So like, Russia retook a few positions Ukraine took last week?

It takes Russia about a year into a war to figure out what's going on.  Remember the 20 plus mile convoy of Russian Tanks and vehicles headed to Kyiv when the war just got going?  Instead of needing A-10 Warthogs to wipe out that convoy, Ukraine just had to wait until they ran out of fuel and food, which was about 2.5 days, lol.  The convoy was abandoned immediately afterwards.

I want to adopt that dog

There’s a lot of dogs that need adopted. We had one that was found wandering Bucha.

Problem is that Ukraine has a higher amount of rabies so it’s damn near impossible to ship dogs overseas due to regulations.

I can't even imagine how long it would take Russia to overrun the entire European continent if not for trillions of US dollars. 🙄

You really think Putin didn't know this would happen? This is only temporary, people just don't understand time. Much as we hate to admit it, the guy is brilliant and this was all a masterstroke of genius!

Did you know that the EU members that are supporting Ukraine have been reduced to eating squirrels?

Nice try Olga: Russian state TV host claims Ukraine's allies are reduced to eating squirrels because they are spending all their money on military aid

I had some damn good squirrel stew last night.  @BFit would have been proud to eat that sheet.

Somewhere around the 2 year mark is where the sanctions should really start bite.

That's only because you don't understand time! You just need to have TEW explain it to you.

Question, cause Im dont want to try to read through long twitter threads and maybe still not find an answer.

I keep seeing Bakhmut referred to as the meat grinder. Its been weeks now where they keep talking about this bloody battle where no side is gaining any ground. And they say Russia mostly wants it for symbolic reasons as its really not that beneficial strategically.

So why is Ukraine so worried about defending it right now? Couldnt the be better served making gains elsewhere, and then just re-taking Bakhmut later on? Even if they are killing 5-7 Russians for every Ukrainian it still seems like both sides have taken a ton of losses there. And I dont understand why Ukraine thinks they should be doing that.

It's highly defensible and thus strategically significant for the Ukrainians.

For Russia there's some tactical benefit, but it's also highly symbolic.

Because it's so defensible, holding out longer there as your grind the invaders down you're giving yourself the best casualty ratio you can imagine.

If the tweet I just shared is correct it's a huge win in Ukraine's column. But I suspect those numbers are inflated, but I think it not reasonable to have 4+ Russian casualties for every Ukrainian.

Ukraine is gonna lose good men, the best you can do is make sure you are taking a lot more of the enemy.
