I was there with you. I had flown in from Sweden and rented a downtown condo for the weekend with a couple local buddies. We watched it in the condo but then were on the streets within about 15 mins afterward. Crazy night! edit: I had done the same thing back in the '04 season but of course the outcome wasn't the same.

I'm curious if they are a legit hard no or if Erdogan is using this to negotiate for some concession they want from the other NATO members.

I'm not sure, and I wonder what the grater implications are. Turkey is no longer a democracy and doesn't belong in NATO.
