Assuming all the offensive linemen other than Dickerson dress on Sunday, who do you think would be the in-game replacement at each position if the starter went out? I would guess it would go something like this:

LT -- Dillard

LG -- Herbig

C -- Herbig

RG -- Herbig

RT -- Toth? (or would you move Mailata to RT and put Dillard at LT?)

Looks right. I would go with Toth and help him out with chips. I'd rather just replace one guy instead of moving two, unless Toth just becomes a complete disaster.

Orioles?

The oriole is just one of dozens of species that scientists are considering renaming because of racist or other offensive connotations.

Omar is one of my favorite characters all-time. Michael K. Williams was fantastic in that role.  He was also great in Boardwalk.  Such as sad loss.

I'm probably in the minority but I thought the Wire was OK.  Everyone I ever talk to says it's one of the greatest shows ever.  I just don't see it.  Boardwalk was amazing though.

Eagles should really try to get Mailata done now instead of waiting

He was drinking vodka? That explains it

It's a shame that the underlying sentiment is that we can't make it through week 1 unscathed.

I wouldn't even know how to deal with a relatively healthy season.

That is 18.5 million per year.  Obviously that would be lower up front and higher cap hits at the end, but, the Eagles currently have a combined 18.984 million in 2021 / 2022 cap space.  That is before player 52 and 52 count against the cap tomorrow.

They would have to seriously backload that contract, but the signing bonus would take his 2021 cap hit of 872K and move it into the 4 to 5 million range.

Id think Dillard at LT and Mailata over to RT rather than toth at LT.

But yeah Herbig would be the first off the bench if any of the Interior guys go down.

100%. IMO, prioriy goes Mailata, Sweat, Geodert.

I do recognize that all 3 have injury histories which makes negotiations tricky.

That is what I am running into.  My address shows up as able to have DirecTV,  thus no eligibility for season ticket.  I am going to read my HOA rules and see if we can have a dish, but I have never seen one in a 1400 home development.  Maybe that will work...who knows?

If not, I will head to the bar.  That way I can watch the game and kill the pain with premium liquids at the same time.

There is the new Directv stream platform that is dish-less.  THere is no contract for that from what I've seen and I think one of the packages comes with Sunday Ticket.  I just miss the days when I could just go on my xbox or playstation and order the stream service stand alone without an actual Directv account.

I think that's the Scott's Oriole which is not the same as the orchard Oriole that is the bird in the Oriole's logo.

I get more channels for less from Sling, and it appears the Directv stream service does not have the nfl network.

And after doing some reading, Sunday Ticket will not be available on Directv stream.  They just need to make it a stand alone product like MLBTV and be done with it.

And by his metric you are punishing the QB for missed field goals, turnovers etc @austinfan.  If you go 5 for 6 for 68 yards on a drive and the RB fumbles inside the 5, how is that the QB's fault, and you are punishing him with the points scored metric.

So basically you are stating that stats are crap in football for measuring individual performance   Especially without context.  That is pretty much true.

The running back yards might rely on how well the QB delivered the hand off, how well the QB sold and read RPO or play action.  The play of the offensive line, both individually and in tandem.  Necessary blocks from a tight end or WR. Plus, how well the RB read the hole, dodged defensive players, broke tackles, hit the hole, burst, protected the rock and kept his feet churning.  They also include situations where the defense just blew it.

I am not sure I agree that AFan is penalizing or rewarding the QB for actions of others as much as recognizing the QBs role as a field general whose target is to put the offense into position to score points.  Is just measuring passing results a metric of how the QB operates the run game, options correctly in RPO, audibles into a different play based on a read of the offense, which might well be a running play, or proper, ply throws the ball away?  Does interceptions include balls off receivers’ hands into the defense, bobbled balls or poorly run routes, especially on timing throws?  What about drops?  Any interception goes against the QB. Drops are recorded as incomplete passes.  Heck, sacks can be on bad line play.  So the QB stats have the same flaw as AFan’s scoring stat that you pointed out.

Nice. First rounder still in play. Next draft should have some decent talent.

We're going to be sweating out that last game to lock in the pick should he make it that far (knock on wood).

Exactly - I think the likely problem is that they are limited because of their TV deals.  It is frustrating that it is basically only available with DirectTV.

Yep.  I have been saying it for years, MLBTV is what NFL Sunday Ticket needs to be.  Stand alone service, you can pick the home or road team TV feed, you can overlay the radio announcers with the TV feed.  A 100X superior product.

Talib is the Jalen Hurts of broadcasters. Mostly bad, a flash here and there with a seemingly strong (and small) support group for some reason.

Talib is at least different from a lot of commentators. Running QBs seem to be very easy to find

That seems to be the thing for Howie. Giving big contracts to players with an injury history

I think MLB can do that because most teams have local TV deals which is not the case for the NFL.  It's the same for the NHL.

They should change it.  There is a reason I have had MLBTV for the last 6 years, and have not had Sunday Ticket for at least 10.

Thought I should post one last reminder in here for the blog fantasy league. Draft is tonight at 8:30pm eastern.

Shirt I made to celebrate my favorite bromance: eagles
