May 30, 20232 yr Kremlin blames Kyiv after multiple drones hit Moscow buildings https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2023/may/30/russia-ukraine-war-live-house-on-fire-in-kyiv-as-capital-comes-under-third-attack-in-24-hours Quote If confirmed as a UJ 22, it would fit with an apparent pattern of recent efforts by Kyiv to hit targets deep inside Russia with drones. In February 2023 UJ-22 crashed in Russia 100km from Moscow after managing to travel about 460km into Russian territory without being destroyed by Russia’s air defences. The latest attack – in terms of scale at least – suggests Ukraine is becoming more ambitious in both the scope and its abilities to conduct long-range drone attacks even if the weapons involved have much smaller payloads than the Iranian-manufactured Shaheed drones being used by Russia to attack Ukraine. The primary purpose of recent Ukrainian drone attacks deep inside Russia appears as much psychological as anything else – an attempt to bring the war in Ukraine to the doorstep of Russians.

I heard last week the one of the munitions that F16 can carry is the ADM-160 MALD, which is a low cost drone that can mimic the radar signature of a jet or a cruise missile.. the idea here would be to provoke a reaction from the Russian air defense, uncovering their positions for direct attack or at the very least force the expenditure of their missiles and exhausting their crews.
May 30, 20232 yr you have to consider how disgusting of a country russia is, i mean seriously, it's the most grotesque POS country ever in the history of the planet. no wonder these people are so angry. they have to wake up in the sheethole every day.
May 30, 20232 yr If the Russian MOD says it, you can take it to the bank. Notice the silence from the U.S., it speaks volumes. I told you dolts months ago that the Patriot system was junk and would be taken out pretty easily by superior Russian firepower. It gets worse, the same thing is true of THAAD. Should it come to that, the Russians will render it useless as well. I'll say it again, the U.S. has lost the arms race to the Russians.

May 30, 20232 yr Russia has captured literally a few square kilometers over the last six months and have lost significant amounts since their initial offensive. They are stalled. The terror campaign is all on Russia's side of the table. They invaded, they own it. All of it.

May 31, 20232 yr Having lost most of the modern tanks, etc, Russia is taking ancient equipment out of mothballs, so the Ukranians stil have something to destroy.
May 31, 20232 yr Another Russian traffic light successfully intercepted by the Patriot system. Good job, boys.

They have appeared to shift strategy on that front. Instead of using them in a pure forward assault capability I read they are shifting to using them more as a support artillery capacity. I'm not sure how true or widespread that is.
May 31, 20232 yr Tara Reade, who accused Joe Biden of sexual assault, defects to Russia https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/tara-reade-who-accused-joe-biden-of-sexual-assault-defects-to-russia/ar-AA1bUhjj Quote At her press appearance in Russia, Reade was described as a "writer and publicist and former aide to Joe Biden”. Sitting next to Butina, Reade said: "I just really so appreciate Maria and everyone who’s been giving me [protection] at a time when it’s been very difficult to know if I’m safe or not. "I just didn’t want to walk home and walk into a cage or be killed, which is basically my two choices.” Reade recently flirted with testifying before US House Republicans seeking to use committees to attack Biden and his family. The decision to defect to Russia, she told Sputnik, "was very difficult. I’m not an impulsive person. I really take my time and sort of analyse data points. Russia is bleeding us dry of our best and brightest.

May 31, 20232 yr It's on now. They are deploying the real spys Spoiler Alleged "Russian spy whale" enters Swedish waters A beluga whale known internationally as an alleged Russian "spy" has entered Swedish waters, an organization set up to track the whale announced Monday. The whale, nicknamed Hvaldimir, garnered international fame in 2019 after it was spotted wearing a specially made harness with mounts for a camera, leading experts to believe that it may have been trained by the Russian military. "After four years of swimming south down the coast of Norway, Hvaldimir — known worldwide as the 'Russian spy' beluga whale — is now in Swedish waters,” the organization OneWhale said in a statement. Hvaldimir was recently spotted in Norway’s capital Oslo, prompting concerns for the whale’s safety given the heavy boat traffic in the area. "But the famous beluga skirted around the dangerous waters of Oslo for Sweden,” OneWhale’s statement said. "We are impressed by Sweden's show of care for Hvaldimir. They immediately contacted us upon his arrival, and even closed a bridge to protect him." President of OneWhale, Rich German, said, "Hvaldimir's situation remains an extremely vulnerable one as Sweden is a highly populated country, but we are very grateful Swedish authorities have quickly taken action to care for the whale."

There are very few tank to tank encounters, so most vehicles are lost by artillery, mines or infantry weapons - so while a T55 can't compete as a main battle tank, it can still lob a shell. The question would be how long these old vehicles can stay in the field, as the Russian long-term maintenance/storage practices haven't proven to be the best. The dynamic is the same for UA, so they could likely use our older tanks as long as they reliably move and shoot (Leopard 1?).
