Heinicke is rated over Jackson, Rodgers, Allen, Prescott, and Herbert in QBR and @4for4EaglesNest is using it as an argument😂😂😂 thats just stupid on all levels

Heinicke, while likely unsustainable, has been pretty good this year. He has 8 passing TDs and he's only started 3 games. He has 2 game winning drives. He's tied with Lamar (so no, he isn't over him)..is a literal point above Dak and only a few above the other two.

He's been every bit as good as those players so far.

Eh, I didn't have much hope we'd be able to stop them going into this game. We have an insane lack of talent on D, combined with idiotic players (Looking at you Barnett), it was always gonna be this way.

For the record, I would actually like to see Gannon bench Barnett (maybe that's a decision Sirianni needs to make).

yup

It’s reasonable to ask a defense not to give up nearly 200 yards rushing on 7 yards a pop while allowing TDs on 6 of 7 drives.

That defense was worse than the time we played at the Saints without any corners.

Yeah I am not a fan of Gannon's Bend and Break Defense.

Barnett should absolutely be held accountable for his bone-headed plays and sitting would maybe send the message.  He's in a contract year, so every snap he misses could mean lost money.  Maybe not a full game, maybe not even a half, but his snaps should definitely be dramatically decreased.   (And letting him on the field in some capacity would allow him to prove he's learned something.  Just sitting on the bench wouldn't afford him the opportunity to show any growth.)

If TJ Edwards is the teams best run stopping LB and the opposing team is on their way to 200 yards on the ground, why did he only play 17 snaps?  Wilson and Singleton were horrible.  Not that TJ Edwards makes a difference in the game but just thinking about the use of personnel.

What happened to Patrick Johnson?  His snaps were increasing every week and yesterday he didn't play on defense at all.

I'd like to see more Marcus Epps and less Anthony Harris but the likes of that happening are very slim.

Congratulations Ryan Kerrigan.  You now have over 100 snaps without recording a single stat!

I’m with you on Edwards. At least he pulls the trigger in run defense. If he’s out there and you see him sitting and waiting until the RB is two yards past the LOS to attack then you know it’s coaching.

My guess is Gannon was content daring Andy to stick with the run, but it’s not much of a dare at 7 yards per carry. Maybe at 5.

I'm no expert on  the d line and I know Defensive tackles aren't stats builders. But I agree Cox has been non-existent this year

Given how he's looked good in the 3 previous games, it's fine as long as it's a one-off.

I do wish we didn't restructure his deal, even though the carryover cap space off-sets this.

Unfortunately we don’t have enough bodies to sit him. Kerrigan might be washed, and Jackson is bad. Williams should be an attacking DT.

But he needed to be sat down for a bit immediately after his penalty against SF, then his offsides vs Dallas and again yesterday.

His play has been pretty meh for a couple of seasons now. I know people are going to cry about it, but it's the truth.

Yeah just bench him for the first quarter even. I'm fine with that. See how he responds (I have a hunch he would be petulant). But right now, you can set your watch to him having at least one 15 yard penalty per game, and lately seems like an offside thrown in for good measure (and seemingly always on a play that would shift momentum to us).

Went back and watched our offense in the first half.  Not much to complain about between the 20s.

Sirianni got to ball to the playmakers in space.  Very effective at changing pace.  Hurts was pretty accurate, save the overthrow to Ertz.

We lost by 12 points.  That's the three misfires in the red zone.

Its funny when you watch it on replay or rewatch, perspective can totally change. I had to watch later and tracking on my phone live.

I was pretty encouraged watching the game.  Im backing off the ledge a tad after last week, because yesterday was more of a 2016 feel than a 2015 feel.

It felt like our offense just needed refined in the red zone.  OL depth proved adequate, WRs and TEs looked legit.  But Im willing to continue tracking with Hurts if he can keep playing like yesterday

Theyre still not running the ball well.  Im wondering if Miles Sanders is done here.

Defense is a whole other story. We dont have the horses and its not close.  But we knew that going in.  Im hoping for 2/3 of our. hypothetical 1st rounders going to defense

Cox has been nothing close to an impact player on defense.  He looked disinterested and/or out of shape pursuing Mahomes on his QB run yesterday.  His best days are long behind him, and that restructure was bad for the organization.

Yes defense needs to be the focus this offseason. It's encouraging that Smith looks great, Reagor looks to be OK as the number 2/3, and Watkins has looked good. Dare I say we may have finally figured out WR. Gainwell looks good, he'll need a guy to complement him, but I'm fine with trading Sanders or let him walk when his contract is up. Goedert is the interesting one, if they can get him on a team friendly deal, then OK, if he wants top 5 money, that's a bit tougher. But the skill guys on offense look good so far to me.

Of course, adding youth/talent to the o-line would also be good, but the focus needs to be defense. Obviously the dream scenario of Thibodeaux, Stingley, Hamilton is a pipe dream, but even getting two of those guys would make a huge difference. And of course, we need real NFL LB's. It's gross what we put out there each week.

The guy next to him has 5 sacks in 4 games.  DT can 100% pile up stats...or at least make a tackle.

Eagles lost and you got to learn more about Hurts and the Coaching staff

Colts won, Wentz looked good

Dolphins lost.

So the whole season is about Hurts? Winning isn't a thing? While this post is carefully thought out and well written I disagree that a whole season needs to be about developing a quarterback at the expense of losing games that could be won. If that's the case then maybe he should have played every snap of pre-season instead of sitting it out like some privileged long time starter.

The season needs to be about both, and refusing to run the ball to the detriment of a win is unfair to every player including Hurts.

Nah we need to answer the qb question clearly so we can plan long term. Higher picks helps the plan either way. Plenty of other positions to evaluate and prioritize after qb as well

So much wrong with this team still, and a lot of the blame rests with the staff. Probably the most frustrating for me is how underutilized our best offensive player is. Also, while it's true we have a massive dearth of talent on defense, I'd still like to see more creativity and feel for the game schematically from Gannon. I know he's young and that's something that could take time to develop, but still.

I'll just leave this here.

How? 2-15 is WAY better then 7-10 and this team wont sniff the playoffs. IDIOT

Fraud.

Whatever happens, the Eagles are stuck with Fletcher Cox for another year because, and wait for it, the dead money on the cap will be north of $20-30m if they release/trade  him.  Thanks Howie for the recent restructure 👍

They can but they can also do other things that do not pile up stats
