You're overcomplicating everything. Howie either wins this year or he's gone.

Simple.

Doubtful.  Everyone knows this is a rebuild year.  Wouldn’t make too much sense firing your GM, 1 year into a (planned) 2 year rebuild, would it?

No. The dead money on the trade makes it not worth it unless it's for a top 10 pick...but anyone trading for Hargrave is a contender.

The Eagles average 129 yards per game rushing the ball. (5th) Hopefully they commit this game

Yes, but no one would make that offer after 3 awesome games.

That Landon Dickerson is so bad they're switching his position after one start! *sarcasm*

Don't know why I'm even going to bother to engage.... let's call it psychological fascination.

If Howie doesn't win shite this year, why ON EARTH would you allow him to make the picks?

My question is what qualified GM is gonna take this job? If I’m an up and coming GM who is gonna have their selection of jobs why would I pick Philly?

The Gettlemans of the world who who we would be picking from. Owners that get to involved don’t attract good GMs. As long as Lurie owns this team it doesn’t matter who the GM is. Lurie knows Howie will do whatever he says with no complaint. We can go 1-16 and he will still be here.

Hopefully the line does well this time

I don't see Lurie firing Howie, I just can't.

However, Howie could stay as VP of football operations, but a new hire executive be given final say on the draft.

For Lurie and Howie this could be a compromise that could work.

@LeanMeanGM

Eagles 24 KC 21

Bonus - Eagles get a pick six

What qualified GM is ever out there?

The best don't move. So you're talking assistants like Douglas.

Which is a crap shoot.

For your first mission.  Use this as describing the unique relationship between Howie/Lurie. Hopefully more than just faces.  @Swoop @e-a-g-l-e-s eagles!

Interesting.

I still don't see the rush in getting Dickerson on the field, he doesn't seem right, why not play Herbig and let Dickerson heal up?

Seems like more Howie meddling.

Rick Smith could be an interesting choice:

Quote

Under Smith's 12-year leadership, Houston logged its first winning season (2009) and captured four AFC South division titles (2011, 2012, 2015, 2016). He oversaw several blue-chip draft selections, including Deshaun Watson, JJ Watt, and DeAndre Hopkins. In total, Smith was responsible for 39 Pro Bowlers, largely through his best-player-available ideology.

This is flawed logic. So you’ll never make a move until someone out there that is fully proven to be qualified or as qualified as Howie? So the eagles never should’ve fired reid cause there was no one else out there that would have been as qualified at HC or better. So they shouldn’t have hired reid in 1999 cause he wasn’t a qualified as a head coach yet.

heck howie originally shouldn’t have been hired cause he wasn’t a qualified GM at that time and the Eagles under reid and banner had the best decade of success in eagles modern history

Dickerson will probably relent to the training room eventually, since he doesn’t look right, thus extending the OL shuffle and further compromising his development.  I’m sure we’ll see lots of OL shuffling in today.

On the plus side, when we don’t run the ball and all the qb does is run uncontrolled out of the pocket right after of the snap,  the OL isn’t that critical.

Break the streak!

Since the football will likely suck today, what is everyone’s football man cave status?   I finished mine a little over a year ago and now never watch games in it…not in Philly area so I just stream the games.  This team isn’t worth it to pay for direct TV to see them on a real screen.

Meh … be a real fan. That means watching thru good and bad times.

I watch on my laptop and never miss a game unless I’m working or on vacation.  Although today I might still be working by game time.

At what point did this organization go off the rails???

What was the flash point?

Anyone else completely unenthused this morning?

Yup, I just want my excuse to eat a delicious cheesesteak. Game days do that for me lol.

I'm hoping Hurts surprises us and plays great
