, there’s going to be a void left behind with only Mahomes at the moment. More of a projection I cant really prove but the next 10 years I think the SB will be one more by good/great but not elite QB’s.

Alright MF'ers, its gameday.  Need an Eagles win and 55 or more combined points to win my work football pool.  Would have it won already, but that's what I get for picking the Vagiants.

hey I aint happy about it, I just dont see us hanging with them. Each passing week teams get more of a book on NS and Hurts' Offense. Dallas is clearly the best team in our Division, they have the best QB. Our Oline and Dlines have already taken big hits.

The Cowboys have a bottom of the League defense in terms of talent and are essentially missing all of their starters on the d-line.  Their defense has been good at creating turnovers.  I am not sure how much of that is sustainable.  They are missing their LT but their real question on the O-line is Biadasz.  The Eagles can impact the Cowboys offense with interior pressure.  Dak hasn't looked as fast and has run a lot less this season.

I am not sure what you mean by "getting a book." Offensive schemes are about making play calls that exploit weaknesses and match up issues. It's not like teams run completely different schemes each week.  I mean teams are successful when they have good talent and effective schemes.  So having route concepts that beat both man and zone coverage and having a QB that makes and executes the right read.  The Eagles will be able to create match up issues.  The question is execution and play calling.  They need to think about running plays that have some tendency breakers and run different routes off of similar formations.  I am concerned about the lack of the use of motion.  I am not concerned about some Chip Kellyesque type problem where the Eagles essentially are running the same routes and runs on every down.

As much as it pains me to say this, No Dallas has the best team this year. It starts with Dak. He is by far the best QB in the division. Then you look at their Oline and weapons, as long as they are healthy on Offense they will score 27+ every game, regardless.

You have to outscore them, and their defense is young and getting better.  I dont see WFT hanging with them in a shootout. And I know we cant.

Um...damn reality.

Agree with your assessment about the near future evolution of NFL defense.  I think there's 2 main areas of focus:  creating TOs (as you stated) and limiting damage in the RZ, meaning giving up more FGs and less TDs.  Defenses can be 'bend but don't break' and give up yardage between the 20s, but once in the RZ is where they will have to not break and either hold the O to a FG or find a way to create a TO.  So sort of risk management to the amount of points you're giving up while winning the ball back for your O with TOs.  This is why I want ball-hawking play-making DBs.  The way the rules are slanted to favour the O now (with NFL brass wanting more of a pinball track meet type of game to cater to the FF crowd and the casual fan they are trying to court) there aren't really any shutdown CBs left.  So make the transition from clamp down defenders to ones that can make plays on the ball and create TOs.

I also think we might see more emphasis on DTs who can pass rush.  For a long time it's been the DEs who are the ones applying pressure to the QBs where the DTs are more run stoppers (with the exception now and then).  However, with more mobile QBs now instead of the pure pocket passer 'statue' type QBs, I think having pressure up the middle will be more important since mobile QBs can more easily run from pressure on the outside than they can when it comes right up the gut into their faces.

We might also see LBs (well, not here in Philly, lol) who are more SS size, quicker/faster, more sideline to sideline, better coverage skills, but will also need to be able to diagnose and read the game better to be at the right place at the right time to make up for slight lack of size when defending the run and taking on OL players or the occasional big RB.  Like Wayne Gretzky said, don't chase the puck, but anticipate where the puck is going to be so you have a better chance at make a play.

Just seen that hit by Jimmy ward on Adams -  F me

As far as the game tonight, this is a tough call.  Do we really know what either team actually is?  Eagles only 2 games in with new schemes on O and D and coming off a letdown game they could have won.  Cowgirls with a good amount of injuries and played 2 tough road games and this is their home opener vs a division rival.  They have a better O than what we've faced so far, but our D has looked really good for the most part except for the long TD drives they allowed vs the 49ers, mostly since they didn't adapt to the old GB power sweep runs they we doing.  Their D has forced TOs, but so far (and surprisingly, knock on wood 3X) we haven't been turning it over.

Just as with the ATL game, when in doubt then go with the team that should win the battle of the trenches.  Right now I think that's us.  We have injuries to both our lines as well, but not as bad as them.  Plus, our depth is better.  I get the feeling this will look more like the 49ers game instead of a race to 30 points.  And I can never pick the Cowgirls to win, so.....

@LeanMeanGM

Eagles 22

Cowgirls 20

Bonus:  Jake kicks 5 FGs and our D gets their 1st TO on the season.

Why didn’t we do that?

why? lol.

The panthers defense is good and looks(because of a weak NFC) playoff bound

The eagles should be acquiring ZERO players right now.

Henderson is 22 on a rookie contract wtf are you talking about

To get hyped for tonight. I remember watching this and being amazed.

It takes a special receiver not to run that in for a t.d. That said McNabb was brilliant at times and how about that o-line that didn't get called for a hold during that whole time

Did anyone else see Djax torch the Bucs yesterday?

I LOVED Henderson coming out. Great film. Very good athleticism. Prototypical size/speed for the position.

But he's been *bad* in Jacksonville.

Howie is a Florida alum. Caldwell, who drafted him, is here. We already traded for another Jacksonville DB. We have more picks than any other team for 2022.

There's a reason we passed.

Arnold has a nothing contract.   $920K for this year, and they can dump him with no cost next year.   Or keep him around for peanuts compared to Ertz who wants a new deal and lots of money.

And, I could be wrong, but the Jags seem to be in tank mode again.

I'm going with Italian roast pork sandwiches with broccoli rabe and extra garlic. Don't have enough time to do anything too complicated.

He's only played 10 games in his career. He hasn't been great but way to premature to pull the plug on last years #9 overall pick, especially at a position that doesn't always make an immediate impact.

I agree. I'm keeping him if I'm Jacksonville. Trading for someone and keeping them are 2 different things.
