I just couldn’t imagine a QB who was benched at halftime in the college national title game ever making it in the NFL.

To be honest- the fact he’s at least going to be a respectable backup says that he’s come a long way

Time to give Minshew a chance.

Quez. I thought Epps played well for a backup.

I don't agree...  EVERY head coach who has a young, developing QB has to help that young QB...

It doesn't APPEAR, after seven games that Hurts has a very high ceiling, but this is where we are...  we have no viable alternatives...  so, everyone might as well get used to the fact that Hurst is the guy, and your damn head coach needs to do a far better job...

To what end? To win a couple more games in a dreadful season?

If Hurts is simply a placeholder, then the effort should be directed at developing other players, such as the young WRs.

Hurts just needs to improve on his workout swag videos. We were getting one a week and it led to a good week 1. Ever since, we haven’t gotten any and it’s showing on the field. Correlation there.

Hurts was late on almost every single throw last night, he had a meltdown

Yeah, we just see this differently...  not much use beating on it...

I think there are a range of possible outcomes for Hurts.  High end starting QB isn't likely one of them but competent QB may be. Sirianni needed to think about ways that allow offense to get on track.  The offense still woefully underuses motion. Motion is key for offenses and QBs because it helps reveal coverages and the defensive scheme.  They have no running plays that involve WRs.  Don't give me the well screens are like runs because they're not the same.  There was nothing to change direction of the defense.  Sure receivers were open but that's bs because receivers are going to look open in any scheme.  There is nothing that is deceptive and challenging for defenses.  Sirianni had Hurts repeatedly throwing the ball or calling RPOs where Dallas was just baiting him into throwing the ball.   The offense was predictable and Hurts isn't at a point where he's not telegraphing throws.  So one read and run is an issue but the bigger issue is that Sirianni did nothing that could at least make the read more deceptive.  The growth doesn't come by some trial by fire.  It comes by Hurts gaining confidence in his reads sooner and processing faster.

Siri is absolutely not looking good right now as the head coach. It's still early but dude seems like he has no idea how to build an offense around his players talents or lack thereof.

Disagree with the bolded, for the remainder of this year we have Minshew and Flacco, as alternative, that would clearly be better. It would be very hard to be worse  as the bar is set pretty low.

LOL  come on Seth.  @downundermike and I .......and others have been saying this, since last year.

he was being kind. We all stated it. (Well not all of us, some were very defensive of Hurts for some unknown reason)

I don’t think anyone was arguing that point. The idea has always been to see whether or not he would/could improve in that area, etc.    I think Hurts needs a QB whisperer type of coach.  Is Siri that guy?  Doesn’t really seem like it so far, IMO.

That came up also... I know we're not allowed to give cowboys credit on here, I know we hate Dak, and I know most people think he sucks, but his ball had some zip last night and he looked really good.

Mind you, it was against probably a bottom 5 defense but yea, he looked good.

Side note, Somone thought the cowboys were gonna score less than 20 points on here, lol laughed at them yesterday when he said it, Laughing again today.

I believe I correctly predicted the Cowboys would win by 20+ points.  I even predicted Hurts would have 2 picks.

Oh please...  Flacco is the past, not the future, and you're not trying to win a Super Bowl...  Minshew is CLASSIC let's just play the other guy...  Minshew is no more a starting NFL QB than Hurts has shown...

At this point, it's crystal clear (IMO) that you stick with Hurts...  and hope like hell the 1st year Head Coach's learning curve is accelerated...

NO!!! WTF would you do that,.

We traded for him. We aren't winning anything this year anyway. See what you got.

nah, you are wasting your time. Hurts has never been that type of QB, he has relied on his legs. That doesn't fly in the NFL, you need to be able to be an adequate pocket passer. He had an entire offseason to learn, and he looks worse than last year.

"It's Over Johnny"

Minshew is absolutely a viable starter

He has proven it, hes a step above Hurts until further notice

Theyd be foolish not to seriously consider starting him at some point

I'm not surprised. It was bad. I was seriously expecting the run to show up in the 2nd half. It was a horrible game plan

Seth Joyner on Hurts... which is exactly what I have been saying since Game 1 of the season.

And it got even better after the Hurts comments.  The t-shirts, the cliched sayings, the lack of LBs, how easy it was for Diggs to challenge Smith and press him.  So many things.

God almighty, can some of you please read, process, and internalize this...

Lol can't wait to see the predictions for next week

No I'm not tryting to win a SB this year, and Flacco and Minshew would be placement holders at best, till we can get another QB in the offseason.

But what it would do, is allow the other pieces on the Offense to develop, Like WR etc. Also allow Siri to improve, without losing the lockeroom. Right now, none of that is going to happen with Hurts at QB

Sticking with Hurts is a disaster waiting to happen.

Marcus Epps is a serviceable 3rd safety.  I have no issues with him.  He shouldn't start but Wallace shouldn't either.  Rather would have signed Malik Hooker and cut Wallace.

No idea, they called it on Hargrave for unsportsmanlike, but man oh man was I laughing when he just shoved that dude over. Hargrave is the one bright light on the entire team so far.

Yup
