This may be an unpopular opinion.

I think extending Sweat was a mistake

He's a backup rotation DE.

I think he works hard and is a good dude but doesn't offer enough to make much of a difference

Sweat was absolutely useless last night.

Sure he had a sack when no one even touched him but other than that he was totally invisible and has been in all 3 games.

He's got one pass rush move and when he gets stoned he does this weird MMA flying fist move where he takes a mini jump into the OL which accomplishes absolutely nothing 🤔.

He's got zero bend and zero change of direction. Once he's going one way that's where he's going, he can't plant and turn and chase as his knee won't let him.

The drop off from graham to him was exponential last night, tough to watch him.

Kerrigan wasn't any better as he looks washed, just slow no explosion just old and ineffective.

As for Barnett I get the eagles chose to extend sweat instead of Barnett I don't think they should have extended either.

I miss BG 😢

I think this is valid.  I also think he was playing on the wrong side. The real problem was they had to extend one Sweat or Barnett no?  I mean if both Sweat and Barnett walk then who do you have left?

Reagor had a decent game?  In what way?  Please, I’d love to hear this.

He caught the balls he was given a chance to catch and didnt make any dumb mistakes

They need to take him off punt return because its pointless.  Im talking about him as a receiver, and he had a decent game.

So...  have we arrived at the point where we're calling Jalen Hurts "so dysfunctional"?

I mean, I'm as concerned about him as most everyone else, but aren't we reaching the point of hyperbole when we say he's "so dysfunctional"...

Just for those with some sense of logic and reason left, might I suggest substituting "struggling" or "pressing" or any of a few lesser terms than "dysfunctional" for a guy who actually completed 64% of his passes?

I mean, c'mon....

I am not sure about those word choices but I can say unequivocally, he flat out was hot garbage last night.

He had 5 catches on 8 targets.  I don't think I saw any egregious mistakes.

He got cute on a PR and that's about it.

That malcontent?  Sheesh.  What makes you think he’d be happy here?

I have no idea, just know he would be a major upgrade!

I don't care to go back and watch the game, @justrelaxmight have some input here, but it seemed ol 69 struggled the most on combo and hand offs.  That boils down to communication, time in the system and reps

Agreed.  Dallas ran several combos against both Dickerson and Dillard.

Im trying very much to exercise every ounce of patience I have with Hurts. It's really in our best interests if he can succeed. But so far in his limited career, he has shown far more bad than good.

I'm "so dysfunctional" I forgot to watch the game...

I love, though, that even when there's plenty to be negative about, you still take it down a couple notches...  you love this shite...

Very low bar for Reachor.  If last night was a "decent game”.

He is going to need to turn it around quickly otherwise his name will go from Reachor to Reachless.

Dysfunctional...not operating normally or properly.

So you think Hurts was operating properly?  That's no straw man.  If you have a problem with dysfunctional, then you think he was playing properly.  Yet I took it down a couple notches.  So apparently he was even better than that.

I'm not so sure this is a number we can objectively look at till we see that pass distribution chart.  Most of his completions were screens, swings and lil flips to the TE on the run from what I remember.

Moreover, about half of his completions were at or behind the line of scrimmage - and the vast majority were less than 10 yards.

"Limited" might be another term to use.  Dysfunctional is a bridge too far right now.

"Hot garbage" is useful analysis, though...  very constructive...

and further, anyone who expected anything different at this point had the wrong expectation of Hurts.  He looked good in week 1, but now it seems as though thats because he had time and space to make good throws.  Add a decent defense into the mix and he struggles.

Everything we are seeing is what I expected with him.  I've always had my doubts that he'd be able to run an NFL offense over a sustained time period.  But even for myself, I acknowledge that a project QB needs more time than this to be declared a finished product.

Last night though, he wasn't even making the most basic plays you need an NFL QB to make.  I think it won't get a whole lot better these next few weeks either...

How many of those completed passes were in garbage time against soft coverage?

You can sit here all day and describe him with as many words as you want.  He is not a starting NFL caliber QB.  If I have to analyze it for you, get a larger tv.

Yeah sorry- Hurts has not shown me anything that gives me any hope he can progress. His is exactly who I thought he was, a read option QB, he had all offseason to progress from last season and to date I have not seen any progression. The high lights he has are mostly running.  The few throws that are highlights, (even a blind squirrel will find a nut, a broken clock is correct 2x a day) he did hit the first TD to Smith in the opener which was a nice pass. He hit Quez last week on a long pass, and otherwise has been unimpressive at best.

Sure players can improve, but this guy would have to improve more than I think is possible. Foles showed more promise in his first 6-7 starts.

Lol on that throw the defender seemed so surprised by how bad the pass was that he dropped it.

Right? He should’ve picked it off. Don’t get me wrong sirianni called way too many passes when his quarterback was awful in that game.

However that play call was actually a good call. Dallas Goedert easily gets a first on that drive with a good pass and that should’ve continued the drive. He also should’ve had a touchdown on one drive if our quarterback puts the ball where it needs to be. Same thing was said week one when he under throws ertz who had a touchdown with a good throw. Meanwhile we were lucky atlanta didn’t review the play cause it looked like the ball hit the ground as ertz tried to catch it

the amazing part to me is last year we absolutely destroyed wentz for missing those easy throws that would’ve extended drives and given them touchdowns even when doug got pass happy like sanders have 6 runs in a game. Yet this game hurts is missing those same throws and yet it’s sirianni’s fault for throwing too much knowing our QB is missing routine nfl passes. I’m sorry when for 5.5 consecutive quarters hurts is 13-30 with 2 ints, an offense that scored 8 points over that time and thrown more Td passes to the defense that means your QB was bad for the better part of 2 games outside of a quarter and garbage time

I think it's better to say that there was little to no encouraging aspects of his play last night that pointed towards future success.

Just now, Utebird said:

I get that...  I am not happy with what I've seen...  don't translate my pointing out that he's not "dysfunctional" as some sort of excuse for the way he's playing...

In my opinion, until the Head Coach decides to help his young QB out, he's going to "struggle" and "press" given his, so far, apparently somewhat "limited" skill set...
