Pentagon Official: Russia Has Lost ‘Momentum’ in Ukraine Invasion

A senior Pentagon official told reporters on Friday afternoon that Russian forces have lost "momentum” in their invasion of Ukraine, although Russia has not yet deployed all available military forces.

"The Russians have lost a little bit of their momentum. No population centers have been taken. Russia has yet to achieve air superiority,” the official said. "They are not moving on Kyiv as fast as they anticipated it going.”

The official noted that "Ukrainian command and control is intact.”

Anyone ever think that perhaps we might use awacs over Poland to fly in covert flights of F35s for hot and run missions?  I mean, the Russian certainly don’t have the surface to air capabilities to even see a stealth plane in Ukraine.  Any thoughts to this at all?  Plausible?

It would be incredibly risky. No way you risk WW3 to make a marginal impact.

I have no doubt AWACS is in Poland feeding intel to Ukraine with Stinger Missiles. The Javelin and stinger missiles are taking a toll on the Ruskis.

While it may start WWIII. I no longer fear the Russian Military. They are no match for US/NATO combined forces in the air or on the ground. If Some F-35's flew some covert missions we will never hear about it.

I think this should be the American public’s main takeaway here.  They are weak AF conventionally!

I don’t understand Putins strategy unless he really thought Ukraine would immediately surrender at the first sign of danger, which doesn’t make sense either.

He thinks it’s like when he plays hockey and they just let him score 8 goals.  Sorry bud, the other side plays defense in war.

Humanity has seen this movie before. Just not with someone who has access to nuclear weapons.

Yeah. Thinking about it more maybe he just doesn’t care about the loss of Russian life and is sending in untrained soldiers and old junk first? Just have a hard time believing this is supposedly one of the top military powers of the world. Feels like he’s keeping some cards up his sleeve.

Here’s the thing. Tanker aircraft have been around 25k ft flying patterns in Romania and Poland for the last few days. They’re in civilian airspace so they’re broadcasting their acars data so you can see where they’re at. But you can’t see what they’re refueling. That makes me wonder. Like who are they refueling.

They are probably poorly trained for actual fighting

I think he might be terminally sick and doesn’t give a F.  I don’t think he makes it out of this in power.  He’s either dead or forcefully removed by his own people by the time this is over.

I'm not really sure how liberals factor in here, unless you're talking coal. And even there the EPA had much less of an effect on coal's marginalization than cheap natural gas.

We've been importing significant amounts of oil from Russia for over a decade. This isn't new.

We were a net exporter before Biden and now are so desperate we are paying Iran for oil. If we were prepared and independent we could shut that off.

They factor in because they shut down the pipeline and anything else that makes us energy independent. Most of us want solar or wind to work but in the meantime oil, coal, and gas are what we need.

My wife’s cousin can see them refueling from where she lives in the south of Poland. She said her cousin thinks it’s the US refueling US planes. I can’t confirm any of this though.
