What the hell is growing on Brees head?

It's one of the great mysteries early in this season.  It has to be a rug.  He couldn't have had a transplant actually take and then grow in the short time since he retired.  I'm thinking he got a transplant and he has to wear whatever the hell that thing is to cover it up until it's grown in.

It's not like they were chucking the ball over the field. They were throwing screens and some short passes. The gameplan was absolutely built around Jalen Hurts.

With Hurts you need a run game to make RPO and PA effective. The defense isn't going to honor the run threat without.

I’m not ready to ditch Gannon. Brandon Graham being hurt is huge. They invest nothing in linebacker and the secondary isn’t good either. But yeah getting torched two games in a row isn’t good.

Yeah so far Gannon is doing the exact same thing Schwartz was, bend but don't break play zone all game never blitz, difference is Schwartz defense didn't give up as many points and gave the same look every snap single high and Gannon is more cover 2 but still drop 7 rush 4 every play.👎

Gannon thinks if he gives a 34 look and still drops 7 in a zone some how the offense will be confused when it's the exact same zone.

I was hoping for some innovation and wrinkles and maybe some blitzes, but nope drop 7 in zone rush 4 every play.☹️

Having said that Gannon doesn't have much to work with. The LBs are atrocious the whole D line outside of hargrave have been awful and the safeties have been invisible so far as well.

It's just a really bad group on all 3 levels devoid of much talent☹️

Here's my thing. If you want to throw the ball 40 plus times every game Hurts isn't your guy. You have to gamelan to your guys strengths. He's not a gunslinger.

If you want to win games in the NFL Hurts is not your guy.

this d looks worse than Juan Castillo's d.  They look more prepared this year, but terrible game plan and  struggling to get the most out of your players.

secondary has looked okay to me.  almost zero pressure.

They had 460 yards of offense. They were pretty effective.

I was trying to be nice but you aren't wrong lol. He's a great solid 2 but a below average 1.

Yup. The Chiefs didn't punt!

Yeah until they got to the 20. Yards don't win games. Touchdowns do. And garbage time stats are nothing to brag about.

Feels like a classic Brady game where odds are stacked against him, he stages a comeback and wins. It’ll just be ironic it’s in Gillette stadium and against the Pats

Nope. I said it after the Falcons game...he will look good at times and run the ball, but he is not someone who throw the ball well enough to beat another good QB.

I said quite awhile ago if the Eagles solve their CB issues then offenses will begin attacking the LBs.  Pass rush being ineffective means the D will have to start mixing in blitzes

At least with Schwartz the run D was solid. Now we don't even have that.

I’ve read there’s some good options for LB prospects this year, Hope this is finally the year Eagles address the position high

Witten had the best rug

It's a damn shame for a city that used to take so much pride in great defense and a franchise that has had legitimate game changing defenders, players who changed what their position would be after them (Reggie White, Brian Dawkins and even William Thomas, who was ahead of his time) on top of all-timers in Eric Allen, Seth Joyner, Clyde Simmons on top of so many other great defenders that we are being force fed this trash heap of a defense.

Our best defensive end plays 40% of the snaps and it will be considered a good season if he gets 8 sacks.

Our highest paid player on the team has 4 tackles on the season but we're told he impacts the game in other ways.

Our secondary still doesn't have an interception.

What's a linebacker?

Is this a Howie thing?  How can Schwartz, who's defense was solid but not great, be this sorely missed after just 4 games.  Gannon has shown nothing as far as adjustments or using the players to their strength, and I say strength very cautiously because not many of the players have strengths.

What's it going to take to get a great defense back in Philadelphia?

Don't make me defend Juan again it's tiring

Juan is the eagles best DC Since JJ and it's not close.

He did better with the same guys than McDermott and bowels did and neither of them had to put up with human trash Jim Washburn

Having said that Gannon probably has the worst talent on defense of all those guys since JJ as well.

Yep. And with the defense the way it is he's going to need to win shootouts. He's not good enough to do that. Gonna be a long year.

Totally agree, I think for the eagles to be great on defense again lowie need to be gone.

As long as both those guys are in charge they'll continue to allocate resources to offense because offense especially in today's NFL doesn't always win but it sells tickets.

His incompletions are frustrating.  Inaccurate or to the wrong guy.

He is leaving the pocket early, which doesn't show up in those numbers.

A couple games of garbage time stats.

He looks like his ceiling is the 11th-15th best QB in the league.  No man's land.

The most frustrating thing about Hurts to me is the lack of progression. When he locks on and in 2-3 seconds he just runs around and tries to play make.

My biggest fear of his numbers is exactly what Sirianni said afterward. Hurts having his best game or something. Ughh

Besides Graham you can say the same thing about the last few years. Gannon is just so boring and predictable. 1st and 2nd down is going to be zone, 4 man rush at most rush with 2 deep safeties. Schwartz cared more about stopping the run, Gannon cares more about stopping the big play. IMO, stopping the run first makes a better defense. Big plays suck but they are low percentage plays. Having massive holes and getting secondary blocking for safe and easy runs leads to the D giving up a ton of yards and eventually getting gassed and then giving up the big play. I just wanna see Gannon mix it up more.

Who did Nick Mangold have to sleep with to become the face of a Bud Light Seltzer commercial?  I've seen it plenty of times but what a strange thought process as to what would make a successful commercial.

it always looked like he was in over his head, treading water.    probably why he's never had a second chance on another team.
