No, then again neither did Europe.

Both are equally huge problems for different reasons.

Problem with Europe is that they are not unified in their "support” of Ukraine. You have the pro Putin faction of Hungary (Orban) and Slovakia (Fico), who are actively blocking aid for Ukraine and sanctions against Russia. That’s the idiotic concept of the EU, that one county can just block an entire project with one vote.

Then you have political parties like the AFD in Germany who are also pro Russia and they have infiltrated the government with Russian propaganda.

It’s a mess with too many players not able to come to one conclusion: Putin’s Russia is the threat and the enemy that needs to be stopped at the Ukrainian border.

Not to mention that Europe just isn't ready. It will take a number of years for EU countries to build up enough to take real action. Defense was outsourced for decades and then the plug partially pulled.

Totally agree. Europe has been sleepwalking through the last 20 years and everyone assumed that "war” was behind them. A country that has always been on their game is Finnland. They may be small and couldn’t stand up to Russia on their own, but they have done a masterful job of always being weary of Russia and never putting their guard down. Germany on the other hand has been duped into believing Putin’s Russia is a friend. Now they’re finally waking up to reality and it is far too late in the game…🤦🏻‍♂️

Yeah, Finland is an exception. Sweden did continue with all the high tech stuff but their force levels were wiped out.

They’ve had the experience from the past and I’m sure that plays into their calculation. Sweden seems more neutral and really haven’t had the danger that the Fins have had, so I can actually understand why they haven’t been better. Germany on the other hand should have known better, but Merkel and her administration screwed that up royally. A lot of East Germans still have a positive view of Russia, which really makes no sense to me whatsoever. Just like Hungarians and Slowakians. They saw first hand what Russian rule really means…

There was 1 war started today. None stopped. You'd think, that after 17 times a person would learn to stop spiking the football cuz of a random tweet.
