They're in our hemisphere ffs, we should be in a better position with them. Doesn't mean you forget the past, but if you can forge a stronger relationship with Venezuela you both hurt Russia and start to gain influence.
March 9, 20223 yr I presume they mean the elephants foot more specifically? Curious if the concrete sarcophagus also got damaged during the attack.

We're not doing anything to even guarantee Ukraine won't be Russia by the end of the week. Looks more like funding Russia back door style. All of the money, none of the oil. Consider we're running a $30T debt as it is. Where is that coming from? Chief, if you think we are sending them 14B lump sum before the end of the week.....then I just don't what to say.

Not necessarily as a result self-enrichment, but just that failures in general tend to go unreported or improperly conveyed to avoid spoiling the "vision" or be perceived as impeding progress. Then when it becomes too apparent to sugar coat and everything comes to a head, leadership turns around and wonders how this possibly could've happened, without any thought that the corporate culture and incentive structures could've had anything to do with it.

March 9, 20223 yr Zelenskyy clearly doesn't understand US politics. All he needs to do is show one Ukrainian trans ducking Russian bullets and the Huffpost and MSNBC would be screaming at Biden to send those Polish MIGs.

"We shouldn't be advancing other countries who don't share our values." is such a stupid quote in this case. We use oil from plenty of countries that don't share our values. Saudi Arabia's an islamic theocracy that produced all the 9/11 hijackers who's currently engaged in a war in Yemen. We certainly don't share their values. We were getting oil from Russia until now and they're ruled by a fascist dictator; we didn't share their values. We should be getting oil from anywhere but Russia right now and so should Europe (which is why Manchin's quote is stupid as well; no one's stopping Europe from pursuing other avenues).

There is no gaining influence handing them money as their **** in desperate need. Drill our own resources and we won't be dependent on anyone going forward. Even some Democrats are seeing that.

As long as Venezuela isn't actively invading a neighboring democracy, then they should absolutely be used, at the very least in the short term.

How quick do we see a change in pricing You don't. That's not how global oil markets and oil refinement works. You might see a small change but there's literally nothing that can be done right now to meaningfully impact oil prices outside of... 1. Ending the Ukraine conflict and the world resetting relations with Russia. 2. OPEC agreeing to significantly increase production 3. Stop relying on fossil fuels and reduce the overall demand for it.

March 9, 20223 yr Power is out at Chernobyl nuclear plant, currently in Russian hands. Unconfirmed reports of radiation leak... although it could take days for that to happen.
March 9, 20223 yr 5 minutes ago, Bacarty2 said: again, Asking because I dont know... Why did the gas prices sky rocket after Biden signed his executive order on Day 1 They didn't. That's a fallacy shared by people who who are looking to assign blame. They began rising when Trump was in office because the economy started opening up. That continued under Biden when the economy really started to recover.
