UK says Russia is calling in reinforcements

The United Kingdom's Ministry of Defense on Tuesday announced that Russia's military has sought to call in reinforcements as the country has faced "continued personnel losses" during its ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

"Russia is increasingly seeking to generate additional troops to bolster and replace its personnel losses," the ministry stated in a public intelligence assessment, according to CNN.

The ministry also suggested that the call for more troops could be due to the strong resistance that Ukraine has managed to present since the invasion first began, the news outlet noted.

"It is likely Russia is struggling to conduct offensive operations in the face of sustained Ukrainian resistance," the ministry reportedly added in its assessment.

So again I ask, since you avoided the question, how do you jive arguing that Biden/NATO/EU etc were weak and that's why this happened, yet still argue that their response has been too aggressive? It's really gotta be one or the other my guy. Which bad take is gonna be?

Here's a real good example.  Sorry if it doesn't fall within the parameters you arbitrarily chose.

Exclusive: Secret CIA training program in Ukraine helped Kyiv prepare for Russian invasion

https://news.yahoo.com/exclusive-secret-cia-training-program-in-ukraine-helped-kyiv-prepare-for-russian-invasion-090052743.html

As part of the Ukraine-based training program, CIA paramilitaries taught their Ukrainian counterparts sniper techniques; how to operate U.S.-supplied Javelin anti-tank missiles and other equipment; how to evade digital tracking the Russians used to pinpoint the location of Ukrainian troops, which had left them vulnerable to attacks by artillery; how to use covert communications tools; and how to remain undetected in the war zone while also drawing out Russian and insurgent forces from their positions, among other skills, according to former officials.

If the program was so secret, how does Yahoo News know about it?

You find it funny that they’re getting ready to get even more brutal? They tried quick and cheap, it failed, now things get really bad. There’s nothing funny about it.

You'd think it'd almost be patriotic to point and laugh at Russia's failures but the usual suspects juuuuuuuuuuust can't bring themselves to do it.

Lead spinster right here.

Did Russia expect to "roll Ukraine" in a few days? Their stated goals clearly involved employing tactics which would be impossible to execute in a few days.

Because you refused to accept Russia at it's word, and instead engaged in your own media fantasies, the reality on the ground shows what a fool you are.

A lot of people are dead because the U.S. pushed a weaker nation into a war they knew they could not win. This is a f'ing disgrace.

Russia did multiple airborne drops. In the day. Without air superiority.

It's alright, zuk. I can feel your internal struggle. I'll dunk on Russia once for you too since I enjoy it so much. But don't get used to me carrying your water forever.

Glad I popped in to watch zuke get on his high horse over something again.

The absolute best part about Zuker claiming the moral high ground on any topic is that he, 100% of the time, does it like this...

I wrote my last post before I even read this, but that's the word that came to my mind. Watching politicians from both parties perform mental gymnastics on this conflict to support Ukraine without really supporting Ukraine is an embarrassment.

I'm ready to put my tax dollars to good use if that's what you mean.

Here's the Author. Why don't you ask him.

Zach Dorfman

National Security Correspondent

Zach Dorfman is a former Senior Staff Writer at the Aspen Institute’s Cyber and Technology program and a Senior Fellow at the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs.

As the battle lines hardened in Donbas, a small, select group of veteran CIA paramilitaries made their first secret trips to the frontlines to meet with Ukrainian counterparts there, according to former U.S. officials.

CIA paramilitaries soon concluded that, in Russia and its proxies, the agency was facing an adversary whose capabilities far outmatched the Islamist groups that CIA had been battling in the post-9/11 wars. "We learned a lot real quick,” says a former senior intelligence official — including about the Russians’ laser-blinding techniques. "That s*** wouldn’t happen with the Taliban.”

Was the base at Yavoriv within the NATO air defense umbrella? Being so close to the Polish border, one would think that NATO radar would have detected the threat and attempted to shoot down the cruise missiles. Poland purchased a couple Patriot missile batteries a few years ago.

The Russians were able to jam or completely evade detection by the Patriot missile systems. If that's true, it's a game-changer.

Maybe this is why Blinkin is accusing China of helping Russia with drones and intel. They didn't expect Russia to be able to pull this off. You know, being nothing but a gas station with nukes and all.

High precision cruise missiles which evade detection from hundreds of kilometers away? This isn't even their hypersonic stuff. Yea, NATO better sit this one out.
