VaBeach_Eagle Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 That's awesome for him, to go from having never seen an American Football game in his life, to 4 years, $64 Million and starting LT in what, 4 years? 11
time2rock Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 Great move!! He’s going to be a very good LT for a long time! 4
Casey @ Bat Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 Wow. That’s great, Dillard will be moved. 1
CheesesteakNBeer Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 Good to lock him up, he plays well this year he could of cost alot more.

Mike030270 Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 We haven't had a lot of luck signing players for potential. Hopefully he works out and stays healthy
EazyEaglez Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 Definitely earned. Good move by the FO. 1
Guest Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 Be interesting to see how the deal is structured with less than 10 million available under this and next years cap. His cap number this year will increase significantly with the pro rated signing bonus.
Bwestbrook36 Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 Great news! And when he out plays this contract and asks for more in a year everyone will piss and moan about him not playing out his contract 1
Go Birds52 Posted September 11, 2021 Author Posted September 11, 2021 Jeff Stoutland is the one who should get the most credit for this 4
D-Shiznit Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 Very happy for him. A true success story for the player and the franchise. Way to go to all involved. 3
Bwestbrook36 Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 I would have waited 1 more year a full year. These early contracts bite us in the ass way to many times

Couch Potato Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 Congratulations to him , that's life changing money for a guy like him. 2

Now was the time to do this. 3

JP HOF Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 I like Mailata a lot but that deal is outrageous. 1
LacesOut Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 Good job, FO. And no team wants Dillard. He will just be a backup on the Birds until he is cut/released. Reminds me of the Fireman Danny Watkins draft pick. Ugh.

He is the 15th highest paid tackle by yearly average, and when the meat of his contract kicks in after new guys get their deals, he will not even be top 25-30.

Yes if we are gonna give credit to Stoutland for Mailata then we have to give criticism for Dillard. They are both talented but, one had a different mindset then the other to compete and get better. Stoutland can't control the mindset of players. 2
