All true, except that 2017 wasn't just two years ago.

Sorry, at the time it was 3 years.

Yep pretty rough. It’s been like that lately. I’ve developed a if you can’t beat em join Attitude

And people have been suspended for a hell of a lot less lately.  @4for4EaglesNest can attest to that.

If Watson is on the field, we'd be a good team.

I just have no desire to root for Watson.

Agree, we'd be good.  But that won't sniff a playoff run; we need to be great

In the offseason....and somehow he is still healthy after Week 3.

They do not use him as their #1 or #2 WR, he comes in at times, and may line up anywhere, but he isn't asked to be carrying the load, he is an extra piece, and in that regard is being used correctly. Occasionally, where his speed can be of assistance.

Wow

He is on ignore for me, as with like 20+ other trolls.

Just a point on Reagor.  Kids today, esp those in sports and entertainment, are very much about building their brand and social media presence, and have a Morrissey complex. They wanna be adored and don't take friendly to people bursting that bubble.  Reagor needs pass his account over to his Agent's social media team and walk away from it.  Concentrate on his job.

His old man should know better than respond to idiotic hacks like BLG.

Pretty sure the real issue is will he be suspended at any point in the future as a result of his legal predicament.

Well this is the thing. On a purely football ability basis you’d want him on your team. The problem is the legal issues outside of football to which any team he may sign with have zero control over, and I don’t know why any team would trade for a player and give up draft picks for, when you don’t know from one day to the next whether he’ll be able to play for you. I’m surprised he hasn’t been put on the commissioner’s list and that way the Texans don’t have to do anything and they can let the legal issues play out whichever way they do.

Howie will undoubtedly make the wrong decision whenever an opportunity presents itself.

Trading for Watson would be a mistake.

Everyone knows that.  You're not sharing any groundbreaking news.  Whoever trades for him, understands that.  And whoever trades for him, is getting him because of the long term prospect of what he would be to the team.  Not just for the season or half season that he is or isn't suspended.  He's 26 years old.

Spending cap and draft capital on someone who could be embroiled in off the field legal issues and suspended for an entire season would be incredibly stupid. Which is exactly why I fully expect Howie to make a go of it.

Tastes change over the years.  Apparently as you age, you lose a bit of the sweet tooth and start to crave more depth of flavor and some bitterness.   As youngsters, we just want the energy, so our body and tastes are all about the sweet.  On that same line, I can't stand the 'white chocolate', which is too sweet and doesn't have any cocoa powder (which has a bitterness to it), but now love the dark chocolate.  Milk chocolate is still good to me, but if I have a choice, I go dark chocolate every time now.

IDK bro, I like everything, including sweets

On a Mistake scale of Jjaw to Hurts, where does Trading for Watson fall as a mistake, Between JJAW and Hurts, past them or under them?

I mean we know he can actually play, the question mark is on his legal issues and whether he wants to play here, the latter would be have to be known before you make the trade, the prior would at least have to have a feel for before making the trade as well.

So in my eyes, if we decide to make that trade, it means we feel comfortable he will play here and it wont be a big legal issue, and that the compensation was fair.

Also, Howie sucks at drafting.  Like pretty bad.  So it will be better value then what his dumb arse will get in return.  And as far as the cap goes....I am told Howie is a cap genius and that he's got this.  So we are good....right?

No, we are not good. We are bad. Really bad.

I am on the fence TBH.  I know that's been their plan all along.  But I don't like the signals he was sending to the Texans organization before the allegations came out.  With a racial tone, he had an issue with the GM position and the HC hiring process.  Then all of the sudden these claims come out?  Pretty curious timing.  But he comes off as a bad guy.  And could be problematic here as well.  So If I had my choice, I'd rather we hold on to all of the picks, FIRE HOWIE and have a real GM rebuild this thing the right way.  If we hold onto Howie, then Watson might be worth the gamble.

How is that for a committed stance?

I totally get your stance, SInce I have 0 faith in Lurie firing Howie, and or Howie drafting well with those picks, I'm ok with taking the risk ona guy we know we can play,  and gambling to see if he can mature, and work here.

Now to be honest I would rather have Rodgers for 4-5 years, over Watson for a decade.

Acquiring a top 6 QB isn’t a mistake especially when the upcoming draft class is Slovis and Rattler

No way, no how Rodgers would come to Philly. My guess is Denver or San Francisco

The Raiders got Denzel Perryman for a damn 6th round pick and they even got a 7th rounder back in the deal. That guy would easily be our #1 LB here. He's making a difference on that Raiders D. I f'n hate this FO more than I ever have for this team. F'n terrible and we're not going anywhere with the disgraceful FO and their flawed egotistical views.

Houston isn't going to want players.  They darn sure aren't going to want old players like Slay and Cox.  Sanders is a RB, they have little trade value in todays NFL.  Goedert will be up for a deal, so you can scratch him.  And Hargrave has been a good player, but hardly the building block (like a QB) that Houston would want in return.  So just because they are the few quality players we have, doesn't mean the Texans would want them in a trade.  It would be draft picks and a lot of them.

Not to the Texans!  David Johnson was worth a whole lot to them.

If we traded Sanders right now I’m guessing we’d get a 3rd. Ajayi was worth a 4th.

IF they’re going to do it (I don’t want it to happen, but the likelihood keeps increasing), the trade has to happen this month.

The NFL doesn’t want one of their stars sidelined for two years. This is already a rebuilding season. You could probably work something out with them to get the suspension process rolling so 2022 isn’t affected too much.

Two 1’s and two 2’s in 2022 should pretty much get it done.

That was because Bill O'Brien was a moron.

We also traded a 4th for Avery.  What does that matter?

Ajayi was damaged,  but he had that monster year in 2016.  The Eagles were willing to spend a 4th because they were going all in.   I like Sanders, it's not his fault the owner doesn't like the running game.  But I would be surprised if we got more than a 4th for him.

If it’s a team going all in they’d give up more than a 4th imo. Sanders has more game breaking ability. But he’s still worth more to us.

Howie thought he was getting a 7-9 sack a year guy with Avery. Now he’s playing linebacker.

Where on earth have I been? When did DeSean sign with the Rams?

Way back before the draft I think.  Now watch him be healthy all season and kill it for the Rams like we saw in the last game.

Logan Wilson, a guy a lot of us mentioned before leading up to the 2020 draft, looks really really good. 3rd round pick.

I would still rather have Rodgers over Watson, but if we can only get Watson, I take it!
