Not sure if this is reliable information but it’s a bummer.

My impression, which isn’t worth much…

The bad news: all the skirmishes so far have just been probes from Putin to see how easily and bloodlessly Ukraine would roll over in a fight they  know they can’t win.  Some heroic bravery and the compelling pro-West propaganda we are exposed to can’t change the inevitable.

The good news: Putin, and his war, may have far less support in Russia than we thought.  Without that, this fire can only burn for so long and spread so far.

Hopefully weapons get there in time.

So with the Chechens that Putin is paying to help in Ukraine knowing about the invasion of Ukraine weeks ago, we can bury the BS about this somehow being justified by "shelling of Donetsk by Ukraine".

The house of cards looks like it's crumbling here. I really am starting to think it's possible Putin does not survive this.

I think I read it doesnt include oil banks, but really have no idea.

Isn’t SWIFT just the mechanism by which banks transact with one another internationally? Like in the US, domestic bank transactions run through the fed wires.

Think this basically means that these Russian banks are cut off from transacting with the world (and vice versa).

Curious to see how the capital markets react to this on Monday (or maybe it was already factored into the volatility we saw this past week).
