He awards my posts when he doesn't mean it. It's a very subtle, passive-aggressive form of cruelty intended to belittle and diminish my significant contributions to this forum.

You conveniently ignore the geopolitical situation following the breakup of the Soviet Union and expansion eastward of NATO. The Ukraine color revolution of 2014 and noise about having Ukraine join NATO unnecessarily provoked the Russian Bear. In 1994, such a move would have been unheard of. That, combined with the complete bungling of the Afghan withdrawal precipitated this war. A combination of incompetence and belligerence on the part of the globalists who are the de facto rulers of Ukraine through their puppet Zelensky What a bunch of crap. Temperature check?

The who matters. Except, in the context of ending this war, it really doesn’t. Yeah Putin’s an evil guy, many of the same leftists here now pining for war with him laughed at me when I called him the most dangerous person in the world over 20 years ago. Yeah Putin started it, yeah Putin is keeping it going, but no one is going to stop him so the best we can hope for is that he accepts a deal based on the situation today and honors it. That’s what Trump is pushing for. Accepting that Ukraine is not going to win, and can’t win, then stopping the war with minimal further loss becomes the best path forward, making the continuation of the war, of the slaughter, the beast that needs to be starved.

Ukraine ca’t win if the U.S. is helping Russia. I agree with that part.

March 3, 2025Mar 3 22 hours ago, Ace Nova said: Zelensky was trying to negotiate a "peace deal" with the United States when all the US is doing with this deal is "tying ourselves to Ukraine" economically - so that if/when Russia comes to the table to negotiate the actual peace deal - the US can say, "We now have vested (non military) interests in Ukraine and would like to come to a peaceful resolution to this war." Why is that important? It tells Russia that the US is interested in this for Economic reasons NOT for military or "spheres of influence" reasons. The purpose of this deal was a "first step" towards bringing Russia to the table to negotiate a "peace deal" NOT the "peace deal" itself - which is what Zelensky seemed to want to negotiate. With all due respect, there's a lot of wishful thinking about how we would view the economic engagement with Ukraine as well as how Russia would view it.

March 3, 2025Mar 3 Maybe this is another case of lost in translation, but it's pretty tone deaf given the current discussion.

March 3, 2025Mar 3 Trump just said the minerals deal is not dead. Does Zelensky have the discipline it will take to get it done? Doesn't seem like it.

Zelensky has been ready to sign for two weeks and Trump could have signed it over a week ago. Just need to fix that last open item.
