Yeah.  But like week 1, the bubble screens were working.  The quick throws to the backs were working.  Outs to the TEs.

KC isn't that good on defense.  If we were competent in the red zone we'd be score-for-score with them.

I don’t get the Mac Jones hype, dink and dunk not really any zip should have at least had two picks to lbs.

Same.  Didn't seem all that impressive to me.  Maybe he will be really good but he will have to do more than dink and dunk.

If people think Hurts has a weak arm, what can you say about Jones?  Some of his throws took a half hour to get out to the sideline.

Carson only needs...

BAL, CIN, DET, KC, NO, NE, PHI, SEA, TB, & TEN

(Just slayed MIA for the first time today.)

Barely missed another 19+ point loss, this is going to be a very long couple of weeks

This looks photoshopped

My biggest disappointment with Gannon is the lack of creativity. Give your guys a chance!

What happened to guys are gonna rip at the ball and force fumbles? What happened to "our linebackers are proccessing at a pretty good level"? What happened to the HITS principles?

Holes-Coverage, Intercept-nothing, Miss-Tackles, Slow?

Run defense has been garbage. Was BG the only good run defender on the DL? Pass defense was terrible today. They're looking worse and worse.

Okay who beats the hell out of us this week?

Ah, Manu...  I had hopes for you to maintain your balanced approach to this team...

Thanks for posting. This is what I was getting at earlier. While Hurts didn't have a bad game, per se, he really didn't have a great one despite what the numbers indicate.

He has happy feet in the pocket. He isn't reading the field. He rolls to his right far too often. When he's forced to his left he isn't very good at passing. He had an extremely dumb pass that fortunately wasn't intercepted. He had a dumb fumble. He threw it out of bounds on 4th down. The majority of his passes are short dump offs to the right.

He can get away with that against some of the worst defenses in the league. Against middle of the pack teams (San Fran) and good teams (Dallas) he looked like garbage. It's not going to be hard (as we have seen) to shut him/us down when we play any semblance of an actual defense.

Who did Nick Mangold have to sleep with to become the face of a Bud Light Seltzer commercial?  I've seen it plenty of times but what a strange thought process as to what would make a successful commercial.

Spuds McKenzie.   And of course, he prefers doggie style.

This is the perfect post on yesterday.  Oftentimes, people spend too much time on stats and ignore the rest.  He did play better than the DAL game, BUT....this is ANOTHER game where he piled up good stats, but the Eagles still lost the game.  It's happened several times now.  Good for fantasy football, but does not translate in real life.

Much better spread than previously.   The third throw to Goedert on that first drive was something I'd been waiting to see.

But, the RZ needs a lot of work.  They seem to be force feeding him there by refusing to run the ball and making him make the reads and the throws.  I'm ok with that.  If this season is about Hurts, then let it be about Hurts.  We saw last Monday Night that this team isn't in contention for the division.  Just focus on Hurts.   He has a lot of things to fix, but he threw to much more of the field today.    But, he has GOT to get the ball out faster on RPOs and has GOT to get a better feel for the pocket.

So the whole season is about Hurts? Winning isn't a thing? While this post is carefully thought out and well written I disagree that a whole season needs to be about developing a quarterback at the expense of losing games that could be won. If that's the case then maybe he should have played every snap of pre-season instead of sitting it out like some privileged long time starter.

The season needs to be about both, and refusing to run the ball to the detriment of a win is unfair to every player including Hurts.

It was a joke since Hurts rarely throws between the hashes.

@LeanMeanGM

Carolina 36 - Philly 21

BTW who's been winning this?

I’m not complaining. Clearly the game plan was working. One of Hurts’ best throws was a pass to Goedert in between the hashes and a pair of defenders.

Progress.

I'm not sure why people are so upset about our defense/Gannon after yesterday. We widely acknowledged in here that our defense has no play makers (appears Hargrave is the only one), and we just played the best offense in the league. It shouldn't be surprising we got lit up by them. And Dallas the week before, guess what, they have a great offense too. It happens. We were able to limit Atlanta and San Fran, two lesser offenses. So, let's wait and see before claiming Gannon should be fired already.

Sadly, this was one of our best efforts on defense yesterday. Cool play design.

It’s reasonable to ask a defense not to give up nearly 200 yards rushing on 7 yards a pop while allowing TDs on 6 of 7 drives.

That defense was worse than the time we played at the Saints without any corners.

At least Sweat played more.

For me... yeah, I'm ok with it.  I had this team pegged for 5 wins.  Getting the QB decision right is the most important single piece.  So, while it sucks, and it will continue to suck, I prefer that to NFL purgatory of 7 - 9 wins, out of the playoffs, but out of the difference makers at the top of the draft.  Holding Miami's pick is nice, but getting two difference makers or having the ammo to move up for a QB, or maybe trade back with one to get a difference maker with one pick, a really good player with the other and some more ammo for moves next offseason.

As for the lack of play in the PS, I agree.  The fact that they punted on the PS really sticks in my craw even now.

Eh, I didn't have much hope we'd be able to stop them going into this game. We have an insane lack of talent on D, combined with idiotic players (Looking at you Barnett), it was always gonna be this way.

For the record, I would actually like to see Gannon bench Barnett (maybe that's a decision Sirianni needs to make).

A gameplan that puts zero pressure on the opposing offense is going to fail. The entire plan was "hope the Chiefs" make a mistake. We're playing against Mahomes...so the plan is to hope the best QB makes lots of mistakes?

If TJ Edwards is the teams best run stopping LB and the opposing team is on their way to 200 yards on the ground, why did he only play 17 snaps?  Wilson and Singleton were horrible.  Not that TJ Edwards makes a difference in the game but just thinking about the use of personnel.

What happened to Patrick Johnson?  His snaps were increasing every week and yesterday he didn't play on defense at all.

I'd like to see more Marcus Epps and less Anthony Harris but the likes of that happening are very slim.

Congratulations Ryan Kerrigan.  You now have over 100 snaps without recording a single stat!

It was a no win situation. Their offense is at one end of the spectrum, and our defense is at the other end. If he blitzed a lot, and Mahomes torched the blitz, he'd get criticized for that too.
